Does anyone know does this medication works for swollen feet and ankles? ## It helps me very much. ## I have been taking Furosemide for a couple of years now and it definately helps with swollen feet and ankles. I take 40mg twice a day. I have never had any problems taking this medicine. ## My daughter has been prescribed Furosdmide 20mg and Diamox 500 mg for idiopathic intracranial hypertension. She has been on them 7 days and so far has not had increased urination. Has anybody who has been on these drugs know how long it usually takes for this to kick in? What are the side effects of Furosemide? ## As with many diuretics, Furosemide can cause dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, including loss of potassium, calcium, sodium, and magnesium. It is especially important to prevent potassium loss. Excessive use of Furosemide will most likely lead to a metabolic alkalosis due to hypochloremia and hypokalemia. It should be used with caution in horses with liver problems or electrolyte abnormalities. Overdose may lead to dehydration, change in drinking patterns and urination, seizures, GI problems, kidney damage, lethargy, collapse, and coma. Hi, i was put on Ciplavasv on the 20th December.. i wasn't told why.. 1 per day.
