What Is Strongest Pain Meds
16 Topics FoundMy husband has an abcess under his knee and it was cut and packed. What kind of pain meds should i ask for to help his pain once he goes home ## Hello, Yuvette! How is your husband doing? I'm sorry about the problem he's had. However, it isn't wise to ask the doctor for any specific medication. That is often viewed as being drug seeking behavior and will make most doctor's reluctant to prescribe anything. If he needs a pain medication, he should speak to his doctor about what to do for that pain, without asking for any specific drug. Is there anything else I can help with?
I've been taking the muscle relaxers flexeril 10mg 2x a day and or methocarbamol 750mg 3-4x a day. Neither of them work. What is the strongest relaxer I can ask my dr for. A new pain pill exstinded relief that starts with and a not avinsa ## Hi Eddie, What about the name Astramorph? It too is another brand of Morphine like Avinza. However, the difference is that Astramorph is an inj./epidural. And while I'm not sure how new it is or how long the relief lasts, inj's. are typically a lot stronger than oral pain meds due to increased bioavailability. Unfortunately I haven't heard of any other pain meds that start with an 'A', but if anything I hope this at least helps narrow down your search.
Which is stronger: oxycontin 20mg or morphine15mg? Please help. Doc just switched me. Pain management in Connecticut is reducing everyones meds. Is there ANY good drs. Or pain management centers besides Wallingford? Severe pain ## I live in Connecticut and they are cutting everyone back for pain meds. Dpes anyone know of a doctor or center where i might get proper medication? Im in severe pain and it gets worse and they keep cutting me down. ## Is 30 mg morphine sulfate cr stronger than oxycontin 40 mg er ## RE: "Morphine vs OxyContin strength comparisons" According to a clinical study done by NIH on the relative potency of controlled release oxycodone vs controlled release morphine in post operative pain - OxyContin was reportedly twice as potent as Morphine CR in a single dose...
I will be having wisdom teeth pulled. I would like to know what options are availiable for non narcotic pain relief. Preferably the strongest. I will be able to get a prescription, but I would like to avoid opiates or opioids. ## Wow, that's kind of difficult, because knocking out the opiates leaves only options for minimal pain relief. In many cases, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory would be prescribed, such as just a strong dose of Ibuprofen, but that can depend on how complicated the extractions are and how much you're bleeding afterwards. Learn more Ibuprofen details here. Are they being done in office, or as surgical extractions?
I am in need of help AGAIN as my current pharmacy decided to stop filling one of my pain meds. I am in too much pain to go driving from pharmacy to pharmacy and I would like to know if someone can help me. I have seen with my own eyes people getting oxycontin filled, and then i am right behind the person in line, and am told that they do not have norco or ms contin..LOL give me a break, but they have the strongest med out there? I am sick over this still going on in florida. How come nobody has done anything about this yet? This cannot be legal to discriminate. I am not even on that high of a dose of the norco and the other med was ms contin 15 mg only twice a day! I am pretty sure i CANT call them and ask as last time i was told they cannot tell that info by phone. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!...
I had 2 back surgeries in the last 2 years and the 1st failed(lumbar fusion), pain only gets worse and my doctor does not prescribe anything stronger than 5mg Oxycodones 4x day, I explained that they don't get the job done but he insists that this is the strongest he can go!!! Please help me, I am at Palm beach county but work in Broward so any of them work. Thanks ## You may want to consider a boston scientific spinal cord stimulator ... there are videos on YouTube by boston & several of those that had on implanted (djporkchop73 has 3 years of his experiences with his relationship & effects of his scs) I had one implanted in sept & my 30 day follow up appt is coming up.... there is a trial time of a few days that you wear on a belt (I was doing things I haven't been...
We found a bottle with two 15mg of oxycodone and two 80mg of oxycontin. Our friend had passed away and no one is sure why. While cleaning out their room we found this bottle with these in it. ## Oxycotten is one of the strongest nacodects prescribed the other is basically perkacet without the asprin big difference between the two as far as strength oxycotten is way stronger that the other..hope it helps ## I have fibroymyalgia, besides other medication i've been taking oxycodone 10/325 I have been taking for 6yrs to manage my pain it works good and although im still in pain i am comfortable. Hi. I have a question about fentanyl. I'm on 25+12mg every 72hr but still in a lot off pain. Now I heard from a friend that oxycodone 80mg is stronger. I'm in the pain clinic and my dr said my insurance (bmc) doesn't cover the oxycodone. Can anyone tell me if I can pay for the meds with cash? ## Hello, Caroux! How are you? No, Fentanyl is the strongest narcotic available, it is even stronger than Oxycodone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, you may need a medication for breakthrough pain, in addition to the patches. Most doctors will prescribe a low dose Oxycodone or something similar. Have you let your doctor know that your current ...
Had back fusion surgery. Only 6 weeks of low dose norco. Ended up with nerve pain in my foot (zapping shocks that will take the strongest person down). Ortho doc said It would go away possibly in 6 weeks, maybe longer. Ortho surgeon they will never give anyone any opioids past 6 weeks no matter what. He tells me to go to pain management but he does not recommend or refer for any one of his patients to a pain management clinic. Says he does not want the responsibility of that. Truth is he doesn't want docs asking why he give very little pain meds or have his patients being referred back to him. He said to go to my regular doc. So I did see my regular doc and they said I have to go back to my surgeon as it's his responsibility. One time the pain was so bad I went to ER, they said ...
What is the difference between Norco, Percocet and Lortab? I have a script for all three. I have cancer and wondered which one is the strongest. I don't need all three pain meds if one is better than the other. Thank you. ## Hey CLM, the Norco and Lortab both contain the active ingredient hydrocodeine so basically the same medicine just different brand name. Unless they are a different dose 5/325 vs 10/325 then they are the exact same medication. Percocet contains oxycodone as the active narcotic and is stronger than the other two you mentioned. One may work better than the other for you personally but Percocet is the stronger of them. I hope this helps and the best of luck! ## Sorry for the typo, norco and lortab contain hydrocodone ## Lortab, and Norco both contain Acetaminophen, ...
I will be switching from Ms Contin to Palladone this weekend. Has anyone tried it? What are the advantages? disadvantages? over the other long term Pain meds? ## Palladone is actually considered milder than the Morphine, and Oxycodone is the strongest narcotic. So I am not sure why you are switching or if it will help you more than the morphine. ## Well the morphine is givining me violent headaces as it did in another preperation I took years ago. I can't stand methadone, taking so many pills a day and my insurance doesnt cover oxyContin at all. So being that I have had had success with dilaulidid as a good breaktrhough med my doc felt we should try it carefully as a base med.
Hi I'm on 100 I do know when they run but they don't desalt seem to do much what is better then this for osteo pain? Thanks ## Fentanyl is the strongest narcotic opiate available on the market, it is over 80 times stronger than Morphine. Learn more Fentanyl details here. How often do you change the patches? What other medications have you tried? ## I hope by now you've found a medication or mixture of meds that are helpful. As there are too many people handing out bad information & using these sorts of places to find drugs, it's not proper to ask for names of "better" medications. There are medications stronger than fentanyl & for osteo pain; a mix of NSAIDs & narcotics, as well as physical therapy & exercise, have been proven to be most beneficia...
K its been a month and two weeks since i had back fusion..im in pain and want to know how long will this pain last..how long does it take till i get better?.. meds im taking r not working well..dr said he dont know what els to give me and that i need..pain management but workers comp keeps deydenying pain management so i just want to get better..and this 30mg oxycodone and 80 mg oxycotin is not working..im use to it and want to know whats better ## I am very sorry that you're in pain. However, there's really no way to say when your pain will stop, it can vary from person to person and is highly dependent on how fast you heal and how successful your surgery was. The strongest opiate available would be Fentanyl, it is available in time released patches that you change every 3 days...
I saw a new PM doctor yesterday. He was extremely nice as far as his personality. But when it came to the medications, he just wouldn't listen. I have a very low tolerance for strong pain meds. The strongest I can go is a Lortab 10/500 (which I've been on since 2005 successfully). Anything above that makes me sick or euphoric along with other challenging side effects. The only side effect from the Lortab I dealt with was dry mouth. No biggy. This new doctor doesn't believe in the short acting medications as a primary source of pain relief. Even after I explained to him that ever since I was a pre-teen, the long acting medications make me sick. I can take the exact same medication in short acting form and be just fine, but continuous is a disaster. Yesterday at my appt he put...
I have been on the butrans 20 mcg patch for 3 months and am getting ready to switch to the fentanyl 25 mcg patch. Will I get same amount of or better pain relief? Also, my Dr refuses to keep me on this patch. Is it wise to even start it then? ## Hi Roxie, To my knowledge, Fentanyl is the strongest prescribed pain reliever available. So my theory is that it should provide a greater sense of pain relief. However, because we all react/respond differently (and since no two meds are created equally), the only way to know for certain would be to try them both first-hand and make an assessment after giving your body some time to adjust to any changes. On the other hand, if your doctor is only planning on prescribing Fentanyl temporarily (i.e. giving you a band-aid and ripping it off) I don...
