I'm very nervous, i am currently taking 8mg of hydromorphone and 30 mg of oxycontin a day and might have to have a surgery. I suffer from chronic pain from hideous chronic neuro lyme disease. I started taking hydromorphone because it actually helps with terrible undeniable chronic pain. If i am told i need surgery i will have to tell them because i would not be able to come home for 3 days. I am prescribed the oxycontin but not the dilaudid, and i heard the withdrawals would be hell on earth. Any experience from anyone? ## Hello, Holly! How are you? Certain medications can also interfere with anesthesia, so not tell them could put you at great risk, or possibly cause life threatening complications. Thus, it is best to be honest and tell them everything you have been taking. The FDA ...

Why do you think docs prescribe Suboxone or Methadone for opiate withdrawal, make patients stay on it until they are completely addicted to it for years, then have to treat them to come off it? Why don't they treat a 5 day opiate withdrawal with a benzo to sleep, clonidine, gabapentin, trazodone for a week or two instead. It would sure help society not be addicted to Suboxone. Worst drug ever. ## Most people, even if they are addicted, can't just take a ton of medications to try and sleep through their withdrawals and be out of work for that length of time. Treatment with Suboxone or Methadone enables them to still work and be productive, while undergoing addiction treatment and, unlike Methadone, Suboxone usually enables most people to eventually become completely drug free, al...

The Alvagen pill , is the worst pill I've ever taken.. and to the 1984 deal.. that's history , the 20% additive.. They are allowed 30% additive now.. Trump just signed an executive order.. making companys to have to hold back on how many pills they are allowed to give to the pharmacy.. just like Obama did. Which means my Endocets will be given to the hospital's first.. it's back to generics for me.. I take them , it's like taking nothing at all. Withdrawals for me now.

How long did the withdrawal symptyoms last. ## Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, it is an SNRI antidepressant. How long the withdrawal symptoms last will really vary from person to person and a lot depends on how much they were taking and how long they were taking it. It could take anywhere from a few weeks to several months before things balance back out and you feel completely normal again. Learn more Cymgen details here. The worst withdrawal and rebound effects can usually be avoided by tapering it slowly, rather than abruptly discontinuing it. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I took Kapidex for 40 days. I stopped 5 days ago and now my insides are on fire and I have diarrhea. How long do the withdrawl effects last? ## Kapidex contains the active ingredient Dexslansoprazole, it is a Proton Pump Inhibitor used to treat conditions such as heartburn and GERD. That said, 40 days is not too long of a time to be on this, though some of what you are experiencing is probably a rebound effect from stopping it abruptly. The worst of the withdrawal effects should start to taper off after a week to 10 days, though some may still linger for a little while afterwards. Have you spoken to your doctor about this?

I have been on pain meds for over 2 years now and 4 days ago I quit cold turkey. How long will the hell of withdrawal continue? ## Hello, Misfit! How are you feeling? It can really vary depending on what you were taking and how high your dosage was, but the worst of it shouldn't last longer than a week or two. If they get very severe, then you should seek medical attention. What were you taking and how much? ## taking oxycodone 5mg tabs and taking only 3 a day for at least 2 years straight. dont think that is a lot, but it has been hell since i stopped.

Hello, I am currently withdrawing from Cymbalta. I was prescribed 90mg/daily and the requested to go down to 60mg. I recently switched jobs, so now I have no insurance to get anymore. I have tapered down to 30mg over the course of a month, then tapered down to 15mg, then 5. Now I am taking nothing. The brain zaps that I am experiencing are the absolute worst, Every time I blink, or look in a certain direction, even when I swallow, I get 2-3 brain zaps. It averages 100-200 a day. My head and back aches, I'm nauseous, I just don't know what to do. I keep crying too. I know that I have to go through with this. I feel so horrible. What can I do to ease this? I started taking 5HTP 100mg, because I read somewhere that this can help ease the transition. It does nothing. I am so lost. P...

Dr. took me off Klonopin after years of use. She obviously did not know how as she took me completely off in 8 days. I am going through the worst withdrawals. What can I do? ## Go to the hospital and tell them what she has done and unless you were taking meds that you not suppossed to be taking, she should have prepared you for this. ## Thank you for the reply Kelly. I ended up going to the hospital and they put me back on 1/2 the dose so that I can wean off slowly. Even though I felt terrible on the inside, my vitals were good. I feel better taking it now until I wean off slow. Thanks again, I appreciate the support. This is really hard, harder than I would have imagined. I'm waiting to see what the low dose will do to help my symtoms right now. Will post again later. Thanks again ...

I have been off Lexapro for almost a week now (1 year on 20mg) I am having horrible withdrawals eg. Feeling like Im being zapped through my head chest & arms, especially when I move, insomnia, feeling obsessive, feeling manic, no concentration, feeling like I'm not myself and so on.. I'm just wanting to know if there is anything I can do as I am so close to just starting back on them, I don't know if I can handle this ## Hello, Emily! How are you doing? Have things improved, at all, yet? That is fairly typical for withdrawal from SSRIs, according to the information provided by the FDA. Generally, tapering is preferred, rather than stopping cold turkey, to prevent the worst of the withdrawal and rebound effects. You may also experience nausea, chills and diarrhea. It usua...

I have been prescribed pain relief for th past 2/3 years.I have recently had surgery and am titrating myself of the medication. I have been on..Oxycontin 40 m.g twice daily, and. Gabapentin 600mg.3xtimes daily. What withdrawal symptoms,if any, should I expect? ## If you taper off of them, the withdrawal symptoms should be fairly mild, but you may still experience some nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and rebound pain. Learn more Oxycontin details here. Learn more Gabapentin details here. With the Gabapentin, the worst thing I had after trying it was a kind of fuzzy headed feeling that lingered for awhile. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Titrating? Do you mean withdrawing, or just maintaining on that dosage? I am not sure I understand your question. If you are planning to use Gabapen...

Methadone is the worst drug. There are alternative ways to detox from opiates. I experienced cold turkey withdrawals after being on methadone for 12 years (90 mg. daily). Living hell. Severe withdrawals lasted two weeks, but less severe withdrawals lasted two months. Further withdrawals lasted for months. I couldn't think, walk, write... I was so miserable. If you are on Vicodin, Norco, etc., don't switch to Methadone. You have no idea what you're playing with. Trust someone who's been there (clean date: 2/1/2005) ## Hello, Caowens! How are you? I'm very sorry about what you've been through, but also congratulate you on sticking it out and becoming clean. What are the effects of going off this drug (i.e. diarrhea, sweating/chills)? ## Ralivia ER contains a time released formulation of Tramadol and yes, it you have been taking it for a long time, it can cause some withdrawal effects, if you suddenly stop, just like any other medication would. How much have you been taking and for how long? It may be best to discuss it with your doctor and do a slow taper, to prevent the worst of the withdrawals.

Good day, my grandmother has been on azor medication for many years for nerves. The doctor said She should try cut on the dose as its not so good for Her at Her age, 79. She used to take 1 pill morning+night, She has dropped to half a pill at night. She is now experiencing blurred vision in the one eye, pain in Her head and a very sore throat going down her neck. Is this withdrawl effects? Is there a better alternative to azor that will work just as well without being a risk to Her health? ## I am using azor 1mg x 3 per day(suppose to) sometimes use 7 during day and night with 2 sleeping pills. What is the worst that can happen to my body and health? ## Hi, I am not an expert but I am currently going through withdrawal from Azor. I used to be on one 0,25mg for day and then again at nigh...

Hi all. I have seen a lot of posts in the drugs forum about Fentanyl withdrawal. I too have been struggling with the withdrawal symptoms for 10 days now. Trust me when I say it DOES and WILL get easier. I know that if you have just recently started a taper or have gone cold turkey because a taper hasn't worked for you, you're probably not feeling very well right now.Trust me when I say it will get better. It may take weeks to finally feel normal again, but the worst will be over before you know it! I was on 100mcg/hr for about a year, and just recently tapered to 12.5 but went through withdrawal anyhow. Here are a few things that might help, and that have helped me get through the worst of it. ****REMEMBER***** To consult your doctor before pulling yourself off any medication :)...

Was on Norco 10-325 on and off for a few years due to back problems. Had l4/l5 Laminectomy and was sent home with 5mg oxicodone. It's been 16 days since surgery and I tapered down from 2.5 yesterday. Last one last night at 10 pm. Withdrawals kicked in at 2:30 pm today! Not too bad. But the abdominal pain is bad when the immodium wears off. How long will this last and will it get better or worse physically tomorrow and the next day? No RLS yet. Is it comming???? I want to be done! ## Just wondering how your withdrawal experience went? I weaned the exact same way Im down to 2.5 mg tomorrow for two days then Im done. Just curious what Im in for?! ## I found the rebound pain to be the worst problem, when I stopped pain management, but I didn't taper. I just stopped. But I had extrem...

Hello. I was prescribed amitriptyline 25mg for chronic migraines two years ago. I am trying to wean myself off it now and am finding the withdrawal symptoms awful. Palpitations are the worst. My doctor prescribed a beta blocker last week but I still feel very anxious, slightly depressed and my heartbeat is still a bit out of sync. Is anyone able to help me with some advice as to how to get through this. I halved the tablets about two weeks ago. At first I felt fine then some symptoms starting popping up. ## Hi, Alison! I'm very sorry about what you're going through. This can happen anytime you've been on a medication for a long period of time and try to stop taking it. I did stop one cold turkey after being on it for years and it took about 6 weeks or so for the worst of the...

I do want to warn everyone that is taking Benzodiazepines. Xanax, Clonazepam, Klonipin, Ativan, Valium, etc.. THIS IS A PSYCHOTIC DRUG! ONLY TO BE USED FOR 2-4 WEEKS. I was put on them for yrs. I had terrible anxiety... the more anxiety I had, the more the doctor was upping my dose! It was the Clonazepam causing it. I went to a detox, they cold turkey'd me ~ TAPER SLOWLY. You will have the worst withdrawals and they are not like an opioid withdrawal! it takes weeks to over a year to go through the withdrawals. Trust Me I was a victim of such. READ UP ON THEM. See sites like benzo.org.uk then join a benzo group. They should be treated like an opioid. They can be worse than them. ## They are treated like an opioid these days. I took my last sub a week ago as of today. And throughout that week took 3 total 10 MG Lortabs. I tried detoxing before but it was too harsh. I have been taking plenty of vitamins and excersising. I'm wondering how long until I'm in the clear? ## How are you doing? Did you experience any withdrawal problems? The FDA lists withdrawal symptoms as possibly including nausea, fever, chills, rebound pain and diarrhea. What dose were you taking? ## I'm okay. Took a Lortab the other day because I am just so tired of being depressed. I know I shouldn't have but the depression is the worst

I've taken percocet 5's and 7.5's. Before and after knee surgeries. 7.5's are the best, but please everyone. The withdrawal from everyday use of percocet and especially oxycodone/oxycontin is like total death. You just want to die. The withdrawal lasts what seems like forever. Please be careful. Do not take heavy doses or for longer than 2 weeks tops. It's one of the worst withdrawals ever.
