Hi there, I had a snowboard accident this weekend and hurt my coccyx. Pulmison was prescribed for 5 days, 20mg, 2 in the morning for 3 days and 1 in the morning for 2 days. I don't like corisone and don't want to have more health problems after this. I'm very healthy and fit. My concern is the weight gain and acne and rash as i dont have any of these problems. My question is how likely is it for me to experience these after taking this for 5 days? Or is there a better alternative? Please advise as I'm supposed to start this morning. I'm 74 years old. I woke up and felt dizzy one day, so my Dr. prescribed Pulmison 20mg (4 tablets/day for 5 days). After taking it the 1st day I broke out with a red rash on my face and body; my face is lightly swollen. I took the tablets now for 3 days and want to stop. Please advise. ## You may be allergic to this medication, so it could be dangerous for you to continue taking it, or to ever take it, again. The NIH lists those as possible allergic reaction symptoms. Have you had this checked out by your doctor? What reason did they say they were prescribing the Pulmison?

40mg pulmison was described once a day for 30 days as I was diagnosed with sarciodoses last week. Lungs, skin, eyes affected. Diagnoses was made after a mayor operation where lymphnodes were removed from my chest and lungscarring was detected, biopsy was done and this was the results.

After twice being prescribed Pulmison as part of the treatment of allergic asthma I got severe muscle cramps about 3 days after stopping the course. The first course in April was for 3 days and the second in June for 5 days. The muscle cramps were so severe that I could not walk. Both calves and feet cramped up. Bending over to try and rub them meant my diaphragm went into spasm and then may back and then my neck and forearms and fingers. It was unlike a usual muscle cramp in that I was unable to release the cramp with warmth, massage or pressure and that the cramps kept moving around. This happens usually at night and lasts for a couple of days. I do have quite a magnesium rich diet so I am sure it is not a lack of magnesium and certainly didn't feel like the sort of muscle cramps ...

I took pulmison 20mg 2x daily for 6 months for sarciodoses. I experience constant pain in all my joints since i stopped taking the tablets. It's been 2 months and the pain still persists. Is this normal and for how long will this carry on? ## It is difficult to say whether this issue has been caused by the medication, or the medication issue, since Sarcoidosis is known to cause the growth of inflammatory cells, in various parts of the body, which could also cause such pain, according to NIH symptom lists. Are you on any other medications? Has your doctor advised any further treatment? ## Not on any medication at present. No further medication has been prescribed. I have given up.
