What does the sod stand for on phenytoin sod ext its a 100 mg purple and white capsule ## Why is it becoming more difficult to find xanax on The streets? ## What does SOD DR EC mean on the Diclofenac bottle? ## The SOD stands for Sodium, it designates the specific chemical salt that the medication is derived from, that's why some list sodium, some list hydrochloride and etc. As to the DR on a prescription, just like XR, SR, ER and quite a few others, it designates that medication as being time released. As to the EC, from what I've found, it's used similar to ES, DS and etc. to designate that as being an extra strength dosage, rather than the standard prescribed amount. Are there any other questions or comments? ## My perscription bottle says. Metformin 500mg Tab.**RDS WHAT ...

I want to know what DR means after the prescription name. The pill is Divaloprex DR 500 mgs. ## It stands for delayed release, designating it as a time released formulation, rather than one that released all of the medication, at once. Other commonly used abbreviations for this can include SR, XR and several others. Divalproex, also known as Valproate Semisodium and is most commonly used to treat the manic episodes associated with Bipolar disorder. Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, weight changes and decreased coordination. ## Bipolar youth is significantly more agitated, upset, looking sad, when given depakote med 500 mg. without the DR on label. I have left a message at new clinic, but receptionist says it shouldn't affect him. Also the color and smell is different, and...

I have morphine sulfate tablet (100)mg and wanted to know what CR means? I know the R is for release but what is the C stand for?, Thanks ## Controlled, this means that it's a time released formulation, which would be a generic for MS Contin, other similar markings that mean the same thing are XR, SR and ER. This is a narcotic, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. Learn more: Is there anything else I can help with?

I take keppra xr twice a day can i take flexall muscle relaxer pill while taking this medication. ## Hello, Dee dee! How are you? Did you mean the muscle relaxant Flexeril? If so, I didn't find any interactions listed between these medications, but it's always best to double check this information to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Flexeril as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Keppra's side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, mood swings and weight changes.

I was prescribed seroquel xr only for sleep 150 mg for about 3 to 4 years. Gained about 30 lbs Read on other forums there is no hope getting the weight off when you wean off the drug. Well not true for me anyway. I have been off for 3 months and have lost 16 lbs so far and not dieting. Nothing So wanted to give others hope that it is possible. ## Hi Donna Weikel, It's quite unfortunate that some prescription medications can cause weight gain, but at least you were able to lose the weight you gained while on Seroquel xr once you stopped taking it! Everyone's body is different so even though some people may not have luck with losing the weight, it doesn't mean that it will be that way for everyone. I'm sure your post will be very helpful to those currently dealing with wei...

What does the XR part of the subject RX mean? ## It is just one of several abbreviations used to denote that the medictaion is a sustained release or controlled release formulation. This means that instead of being released all at once, the tablet has been specially formulated to slowly release the active ingredient over the relevant number of dosing hours. Are there any questions or comments?

My doctor changed me from Effexor XR capsules 37.5 mg. to 37.5 mg Venlafaxine XR (white tablet). I am now having a lot of vertigo/dizziness. Has anyone else experienced this with the switch to generic Effexor XR? ## I too am having dizziness since the switch. I have been taking the generic for a little over a week. I also experienced a bout w/ nausea and vomiting. That could be a coincidence. ## I notice a definite difference in the new generic. I feel a bit depressed. I also notice that if for some reason I miss my dose, even for a few hours I get the head zaps...if you know what I mean. I missed a dose completely yesterday and I feel sick to my stomach. I took it right away and am feeling a bit better. It is definitely different that the real thing. ## I am having the exact same probl...

What does XL and IL mean on prescription drugs. ## Hello, Theresa! How are you? The various markings like this are just different abbreviations to denote that a medication is in a time released formulation, you may also see DR, SR, DA, SA, XR and others. It's just something that it seems the pharmaceutical community has gotten a bit carried away with. They need to decide on one universal one, so things are less confusing. Is there anything else I can help with?

How long does it take before a xanax er 2 mg starts working ## Xanax ER? ## Yes it is extended release formula I instead of instant release ## Of course, Xanax XR ## ER, XR, SR, CR and others all mean the same thing, they just designate the medication as being a time released formulation, so it doesn't really matter which abbreviation someone used, or which their pharmacy uses. As to how long it takes to start working, it will start entering your blood stream and having some effect within about 15 to 20 minutes of taking it. Learn more Xanax XR details here. This is a benzodiazepine, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache and irritability. I was just told by a costco pharm. that d-amphetamine salt com xr has been discontinued ## It hasn't been discontinued, but there is a current supply shortage, reported to the FDA by all manufacturers. As supplies improve, they are shipping it to various pharmacies on an allocated basis. In the meantime, the only thing I can suggest is checking with various pharmacies to see which one has it in stock, or talking to your doctor about using an alternative medication in the meantime. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Dextrose-amphetamine salt is not the only ingredient, so even if it was cancelled, which is is not, it wouldn't discontinue Adderall.

I was given levoflaxacin when I was admitted into the hospital for fluid overload in July of this year 2017. See ,i am in dialysis, have lupus , have a pacemaker and had a transplant once. My primary Dr. Was present at the time of my admission and requested an xray, which showed that my chest was clear of infection. But once he left me to the residents of the dialysis unit, they lied to me and said that i had pneumonia and started an iv drip. Did not know right away that it was levoflaxacin or how much they gave me, or what the side effects were, but now , i know that they meant to harm me and it seems that because I don't have any money, i can't do anything about it. I am wondering if there are any interactions that I should be aware of with using the Albuterol Inhaler along with Adderall XR for Adult ADD. ## Hi Susan, Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between Albuterol and Adderall XR. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate. On a side note, there are moderately unsafe interactions found between Adderall XR and alcohol: "Alcohol may potentiate the cardiovascular effects of amphetamines." "Concomitant use of amphetamines and alcohol should be avoided if possible, especially in patients with a history of heart disease." I hope this information helps! ## Hi i was just wondering if there are any ...

My pill bottle has 2 different tablets in it. The label says Diclofenac 100 mg. One tablet is round and peach-colored with GG 904 printed on one side. The other one is a same-size round pink with 93 on one side and 1401 on the other. ## GG 904 is Diclofenac XR 100 mg and I also located the other pill but it says 93 1041 instead of 93 1401. 93 1041 is also round and pink, this pill is Diclofenac 100 mg. The only difference is the first pill is XR (Extended Release), meaning it lasts longer in your system. To learn more click on the link below... Do you have any more questions or information to add?
