Hi, I have been on methadone for pain for several years. I hate going to the methadone clinic because I am uncomfortable with most of the people using the clinic. However, finding a doctor that will accept out of state patients isn't something that's likely to happen. Due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, doctors have to be even more careful about prescribing medications and most now require that their patients live within a certain radius of their office. And even if you did get a doctor to prescribe, most pharmacies won't fill it if you and your doctor aren't both located within a certain radius of their store. I have a multitude of problems that cause me so much pain. But my current pain doc doesn't wanna prescribe me more than Percocet 3x a day. It's not helping my pain at all. Can anybody give me some advice or their own experiences with pain management doctors in Charlotte North Carolina? I suffer from chronic pain in my neck, lower back, and primarily in my left leg from a severe knee injury in '09. I broke my Tibia, Fibula, tore my acl, pcl, and the perineal nerve. My ortho surgeon said I had a 50/50 chance of having dropfoot due to the severity of nerve damage even if the reconstructive surgery went well. Luckily that did not happen, but I did have to have a 2nd surgery about 7 months later due to unexplained pain where my pcl is located and limited movement and strength gaining. In desperate need of a new psychiatrist willing to continue me on 100mg Adderall IR, plus 2mg/2x daily Xanax (or Klonopin). I’m located in WA, I’ve been prescribed these meds for the past 11 years, and have always just paid psychiatrists out of pocket because I have s***ty HMO coverage.
