Why Suboxone So Expensive
66 Topics FoundOk I was on subutex an now supposedly a state law n Tn that they can only prescribe tex to pregnant or nursing women. I now am prescribed suboxone tabs and many pharmacies turned me down even though they were on my list from the dr. So I went to Wal-Mart where I had been going and they had to order the tabs. When I got them they r called buna and r the half moon 155 white round pills, but they r like 8 something a piece! I tried using the GoodRx coupon but the pharmacist said they will only take coupons from the manufacturer and I don't even know who or what to look for. Can someone please help! I love feeling normal but its costing so much money! HELP! ## I have gotten the same spiel from my doctor about Subutex yet no law exists to support this claim. I have been on Subs for over ...
My son is in rehab and they started him on suboxone one 4md in morning and 8 mg in afternoon. I can't find a provider that prescribes this in northern Harford County Maryland (Not Dr. Gay Please) How much is sub for an entire month supply or even daily. ## this site does not prescribe nor sell any medications. The price, however, can vary depending on where you purchase them, it is, quite expensive, though and you will not find a cheap price for it. Do you have any type of insurance to help with this? Have you spoken to the doctors about the possibility of Methadone as an alternative, since it has been on the market much longer and is much cheaper? Most doctors do prefer Suboxone, now, since it has enabled many people to get completely drug free, while a lot of people who use Methad...
Suboxone/Subutex should be used one way and one way only. Start with the professionally recommended dose; (usually according to one's opiate intake) and ween off of it in 5-14 days. Any longer than that and it becomes a crutch, simply trading one demon for another. I know people that have been on it for 3yrs, and when it came time to stop...HELL. I took it for a year. Mistake. I suffered worse withdrawals from that then any other before. I relapsed. Relapsed with a plan of pure Will. I used vicodin for two weeks, weened myself off and suffered much, much less. Suboxone is powerful s***, not to mention expensive. I am a member of Pills Anonymous; therefore, I am speaking not only from my own experience, but dozens of others. Trust me; save yourself. Aloha ## Thank you for your post. ...
People who moan and go on about how expensive suboxone and dr visits are well it's pretty simple and I say this because I to take suboxone ,I have for 2yrs 2 months it's not cheap but neither was your addiction I'm not stupid 20yrs of addiction has taken everything away from me now it's slowly coming back at $1.00 a mg or more in some cases like oxy-codon or Percocet 30 s I've payed $40.00 dollars a piece and that barley scratched the surface in getting me feeling better was taking 3to 4 a day everyday and I afforded that so the suboxone is very affordable compared to getting opioids off the street so do your best to make it work people and god bless ## Dear Jimmy24z, I totally agree with u. I'm lucky enough 2 have health insurence, so, I only pay $40 a month 4 a...
I was an opiate addict for numerous different years and I went to inpatient and outpatient rehab but they never gave me suboxone. The second I got out of rehab I did more opiates, and I did them for another year or so and I tried suboxone and that is what I stuck with. Well it is getting very expensive and I was not getting myself off it very good and now I am pretty much addicted to that. If I can't find suboxone I usually find another opiate to take. My main question is, if I go to an outpatient rehab, is there anyway I could still get suboxone? I want to get off suboxone and other opiates and I do believe this would be the way to do it. Suboxone withdrawl is rough so any thoughts or anything would be appreciated! ## Hi Andy, I don't know how the outpatient clinic type places ...
Why do people stay on suboxone for long periods of time? I was on 8 , 10/325s a day for 6months, and I was able to get off opiates with 2, 8 mg pills of suboxone. I took a whole pill (8mg) the first day, 1/2 (4mg) the next day, 1/4 (2mg) the 3rd day, and I stopped taking it. I saved 2mg just in case I withdrew. But I had little to no wd's. I would relapse a few months later for about two weeks. And was able to get off the opiate with just one 8mg sub. By taking a 1/2, a 1/4, an 1/8, and an 1/8 the 4th day. No wds. Knowing I had access to the subs gave me a way to use the opiates recreationally cuz it felt good. Kinda wish it wasn't available. But if it wasn't, I'd be stuck on the opiate. Thankfully I haven't used in 16 months cuz it can get expensive. :-\ ## well I a...
I live in Kokomo, IN. I was on subs, but they require way to many na/as meetings. I have a full time job and 2 kids to look after. I heard there is a doc in Carmel that doesn't make you do these classes. I just need the medication cause I've been addicted to opiates for almost 20 years. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ## Most of the places I've tried make you find your own counselor which can be super expensive and difficult to get an appointment or else they won't prescribe you the medicine. I found a clinic opening in Carmel next month called Lucina treatment center which at least provides the counseling included in your cost so might give them a try. Can't be any worse than my current provider.
I think I'm one of the very few that is hypersensitive to the other ingriendent in suboxone (not the opiate)naloxine or however you spell it. Anyway I've had two days of hell I took 2 8mg hour later took two more felt like all the nerves in my body were fired up got leg jumps with maybe 1 hour sleep need advice I'm doing it w/o dr. help my sister is trying to help me I can't afford them ## I am coming of of 6- 5mg vicodin a day. this is my 2nd attempt at ddetoxing with suboxon, the first time i know i didnt wait long enough and i had nose bleeds i felt like i was going to die, but that was coming off os endocets 6 a day. i have googled and my girlfriend has done some research as to how long to wait and how many to take...since as one person stated it is so expensive to g...
Hi my name is Carrie and I'm from Hermosa Beach, CA.. I have been taking oral 8mg suboxone for months, as it really helps me and keeps me from popping 40 vicodin or norco's a day. I was on cobra with Blue cross when I began taking it, but it was too expensive. The cobra was 600 a month. Do you know of any independent rx coverage for suboxone? Right now i just paid 400 for 90 of them, and that's a one month supply. I'm better off taking the vicodins. I am disabled, but haven't gotten approved for medical yet. I have no insurance. If you have any suggestions, please help me, best regards. ## I am not sure if there are any assistance plans that cover it, or not. You can try the manufacturers website or contact number, some other programs are pparx.org needymeds.org and ...
mom of three and been an addict for 20years. did not use while pregnant but now I have lost control of everything. I have no extra money. I get my morphine and oxy free from my job. I'm not a nurse but I work with not so ethical ones. I can't get suboxone because of cost. I need to stop before I kill myself. I've tried cold turkey 7 times. I'm such a weak person I guess. I've overdosed twice. why is it so expensive. I just need help and can't afford it. is there any kind of programs I could join to get it cheaper? ## Have you considered treatment with Methadone at one of the clinics? I know it's not as effective as Suboxone, but it is much cheaper. Learn more Methadone details here. There used to be an assistance program for Suboxone, but I've been unable...
I was just wondering if some doctors prescribe Suboxone for pain? ## Most don't and from what I understand, insurance companies won't cover it for anything other than drug dependency issues. I have heard of a few people who have taken it for pain but its typically only prescribed for pain as a last resort because of other medical issues making the person unable to take anything else. Why are you trying to get on suboxone? Long term use of it for something like pain management is in my opinion a nastier habit to kick than regular opiates. The Dr Appts are very expensive and the withdrawal lasts months. If your concerned about taking opiates for pain I'd urge you to look into other alternatives. And if you're looking to get off of opiates for pain management just remember,...
Im want to kick my opiate addiction! I want to know how much suboxone will i need to take a day? Does it really work? How much does it cost?...etc... Ive been taking opiates for 10 years but only everyday for the past 4 years. I take 100mg-150mg of morphine or 20-30mg of methadone a day. I tried to quit cold turkey by slowly weaning myself down for about 2 weeks to nothing. What a mistake that was, even after 7 days of not taking anything i was just as sick as i was on day 1. I thought about getting on the methadone clinic but its too much of a hassle for me. I also dont want anyone to know about my addition, kinda hard to do when you need to go to the clinic everyday. I heard suboxone is expensive is it really worth it? I can live without being "high" but i cannot live threw th...
Hey I have a question and some info. I am getting ready to come off of 300 mgs of morphine. Started with vics, soon moved to 80mg of oxys, then to 100mg morphine tabs 3 times a day. I got into a suboxone clinic very expensive. I only pay 120.00 dollars for my morphine and now I have to go and pay 935.00 dollars for the first month without medication? I AM SCARED AND VERY NERVOUS TO START THIS...Any advice? And does anyone get there meds online? Figured if you can get narcotics why not the stuff to cure it? I have looked but I think it might be 2 new. Yes I will have a script for it in 8 days....HELP? ## Suboxone will not be easy to find from an online pharmacy, it is very closely regulated and legally can only be used under the supervision of a doctor who is specially trained in its use...
I was just switched from subutex to suboxone this month without notice and WOW suboxone is so much more expensive! Anyway, when I went to get my script filled I could only afford to get a few bcuz of the price. I went back the nxt day and got a few more while I had the money. Well the next time I went the pharmacist told me that it was "new" policy that I have to fill the rest all at once instead of a few at a time. I told them about my new situation and being switched over from subutex and how i was not prepared for how expensive suboxone was gonna be and they let me fill half of what i had left to get and I told them I would get the rest friday when I got paid. Well I was talking to my mother about it and she said she would give me the rest of the money to get the rest the nex...
Hi, Im needing some help and support. I'm 21 and I've been addicted to Norcos for 2 years, taking them every day. I was taking 10 a day, then was able to lower myself to 5 a day about a month before I detoxed. I flushed all my pills a little over a week ago an was given suboxone by a friend, to help me withdraw. I have no health insurance and each sub doctor I called was either way too expensive or they had no openings for new patients. So I took a quarter of suboxone, the orange pill, after 15 hours of withdrawal. Sub helped that day and the next day, but after that it had no effect on me and I'm wondering why? My friend who's been on it for months under a doctor's care, said its supposed to give u a little buzz and help with your cravings. But it hasn't worked ...
i have a friend who desperately wants to get off of methadone and pain pills. will suboxone work? is it addicitive too? if someone can please help me that would be great! also is it very expensive, that's what i've heard. ## Well, first off, yes, it can be addictive as well, however, it has distince advantages over narcotic meds, Benzos, and even Methadone. Suboxone works on many of the same receptors, since it is a narcotic agent, however, it does not give the same high effect and euphoria that most addicts enjoyed, which is what made them get addicted in the first place. It also contains an opiate neutralizer, so it neutralizes anything in your system from the other drugs you were using, and of course prevents someone from continuing to use while they are on it. Most people wh...
Please tell me why I can't find a physician that provides Suboxone and accepts insurance? ## Because only a limited number of doctors can prescribe Suboxone, they must take special training classes to be allowed to prescribe it. ## It depends what you mean by 'accepts insurance'. I 'accept insurance' in my practice.. I don't accept the insurance as 'total payment', though, because every insurer pays differently-- usually depending on how expensive the insurance policy is. Suboxone patients are treated exactly the same as any of the patients in my general psychiatry practice. One insurer may pay $30, and for the same service another insurer pays $150! So if my charge for the service is $155, the first patient will have to pay an additional $125, and the se...
If you or anyone you know needs a suboxone doctor, my doctor (Rene Perez) in Miami is accepting new patients. Tel: 786-373-7975. He doesn't take insurance but he also treats depression, anxiety etc, very caring, treats you like a human being and not expensive. ## I am trying to get off opiates and have used suboxone for a couple years off and on only through friends. It's very hard for me in this state of Washington to find a doctor that really understands that a prescription on going for a couple months or less would be so beneficial in me stopping my opiate addiction can you help me? ## call them up or text them at that number
I am on suboxene to get off medications for back injury. The doctor I'm going to charges $200.00 per visit plus the cost of the medications. Does anyone know if doctor's accept Medicare for the office visits? ## It actually depends on the laws of your state, some states have Medicare programs that cover it, some don't. Have you tried checking to see if the coverage is there? If they do, they may also direct you to doctor's that accept it. ## I've been trying to find out if doctors in Ohio, zip code 44471 take Medicare. I truly cannot afford the $200 doctor fee, plus the cost of meds. Having so much trouble with this. Any help will be appreciated. ## Thank you so much for your help. maxri ## Trying locate doctor Johnson city tn visit r not that expensive an give a mon...

( im older, 49) lls, I hear horror stories abt sub wd. I also heard that its expensive and that drs cut you off mid treatment, which is wd hell! 1) Will it ever be affordable? 2) Holy Cross in Pontiac has a good 4 mth sub program. But can't 4 mths get u hooked on sub? 3) What other options are there besides methadone? Im scared, confused, and cannot believe how bad my life and health is. I feel like im dying. If anyone has been to HCC, can u share ur experience. If anyone's been on H and is now sober, can u share how u did it? Im at ropes end.
