This tablet contains 40mgs of Furosemide, a generic for Lasix, this is a diuretic, commonly used to treat conditions such as high blood pressure and congestive heart failure.

My doctor has prescribed Lasix 40mg to be taken once daily for now. She said to take it in the morning do I take it with food or before I eat? If the swelling doesnt go down then take another at lunch time. Ive never had this drug ever and Im worried about taking it, I havent even started yet thats how much it frightens me to. Is this drug safe to take? Will it cause me any major problems? I have swelling in my lower leg and foot. Ive had an ultrasound done which came back negative for DVT. but the swelling is still there and Im worried. Im unsure if I should take this medication because im frightened to. What do you think? My doctor said nothing to me about a side effect of feeling dizzy at all. But I have noted there can be dizziness with taking this drug. Is is safe to take? As i havent even done so im worried. Is having this swelling safe? Ive also had blood tests all have come back as good nothing to say theres anything going on at all to cause my swelling. Please help.
