Y Lax Side Effects

My doctor has advised chymonac tabs. Alongwith D-Gain & Gemcal -DS for degenerative changes in LS spine. I have constipation problem after taking these med. Pl. Advise is it side effect of these med? I am 70 year old. ## Based on my research, 'constipation' is in fact listed as a side effect of Gemcal-DS (calcitriol). If however, its become too bothersome or severe, I would strongly recommend contacting your doctor as soon as possible to find a more appropriate solution. Have you considered supplementing with any laxatives or digestive enzymes to help breakdown food blockages in the intestines? i took about 32 ounces of this stuff to clean me out BUT had to stop cause my st0mach was killing me. ## Go Lytely contains: polyethylene glycol, potassium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, sodium chloride, and sodium sulfate And is used to clean out the bowels, usually before medical testing. And yes, anything that works basically as a laxative can cause those types of side effects and you may also experience: bloating, vomiting or nausea. Have you contacted your doctor about this? ## I drank one glass of golightly and in 15 minutes, I became severely short of breath, started shaking, and my head was swimming. Hi. My 90 year old Aunt suffered food poisoning a few months ago and was hospitalized. She has taken a daily laxative for years- which worked effectively and predictably. She has been put on Altosec 20 for months now - her bowel movements are now more urgent and frequent. Is this a side effect or an intolerance of the Altosec? Since the food poisoning, she is also taking a daily vitamin - DS-24- vitamins/minerals including iodine 140ug, 20mg calcium, choline 5mg and molybdenum. Is the Altosec 20mg perhaps too strong? I just took my first dose (145 mcg) of Linzess this morning. Within 2 hours I had 2 normal bowel movements with no pain. After 5 hours, my head started feeling prickly and itchy, my ears plugged up and then my heart seemed to be slowing down to the point where I started to pass out. Taking prucalopride 2 mg for 4 weeks . I had a headache to begin with which settled . Occasionally feel light headed . Much hungrier than normal with hunger pangs and rumbling which are hard to ignore - really hope this goes as I lost 20lb with diet and exercise last year. I have been taking Deriphylin Retard 150 twice daily - Morning and Evening in connection with the suspected Asthma and breathing problem. As a result I have developed swollen gums and ulcerated tongue. Is it because of this medicine? If so, can you suggest some alternative or a cure? Redotex really works while your on it but once you stop taking them, you'll start to gain the weight you lost, also feel depressed :( ## HI, Camila! Sorry about the problem you had after taking it. Can it cause asthma like symptoms? As my relative takes high blood pressure and gemer1 and has suddenly developed very serious breathing problems and sometimes she's ok and it starts suddenly then may stop without medications or may need IV's for laxis, hydrocortisone, aminophiline together. ## What have the doctors said is causing it? If its genuine asthma, then that would be due to allergies and if she were allergic to the medication, it would happen every time she took it and most likely worsen with time.
