2012 Oxycodone 30mg Shortage In Florida (Page 21)

My spouse, who is in severe, chronic pain, has been a customer of Walgreens for many years. We live in Pinellas County, Florida. Everyday this week we have driven from Walgreen's to Walgreen's trying to fill his prescription for Roxicodone 30mg, to no avail. I cannot get any help from his regular pharmacy. I know that it's dangerous for them to tell a total stranger which store has them in stock, but I don't understand since they know him, why they can't call around or give us any assistance. I am at a total loss as to what to do & would appreciate any information that you could provide. It is so hard to see him in so much pain. Thank you.

Tom,youknow what's sad.I moved to pasco county 4 years ago.I saw numerous pain doctors here and all were awful.And like you said many were full of people falling asleep or on their cell phones talking about how they would be out soon,or calling pharmacies for prices.So I ended up in Tampa where most clients are older and the doctor is strict.Compassionate but strict.Now the pharmacists won't fill my script because they say there is plenty of pain doctors closer to home.I said well tell me where.Oh know they can't.Tampa is next county over and I am in city right on the county line,.the office isn't far.You can't win no matter what you do.Hi panicpain,you know I was thinking.With you having to take care of hubby and carry everything on your shoulders why won't your dr, or hubbys dr.help you fill script.They can make a call to help you know .And you can't just stay in bed you have to work ,ask them.I mean really I don't think you said you 're name is supergirl!

I had a cop tell me tonight they went to a guy an womans house the guy 23 the girl 21 an there 2yr old had oxycodone 30mgs powder all over his face an they helicoper flew him to St Pete,and did an urine test on both the guy an girl who had 260 oxyscondone each an both tested neg for any Drug in there systems,so there are two that say they cannot work cause there disabled from back injuries,there brain is the only Disability they have an selling them at 40 a pot 20,000 a month why work right till they get got now there asseds are going down for child neglect,the cop said the guy took the bottle an said see how easy they come off an he pushed down on it like a 2 yr old can do that,I guess the dumb bassard thought the cop would believe him

can you believe i have been to all mom and pops I can find and they only sell to current clients.shouldn't have done it cause now i'm vomitting from the pain and can't stop.one pharmacy i've been to in past says i have not been there enough,that't because they don't have them all the time.just can't win.meanwhile my doctor has been gone since july and won't be back until october so i keep getting same script from office..all i want is a few.just to cut the pain a little.this sucks.

I was looking for something on the DEA website and saw something of interest- they have shut down 2 cvs pharmcies from selling narcotics.

chris,in the Tampa news paper there is a story how they also busted two walgreens in the town i live in.And the major supplier out of lakeland i believe it was cardinal they called it.Anyway they were watching and these pharmacies were selling large amounts so the des moved in and now walgreens won't deal with oxycodone because of it.So the pharmacy screws up and punishes their clients.The honest ones.nice!

tom has a dilema. his doctor was giving him 30mg ir oxycodone for past 5 years..never early...always a good patient. he went to his appt today and the doctor said no more writing oxycodone. his doctor is saying all the doctors are getting together to stop any writing of oxycodone and he got 8mg dilaudid 3 times daily. i must say, very nice and just a little weak but works well on pain. i hope when i goto my dr next month, i can still get my oxy ir 30mg 4-6 hours. ive got more metal from the spine all the way to the head and the oxycodone worked so well for me and until my disability insurance kicks in i cant afford the dilaudid(if he gives me that instead of my 30mg oxy ir) but theres nothing i can do but try to come up with the money and go from there. im glad after trying these meds for the first time ever, these work very well as compared to the oxy 30mg ir. the 8mg is about half strength in my opinion. hes asking for the 12mg next month and that should equal the strength of 1 30mg oxy ir. anyways, i will find the money for the dilaudid. killed my pain. and the only other medicine that did that was oxycontin-old formula, oxycodone30mgir, fetanayl patches, 200mg kadian morphine(100mg or stronger to have any beneficial effect) pretty much you name it and i got it since 2000. its only till now i have no insurance but the minumum cause all my surgeries the insurance doesnt give me a policy period. so im waiting on the state but at least i know now of another medication to ask for since most doctors are not writing them anymore.
my buddy gets 3 months at a time from dr, hes been his patient for 3 plus years and not new patient and when he went in today he switched his meds and so even the patients he used to write the oxy 30mg ir hes not doing it anymore period. but all us in chronic pain thanx to all the pill mills and junkies coming from outta state were all in a world of hurt.

I went from taking 4 80s a day from 2 major back surgeries an oxycodones 8 a day to being switched to dilaidias 8mg they dont do nothing for me-my last surgery was feb 23,2012 an they told me to get up an walk after 5hrs an when I went to get up i felt something rip in my lower right back an after walking I could not lay flat on my back nor my right side-I told them they did nothing an after my follow up sent me to a hip doctor,I knew it wasnt in my hip,they rip my back open 6in then stampled it back together,now from my right low back to the outside of my leg to my right knee feels like a torch being held on it,an its always numb an tingling,my legs are so weak It takes a 80 to get out of bed to walk to the bathroom,now no more of them around,I have been calling pain Doctor after pain Doctor,I will not go to no paper mill that are doing nothing but giving young kids pills to ruin there life,the best thing that could happen is they shut them all down,an the new law they passed says your primary Doctor can give you pain meds up to 90days an after that you have to go to a pain management clinic that they send you to,but all these kids will go to the paper mill an some of them just go get them to sale them to make money off of,they will only do it for so long till they get caught an go to prison for 5 to 15yrs,I will be happy to help them go down just like they make it hard for people with real pain to suffer an not be able to get oxys they need,when there just getting them to make money an all these side road paper mills giving all these 18-19-20-21-22-23-24-25yr olds pills when they have never been in a bad wreck wreck-bad fall never worked a day in there life an say there disabled,there disabled alright,there just some low life scum lazy dirt bags who are to lazy to work an wants to live off selling pills an playing video games

These pharmacies have a quota, and reached it earlier in the year. Yup, cardinal, major supplier for FL shut down quite a few months ago. A new thread should be started, no more oxycodone ir in the state of FL. It's going to only get worse. There are stories that by the new year, there will be no c2 narcotics prescribed unless you're a cancer patient or terminally ill. This is why we need to fight back with joining the ffpcan org. It's our only hope. We are all screwed. This is the reality.

Thank you, but it would be nice if others would do SOMETHING TOO! Donate PLEASE so we can do more rallies, or SHOW UP people ! These rallies just setting up hasnt been easy on Donna or any of us that do work 40 plus hour jobs and another 10 putting fliers up and writing to congress , you name it, we need help guys this is serious beyond not able to fill our meds, there are people of all walks of life committing suicide because of the pain and then the withdrawal pain and vomiting kicks in and if anyone has had the awful pleasure of going that far, you know you have thought of ending it all too! We need to come together like family and attack this disgrace of our FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT!!!!! Once again PLEASE to you all, help out or donate. Thank you. Shannon

When they busted a so called pain clinic in Sarasota FL., that was owned by 10 city employees(2 were firemen) .....they seized ungodly amounts of oxycodone!!! This all was being supplied by WALGREENS!! I knew this had to be true , because me and several others i know were being turned away from all Walgreens for roxy, including several other pain meds the month prior to the bust. A couple of the Walgreens pharmacist said the d.e.a.was doing an inspection with them! That didn't make much sense till i had heard that so much medication was seized, and the majority of it from just o.e pharmacey ( WALGREENS) .......this this i found to be ironic since they have a way of making u feel uncomfortable when you are attempting to get your scripts filled by them ,but no different than any other pharmacy!!!!

2 walgrens in pasco county had there controlled subtance licenes revoked walgrens at 52 an one on us 19 an I think the enploys were taking them an selling them to there friends,if you want to know the truth about it,why shut pharmacys down just for filling peoples scripts,I haven't figured that out yet,thats why we have them to fill our scripts,so I think there was a inside person that worked there that was taking the meds out of the store,I noticed they both that were taken from has all new enploys

You have to understand (especially in florida) Roxy's are now what Crack cocaine was in the 80's. It is the most HEAVILY abused controlled substance amongst youths, Teens, and adult's alike. Rehab's all over florida are full constantly with addicts trying to kick their Roxy habit. I recommend you have your husband ask his doctor for another prescription of another pain killer.... There are plenty of other's on the market that will subdue his pain. Addicts know where the scripts are and when the pharmacy will have them, and you will never beat an addict at his/her game.

I can't understand a dang thing u are attempting to write!! Maybe you should spend some more time learning how to spell and Grammer and less time b****ing about your drugs. An intelligent person would have never allowed any Dr. to continue surgery after surgery especially when the first and then second failed to provide adequate pain relief! Oh, and now you are going to allow a third? Yeah, real smart, ain't ya?
Btw, what you keep calling a paper mill i believe you mean ...pill mill? Go back to school and you won't have time for repeat surgeries, and ungodly amounts of opiates that you probably don't need either. You are just jealous that you don't get to nod out and drool all over yourself like you wish you could! I usually don't attack people as its not my nature, but I am so sick and tired of your I'm entitled to "my pills" but no one else is attitude!
If you really were as bad of as you say you are, you should have a regular pharmacist who knows your conditions and is able to hold your scripts and order your Ned's for you. You would not be on a " oxycodone 30 mg Shortage Forum" b****ing about everybody else!!

tell them to write you Opanas they have up to 40mg of that-or morphine-guess thats what its down to now-they will figure out a way to get them off the shelf next-I feel sorry for the people who have cancer an not being able to have meds for it cause of all these young kids an there is some older people as well on them that has nothing wrong with them,if you havent been in a bad wreck or a bad fall an havent worked like a machine like me my entire life from 12 to 53 now having my back blow out in sept 2010 an having to have emergeny surgery-then had plates an screw put in my neck at c5-6 c6-7 an then back surgery again feb 23,2012 an now after they did it they tell me to get up an walk an i felt something rip across my lower right back an could not lay back down on my back or right side an they just let it go after I told them-an to this day it feels like a torch on my right leg from my hip to my knee-stays numb-tingling an burning-legs are so weak in the morning I cannot get out of bed until the pain meds kick in-I was on 4 80s a day an 10 30s-after surgery I started on 3 80s a day an stopped everything else an thank god I did or I would be in huge trouble right now I have 10 days left an then I see another pain Doctor an I hope to god he gives me something or I have another plan-I will not live in chronic pain 24/7 all because of the goverment letting all these paper mills give kids that have never raised there hand to work or havent been in no wrecks just take a MRI to a retired Docotr who never read a MRI in his Life an he will give them what they want-its all about the almighty Dollar-But in the end all there doing is going to be buring alot of people cause the young people now are going to herion-crack-they will be dying off like flies all because of paper mills who should have been arrested for4 giving them pills to begin with when there was nothing wrong with them-only real primarys should be able to send you to a pain management clinic they Does shots an knows what to give young kids who thinks there life is not worth being a man or woman an just stay High all the time an waste there life an never have a thing -an after there all off the streets an they had no pain to begin with after taking them for a few months they will have alot of pain-they have no clue what they have got thereself into when they cannot get no more they will be dying off quick an in pain they only though they hurt from before starting them oxys an then having them go away an then have severe pain an will take anything to stop it

tom, get over it. and yes thanx to the junkies were screwed. but your talking to alot of us on here that were the junkies when we are the other forum members in chronic pain...your not the only one with screws and plates in his back/neck. my dr just switched from oxycodone 30mg ir to 8mg dilaudid three times a day and they work great...covered by insurance too. get the dilaudid...most pain meds are getting switched from oxy to dilaudid-if your lucky...if not find a new dr to write these meds...very easy to fill too

get dilaudid insead of oxy, there almost as good for the pain may need 12mg to equal 1 30 oxy but well worth the no hassle of finding a pharmacy at least here where i live...they have roxies and dilaudis at one pharmacy and there cool and not overcharging. got a 120 8g diluadid for 2.60 co pay.:) and i am not in pain and nodding just like the oxies but different for those wanting to feel high as well as pain relief these pills are the only other pills ill vouch for when comparing to oxies.

If you would do a little research you would know that new laws require a primary care physician refferal to pain management, the new data base was put into place in order to prevent Dr. Shopping and every time I go to fill my scripts the pharmacy is required to look up what I have filled and when. So everything that you are complaining about is being addressed! In fact the DEA has gone so overboard that many many legitimate chronic pain patients are unable to fill their their prescriptions, hence....this forum!! Oxycodone 30 mg shortage.

I know there is none around no matter what clinic you go to now-And its all because of the paper mills-I know for a fact no walgrens or CVS are carrying them I went to 41 of them-plus the money saver-so I know all about the shortage in florida-Just making a point my friend

I am 53yrs old an was taking 4 80s a day one every 6 hrs an was on ten 30s a day an guess what i never felt high an my pain was still there,I am 6ft4 at 245 an have the dilaudia 8mgs now but after 2 major back surgeries an the last one in feb they tell me to get up an walk an I felt something rip in my right lower back an instead of them taking me for a MRI while still in the Hospital they just walked away then on my follow up they had me go see a hip Doctor which Told me what I knew already it was in my Back,the first surgeon cut me open 3in on each side of L4-5 an took out a Large herniated Disc after I blew it out,the second surgeon cut me open &in an stampled it together an I never felty so much pain after the first as I did the 2nd,an I wish to God I would have never blowed it out cause after you have surgery your screwed for life-cause it never stops at one-now I have to have L4-5 completely removed,after steriod shots Did not work,the last thing I want is a High,I was 48yr old before dropping the first 30,an 50 before the first 80,it all depends on your pain an the tolerance to meds I guess,Cause even taking a 80 an 30 together just got me where I was able to walk without pain,so it would take more then 3 12s of dilaudia for me an I dont do it to get high,
