white oval pill 5898 ## I was prescribed this pill for a staph infection. It is supposed to be stronger than normal antibiotics for staph and also work on those staph infections that are the drug resistance ones. The pill is actually called cotrimoxazole ds--po tab. I'm assuming the PO meanby mouth then tablet. Thru searches I have found this to also be called Cotrim Oral and Bactrim as well. It states that there are alot of medications you can't be on to take this medication. I didn't take all of it, so I didn't real ly suffer any side effects. I did however see that it states it can make you dizzy and you should avoid prolonged or excessive exposure to direct and/or artificial sunlight and that you should take this medication with plenty of water. ## This pill is a com...

round white pill 54/583 ## Furosemide 40mg. It is used for: Treating fluid build-up and swelling caused by congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or kidney disease. It is also used in combination with other medicines to treat fluid build-up in the lungs. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. ## The identification provided by randolf is correct, this is a 40mg Furosemide tablet. Learn more Furosemide details here. However, the information about congestive heart failure is reversed of what's true, it doesn't cause fluid build up, it's actually fluid build up that causes congestive heart failure. I just wanted to clarify that. And this medication may cause side effects, since it does remove fluid from the body and they may include nausea, he...

Should i take this pill with food or without, or does it matter? I just got this today and wasn't sure. ## It can be taken whichever way works best for you. It can cause nausea as a side effect in some people that take it, if that happens, you may find that taking it with food helps prevents it, according to the NIH. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and dehydration. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've seen alot of confusion with this pill, but it is in fact vicodin (hydrocodone) ## Hello, Steven! How are you? The V on the tablet is just a manufacturers logo, it does not denote what the tablet is or what it contains. And no, this is not Vicodin, nor any other type of narcotic. A white, elliptical tablet with 58 98 on one side and a V on the other contains Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim, a generic for Bactrim, which is an antibiotic that's used to treat various types of infections. Learn more Bactrim details here. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. It is fairly common to be allergic to this medication, so if someone develops hives while taking it, they need to seek immediate medical attention. Is there anything e...

I have a white oval pill that says M 582 on one side and is blank on the other side. Could this pill be Percocet? ## I have never seen one like that before, nor heard of it ever being oval. Oxycodone is white, round and either says 512 or endo (depending on the maker). There is aso Roxixet, but I can't remember what it says on it...Hope this helps. Also, it depends on the strength. The ones I have described are 5/325 strength, but the 10 milligram tabs sometimes are oval. Call your pharmacy. Or even call a different pharmacy to compare what they have ## I think it is. I have m357 on my bottle, and it's hydrocodone, Vicodin, there is a number for all the meds.. ## It might be a Vicodin then, but Percocet is Oxycodone, not Hydrocodone. And I know Vicodin is oval ## all you need to...

I am now taking this pill imprinted with 5880 V for helicobacter pylori. In the past I was taking the MP 35 pill. I was feeling better taking the latter. Is there a difference between the two? ## Both of these tablets are listed as containing Spironolactone, which is a diuretic that is used to help remove excess fluid from the body, it is not used to treat H. Pylori. It is used to treat conditions such as high blood pressure, edema, and congestive heart failure. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. I have a bottle of these to use, when needed, due to the fact that I had congestive heart failure almost 8 years ago. Are you sure these are the correct medications?

capsule also with #'s 5889 below ## There are a vast number of pills with the marking 59911; I've pinpointed it down to a couple white oval pills, however 59911 is not the only marking on any of these pills. You would have to post back with the full imprint in order for me to locate an exact match. I was also unable to locate a match with the marking 5889 in several databases. This may be because the pill was discontinued a long time ago. Please post back if you can provide any other information regarding these pills.

I was prescribed sulfamethoxazole-TMP DS. The pill is oval with a V on the font and 58|98 on the back. It does not smell like sulfur at all, and my urine has not smelled of sulfur. Do I have the right medicine? ## Yes, you do have the right medication. Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim is a sulfur based antibiotic, but it is not actual sulfur, so it will not smell like it or cause your urine to smell like it. Side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more: Are there any questions or comments?
