2012 Oxycodone 30mg Shortage In Florida (Page 43)

My spouse, who is in severe, chronic pain, has been a customer of Walgreens for many years. We live in Pinellas County, Florida. Everyday this week we have driven from Walgreen's to Walgreen's trying to fill his prescription for Roxicodone 30mg, to no avail. I cannot get any help from his regular pharmacy. I know that it's dangerous for them to tell a total stranger which store has them in stock, but I don't understand since they know him, why they can't call around or give us any assistance. I am at a total loss as to what to do & would appreciate any information that you could provide. It is so hard to see him in so much pain. Thank you.

My husbands godaughter works at wal-mart pharmacy has been in the pharmacy dept. since she was 17 and now 28, she gave me a number to report California pharmacies and she can I'm sure get the number for other states Maybe is a wide 800 number or something for this. As for daYmn skippy these guys cant do things they do. My doctor gives me not a REfill but a NEW script every month and puts may fill today. They at rite-ade say no cant do and try to keep the scripts there ( im a bit verbal) and made her give the script back. The pharmacy asst, that did this as well has turned in so many people stating they are selling pills and such with no proof and they are telling those customers here that they are not getting filled there because "and state loud" the reason. So isnt this a Dafamatory remark. huge laws in ca. state this is worst sometime then battery and other crimes, and these people are doing this, or your right @ 94brown they are making it up as they go. I think they figure they will be able to get away with things as the doctors falsafying U.A tests etc.... They have huge paper work now for Opiates and they dont want the trouble wal-mart seems to be the only ones not raising prices n not messing with those laws."THAT I have found"
And since when does the pharmacy have the right to tell in their minds who is in more need of pain releif then another. And why because of the clothes they wear make this a reason, I garden for a living and am full of dirt by afternoon and go to the store on a whim to get my meds, It's called MONEY that dirt on me and I dont care how i';m dressed
I will get these numbers up here may be I will see my god daughter sometime tonite n get all th info to report these people we need to be writing this stuff n such to the people that can do something, Im sick of this what they try to do. If enough people tell their story and BOMBARD them with letters etc. calls we should soon get a turn around, is woth the try, and Im just saying Is only for our own benifits, I will be back I do my best for tonite I know some or all of us are in need and in pain, this must stop!!!!!good luck u guys feel better. You guys are going to love this, my regular pharmacist told me today that over the last few months people from as far as Kentucky have been coming in trying to fill their scripts!! To combat the situation they just started telling everyone they are out except theirq regular patients who really need it, & that pharmacy
Hoppers are frowned upon. He also said there is no law or policy that prohibits a pharmacy from filling out of town scripts or from holding scripts for patients until medication becomes available. These pharmacies are making it up as they go along & should be regulated by an independent 3rd party to insure that they are not violating peoples rights by behaving unethically, all the while doing more harm than good....

Hi again, This is so a bunch of crap. I have been dealing with the oppisite for two years, here in sunny my butt California, cant find a doctor to give an opiate, and im allergic to everything, the doctor i had had me come in after 2 years of NOT seeing me and raped me of 9 meds I take all but 4 daily. Put me into adrenial Crisis, and then my hair begain to fall out (Thyroid), red flagged me at E.R. and went there they call me a pill seacher and i dont go to E.R. ever , I went to see the pharmisist she says im flagged from there to other end of NO where... I went a year scraping meds off the street, at 4 to 6 bucks a pop for norco. Then i got my olderst doctor back gives me HELL everytime im there. Had shingles he wanted to remove my norco says it lowers immune, my butt.
I cant beleive what this United States is doing to those in severe to moderate pain, tossing 5's like a Sit and beg bisquit, and if one can they do grab heroin for releif. Is insane. A whole new war. Now what to do, I was told go to the medical board, nope for the doctors n pharmisists, then the FDA, my friend used to work there she says nope no good, so who is this we have to say things to or a picket or something, i beleive yes a huge med issue with some then the some who dont well are having them, as 3 days on a cycle of this opiate your hooked so to speak n will and do withdrawl. Gotta love the human world...... Whatever.... Just sayin.....

they won't fill any schedule 2 drugs on line or mail from the state of fl that is where i got them for longest time' i am disable and drove everywhere can"t find them. this is crazy

You're lucky inagony. All the Walgreen's in this area aren't filling s2's. My Walgreen's I've gone to for 2 yrs knows my Dr and I have insurance and in the 2 yrs I used them, I never filled early and followed all the rules. They suck and don't care. I hope you won't go thru hell next time. Same bs with cvs. 3 different stores told me they don't carry s2's anymore. Trust me, I'm over 50, dress nicely and am always polite. I haven't even tried to fill at either chain last month. I'm glad u got yours, but it's not fair one person can get them filled and the majority of us can't and continue to suffer.

Miss karen, I checked oit that website awhile back. It now states no oxycodone shortage revised 6/12. It's not only the dea, its the fda closing the 2 manufacturing plants due to quality issues with medication. Anything to help the diversion of this med. I see some are anle to fill at Walgreen's. Every one I've be to tells me they're no longer carrying S2 drugs. Liars. Ive beentaking morphine ir. 30mg. 5 x's a day to replace the roxycodone 30 mg. 5 x's a day. I'm a freakin zombie and still in a lot of pain. That old saying you don't k.kw what u have until it's gone couldn't be more true the last 2 months. Quality of life is less and it's getting harder and harder to hide my pain and tiredness. Idk wtf to do anymore.

Hello, I cant find the books name I would call where i got it first however the doctor moved to Hawiai, none the less, you seem to be doing all the right stuff, the walk the talk, even when you have free time and not in a situation jot on some cards some things you can do to help when in panic, these are good as durin an attack bring yourself to your brain if you will and then try to remember its what it is just an attack, I have done myself and others good this way, also find a safe person, wether you think so or not your already around one person who knows you and things and you feel safe and not imbarrassed this way when u go to public you are able for this person to help bring you out. I have many times left a cart in the center of Safeway and because i didnt have a clue how to find the front door to return later for the cart or to start again feel like all eyes on me n go out again. So yes its bad to feel as tho your alone, BUT you are not. Then to have pain on top of this agatates this even more as constent irratation will panic you as well. Wow no win for us huh... but there is a comfort in friends... have a wonderful day...Lori

Great....I went to the American society o pharmacists, and according to their site, there is no shortage right now of oxycodone 30 mg. We're being duped in this state!!

I went to 3 stores....Kmart, & 2 Walgreens. The 3rd store I went to had them in stock & was gonna fill them but then came back saying I was 1 day early & they couldn't fill until tomorrow. I feel like I won the lottery & then had my ticket snatched out of my hand :(
I guess my point is....1 out 3 pharmacies had them this time, not terrible odds! Tomorrow I'll go back, but I guarantee they are out by then!! Ill keep ya's posted

Well, I had my appt today, 1st stop = a big fat NO! Same story, we are having supplier issues, this is at KMart! Whatever, I am so sick of this crap! My PM Doc is Board Certified & FAAPM member. He takes tons of diff insurance companies, I have been I am filling same Rx for over 3 years at either
KMart or WAGS
I don't understand, they are really screwing pppl around with this crap! Anyway, I'll keep pisting what I find out! Ttfn!

ok guys, heres what I found out after my dr appt monday....I took my scripts to walgreens.....same one I have gone to 4 four years and a new pharmacy manager I had only met 3-4 times was working. She of course told me no, I dont have that mg(30) maybe your dr will write for 20 mg....and your DR is on the list of Drs that do not take insurance.....well, BS, so I rode back to Drs office got proof that he accepts medicare, BCBS..... and he is board/state certified, went back to pharmacy with proof of this (I know lotta crap and time) I showed her my proof and to my astonishment!!!! she took my prescription....and I asked should I go back and ask for 20 mg? she said Nope....I will fill this for you. I was stunned!!!!!!!! Even the tech said they didnt have any!I was ready to have my meds changed even tho I know by experience that nothing else works as well....Boy am I glad I waited! And it is absolutely true that going back to your regular pharmacy, being polite,even when you are treated rudely, dressing well, and giving proof your Dr takes insurance will certainly further your case for needing meds.My old pharmacist there also told me to go down to 150 tabs,as 180 is supposed to be the highest # doc are supposed to prescribe. Just a word of hope....maybe next month will be back to literal hell but for now....just have hope and listen to those of us who come every few days to check progress. That's strange, because Walgreens was the only pharmacy that had my kadian in stock this week....these mom and pop drug store gouging is going to eventually bite them in the azz, I can't afford to buy from those drug dealers....I believe there stores should be boycotted....,

i am a 45 yearold male who has multiple herniated disk and nerve damage . ive been on pain medication for 20 years i have always filled my rx with walgreens at the same walgreen for the last year i get multiple medications like we all do one of which is oxycodone 30 ml 145 quanity . i was unable to fill my script last month at all after stopping into 100,s of pharmecy,s and spending 100,s of dollars in gas . i was told everything from they are on back order to you dont qualify to your dr dosnt qualify even though my doctor has never been sued or has never been under investigation in the 25 years he has been in practice . the pharmecy.s always tell me they would be happy to fill the other 5 scripts for me but then i would be walking around with just a script for my 30,s and we all know that would make a tuff situation that much tougher . i went to my dr appt last week after 28 days of being un able to fill my oxycodone and asked him to change my medication and he did to dilaudid 8,s which has been a struggle to fill as well , i was on my way to a mom and pops i was told i could get filled at and on my journey i was driving by a walgreens i have not tried yet so i went in for sh**s and giggles i handed my scripts to the pharmecist on duty and she informed me that walgreens just sent a memo that all walgreens in the state of florida will any longer be carring c2 medications so when i left i decided to give walgreens corperate a call since i have the number in my cell anyways to confirm and she did just that she said until further notice they indeed will not be carrying any c2 medication what so ever . this is ridicolous i have had a othopedic surgeon tell me surgery will cause me more damage in the long run and word for word i was told i would have to be medicated for the remainder of my life i carry my mri with me at all times and im willing to show it to anyone that has any doubt in my medical needs ... atleast the mom and pops helped me out with the dilaudid cost me 500 $ for my scripts but i also have the muscle relaxers and anti inflammitory,s that i also need but have been unable to get until now .

yes it is a violation of the hippa law you have not signed a hippa dis closer agreement with them they are not docs and are not qualified to even read a film if they try it report him sheriff office will steer you to fdle he is practicing medicine with out a license and deserves what he gets
