2012 Oxycodone 30mg Shortage In Florida (Page 22)

My spouse, who is in severe, chronic pain, has been a customer of Walgreens for many years. We live in Pinellas County, Florida. Everyday this week we have driven from Walgreen's to Walgreen's trying to fill his prescription for Roxicodone 30mg, to no avail. I cannot get any help from his regular pharmacy. I know that it's dangerous for them to tell a total stranger which store has them in stock, but I don't understand since they know him, why they can't call around or give us any assistance. I am at a total loss as to what to do & would appreciate any information that you could provide. It is so hard to see him in so much pain. Thank you.

I understand that I am not the only person that suffers from chronic pain each day-I own a used Furniture store an have customers in the same boat as we are,one lady that come into my shop said she has had 7 back surgeries,If there were any good surgeons that cared about an took there time in what they were doing they would be able to fix you right the first time an not have 2 have the same Identical surgery the 2nd Time,how do you get a large herniated disc in the same identical place after 3months an within a 15months have another large herniated Disc taken from the same place has the first surgeon that removed it,I have dilaudia 8mg I take 3 at a Time but guess what there not good to take Like that,thats why they were giving you oxycodone with another to take inbetween,I realize I am talking to a crew that is in the same condition as I am,an I know how you feel inside an out because of what these paper mills have done to the state of florida,And them allowing people to come from other states an get them should have been against the law,It was all about money no matter your age what was wrong with you they would give you pills to get rich quick,an now the paper mills are giving our morphine an methodone which cause of my heart issues I cannot do methodone,but I haven't been to a Doctor now for 4months an have a appointment with one the 28th,if he dont help me I am screwed,my son died 3yrs ago an not from Drugs but a ware Cancer in Delaware-the clinic wouldnt give me my scripts 4 days early since I am in florida,I had to pay 500 round trip from philly back to florida to get me scripts an had to spend 2 days away from my dying son,he Died 2 days after I returned I knew then I would never walk into there office again an went to a pill mill an now my doctor sends me to someone lagent an guess what they refuse me because I went to one of them,3 of them refuse me because I didnt want to drive 35miles to another pain doctor through my insurance,so now I had to go out of my county for a doctor an now waiting to see whats going to happen on the 28th,I am just trying to make a point I know I am certainly far from the only one being in chronic pain,I just hate to see these paper mills ruining all the young kids life out here,because I have to Sons who are now on Herion thats why I am so upset that no matter what I told them they Dont listen to me,they know it all an I dont have it in me to bury another one,

i think many of them are selling to people, i went to one that is 24hr. open and i asked if a fill was poss, in a few day for sure he said, if you look at FDA site there is no shortage! And the Pharmacy guy was f-ed up on something!

@ tom, I'm sorry about your son. Your posts are confusing bc you're all over the place. You've seen a lot of drs, and all of that info is known to every Dr going forward. It's hard enough for patients who've been with the same Dr to get meds filled. I've been with same pain mgt since I was referred by primary Dr. In the state of FL the pharmacists have a site they can check to see who prescribed, want pharmacy and what med. This is to prevent Dr shopping. I personally am for this bc I have, .nothing to hide. What I do have a problem with is pharmacists playing Dr. They're being harassed so badly from the DEA, it's ridiculous. Having 2 kids doing heroin, I can't even imagine. If they were mine, I would marchman act their asses and help them get clean. Spellcheck is needed for most of us, utilize it, bc it's hard to understand posts. Peace.

Let me tell you something, For one I had used walgrens for 20yrs an never had no problem fuilling no scripts until they wanted everyone to pay Cash an knew my Insurance was paying for mine,So I dont really give two f***s what you have to say to me cause what you say means nothing to me,I will spell the way I want an talk how I want,and if your back blew out maybe you would know why someone had to go have another one,If one surgeon Does a Piss poor job an the 2nd one you try Does no better when there rated the highest around,What would you do Mr know it all,Its like this chump,I am not the only person In chronic pain,But I do know there are alot of young Punk Mf,,,,,, who have No business taking oxycodones for no reason at all,You Dont start a 18yr old off with the highest Drug there is to get them hooked on it,So wont you try going to school an learn about something before you run your Mouth on someone you know nothing about,I know one thing I have worked my entire Life since I was 12yrs of age,I had a ruff child Hood an made it through that an the Army,And I Dont take s*** from no One an I dont let people like you try an tell me why I let them keep giving me Back surgeries,I Didnt ask for my back to Blow out,cause if it wouldn't have I would still be pressure cleaning an Painting Homes,I still lift heavy furniture because its hard to get any of you to work,all you think about doing is letting your Girlfriends support you while you lay on your ass an take pills an play video games,And there Dumb enough to believe your in pain when the real reason is your just lazy

@414-Lets get something straight Boy-I had no choice but to have surgery,And if you ever had one you would see that the so called high Rated surgeon that cut you open wasnt so High rated after all,when your knees buckle out of under you after 3 months of surgery,What do you do lay there or go to another surgeon,like I said to everyone I am not the only person in chronic pain but One thing I do know is I was with the same pharmacy for 20plus years,And then they would want to take Cash before my insurance payments for the oxycodones,So when I would go they would be out,If you didnt get there at 8am an stand there till they filled them at ten am there start filling time you were screwed,so Dont tell me how your sick of hearing others talk an how if I did this or I did that it would be Different,Try going to a surgeon an let me know how you are when you come out,I have been around people who have been through 5-6 7 surgeries,Cause after they do it the first time your screwed,Anything can happen after they do it once,If my back Didnt blow out I would have never let them touch me,But I do know this,Evendently you have never had to go that route an until you do you know nothing about what happens when you go under the first time for back or neck surgery,So before you run your punk mouth to someone wont you look up the ratings on back surgeries an how many last after having the first one Done

I never remember writting one thing about no other person ,Not being able or shouldnt be able to get there Meds,If there in true pain then they should get them,But there are alot of people who just get them to sale them,I know a few like that,thats How I can say what I say,you think I like having surgeries I Dont,let me ask you a question if you had your back blow out,And had to have surgery the following day or go parilized what would you do,Just as I thought you would go have it,then 3 months after your allowed to start lifting things again an all of a sudden your on your knees,Unable to stand up straight or walk an your told you have a herniated disc in the very same place has the surgeon said he removed when he Did the first one,I didnt go back to the same guy,I went to another one who opened me up 7in on the right side of my back an 5hrs later was told to get up an walk,I started to get up an felt something rip in my right lower back,After I went to lay back down I could not lay on my back nor my right side,I told them they just walked away an went to my follow up after calling them 5 times telling them I couldnt lay on my back an got sent to a hip Doctor,as he told me it was in my back like I already didnt know that,My choice I had was to now get shots which Did not work,My next choice is to have another surgeon to remove L4L5 completely,You have no clue who or what my problems are an you say you dont judge,Well I cannot help you Dont understand plan Simple English,I also never said nothing about me getting my pills an no one Else should get theres,I Said it before an I will say it again,I know there are hundreds of people that are going through the same thing as I am in my life,I also know I have been to 2 pain Doctors in the last 5yrs that I began taking oxys,I also know that I call them Paper Mills cause the pills are wrote on paper,I belive any pill mill-paper mill if they only are there to push paper scripts to someone an not able to give shots to people or give young Kids a lower doseage of medicine to start them off on,Not give them what they give to cancer paients,you can cut me Down say what you want about me,but at the end of the Day I am an have always been an will be till the day i die a work Aholic no matter how much pain I go through in my life each day,I have bills that dont stop coming in every month an I have no other choice but to work,Unlike the kids out here who think there parents can be there money tree an then when there gone they have no clue what to do,I Know there are alot of people in my condition an are going to suffer cause of retired doctors an even Cops that have something to do with these side road clinics.Its all about the almighty Dollar,I have never an sure I will never seen a brinks truck following a Hurst to the cemetery,But you can say what you want about me,I am no little boy that wants to take nothing,if I had my choice they could take all there pain meds an shove them,I used over the counter meds for years since I was in my twenties,I didnt run to get pain pills from the Docotr cause I went to work for someone one day an my back used a muscle I Didnt know I had an instead of working it out an deal with a little pain,the kids all run to get pain meds cause they cannot handle no type of muscle they never knew they had in there body start hurting cause they had never worked a day in there life,Like you telling me why do I let them keep cutting on me,You act like you know it all an you know nothing,I can tell you have never had your back blow out on you an you better hope you never do,If it happens to you then you will see how it works,cause when one blows they all start going after if you continue to work,an people like me have no choice but to work cause I have no stocks in the electric company or phone,maybe you do right,

Tom,you and I are in same area.I hear your pain in your posts.I know I sound like a whiner but when the pain reaches a certain point it's hard not to b...ch.and I feel like I would sell a kidney for one 30.Am I druugy,no just know that my pain would be gone with just one.I have begged mom and pops to just fill a part of script.never mind using my insurance.Anyway I'm not giving up because I can't.If I find them I will share where with you.I know it's easy to say but honestly I will.If each of us that finds them would help one person wouldn't that be great.

As a pain patient for almost 9 years now my heart goes out to everyone in pain and who the f has the right to tell u how much pain u reall are in. First wtf is a papermill?, and second they are not taking away the C11's you'd be left with hydrocodne that's worth anything and also suboxone and subutexnwhich contrary to belief are strong ass pain meds. No more roxy, dilaudid, demerol, opana, morphine, fentanyl, percs, nucynta, methadone which is the drug Washington State wants everyone on. Their new law says if your primary dr prescribes u 120 mg of morphine or any other narc that coverses to that amount has to see a pain specalist (that's what most of us do) but in Wash State their are like 13 of them and now most of the dr's are scared to provide anything. Next Walgreens DOES. Get them in stock, while some don't carry them a lot do (should rip off that damn sign of the guy jumping over counter I call bulls***) my Wags are awesome been goin thei for ever give em cards, be nice, some donuts, and patience goes along way. First get a long acting med this will keep u sane while u wait for the oxy ir to come in. Again Purdue has patient assistance program if qualify I believe for a few er drugs I know they do for op's who wouldn't want that unless u have to shoot or snort. I'm really tired of people going over and over about their terrible injuries and they have to take and never get high I've been doing something for the past 9 years and ill still catch a buzz it sucks its like the new depressed people can't let people know what u take or you're a pill popper yup sure am got a script and a file that I could knock you fckng head off with sorry ranting in hospital again getting ulcers carterized from the safe and effective nsaids that I took for my whole life along w getting an lp and a bone marrow biopsy that was awesome having a thick needle hammeres into your pelvic bone didn't hurt but. Good luck eveyone do your home work so u know what you're talking about and stick to on pharm and one dr and remember the dea does not male laws and are using illigal tactics peace

Dude you keep repeating yourself over & over & over again. We get it man. Maybe you should find a support group or at the very least a chronic pain forum. Every time you post a reply I get a notification and it has nothing to do with the topic of THIS forum.
I have gone through A LOT OF CRAP in my short 34 years but one thing I have learned rather quickly is that no one really wants to sit there listening to someone else go on & on about ALL of your problems when the world is full of people who are worse off than you. You made decisions to have surgeries and now you have to live with them. Failed though they may be. I am sure the risks were explained to you pre-op. I have needed back surgery for awhile now, but I have done my research and the odds are not in my favor so I opt against it. It's too much of a risk! My mother-in-law has had 2 surgeries, why 2? Because the 1st one failed!! You think for one second she is gonna go for a 3rd? Uhhh No!! She is not very intelligent, but she knows better than to let anyone cut into her again, unless of course it's life saving surgery! Pain, nahhh, just eat your damn pain pills and get your head out of your ass.
My point is, this is not the place for emotional therapy. If you have valuable info regarding the "shortage" so be it. But if not, you should try a different forum. One for Chronic Pain Patients or Failed Surgery Patients.

i must say tom, hes correct...your not the only one doing this but really man noone cares on this site about your surgeries...ive got my own but really dont care on this site as everyone here is fcked up in 1 way or another but find a support group for your issues this is strictly about meds and how and why we cant get our oxies anymore for us legit pain patients

I feel the same way. I've heard of more failures with back/ neck surgeries than successes. The fact is, we are all facing similar problems, not being able to fill oxycodone prescriptions. Instead of posting about failed surgeries, it supposed to be about the medication. I also agree with many here, true pain sufferers would be willing to try an alternative medication. It's established most can't get oxycodone. Have open communication with your Dr, they're aware of the fact we can't fill oxycodone. It's not the only med that can help. It helped me more than what I'm prescribed now, but this whining about begging for "roxy" wreaks of desperation. It only makes it worse for legit patients. Once you find a pharmacist who will fill alternative, stay with them, and hopefully they'll be willing to fill for you going forward.

I would like to add I clean for two doctor's and both tell me Gov Scott is responsible for this. I also had a pharmacy confirm this. If you find it a good law vote for him again if not you know what to do. I agree people getting these at pill mill amount's needed to go but legitimate prescription's for real pain should still be attainable. I bet if Scott ever get's cancer he find's a way to get his pain pill's. Isn't it also dangerous to suddenly without warning to be taken off of high dosage pain pill's. Scott must be making the illegal drug trade a zillion time's richer.
