I have an abscessed tooth, and my dentist prescribed me vicodin 5/300. Every 4-6 hrs as needed. If one doesnt do the trick do you think it would be safe to take 1 and a 1/2 to 2 every 4-6 hrs as needed? ## It should be fine. Your tooth should stop hurting in 2-3 days and you'll have left overs anyways. Don't take more than you need though or we will see you back on here asking how to kick opiate addiction. I Took my prescription to a pharmacy to be filled and they said they couldn't fill it because that strength 10 325 doesn't exist anymore with Vicodin. They said the doctor should've made the prescription out for either 10/300 or Norco 10/325. I went to another chain pharmacy and they said there was no problem at all and they filled the prescription and said the law allowed them to generically fill the prescription with either Norco 10/325 or Vicodin 10/300 which ever they had available as long as it wasn't over 10/325. Need opinions for hydrocodone, specifically Vicodin 10-300 manufactured by Tris Pharma. I have had bad experiences with several generics of hydrocodone recently, like many people, the terrible headache & NO pain relief - such as white Watson & Mallinckrodt. Don't want to overdo it. But pain is horrific. How many Vicodin 's(10-300) are potentially lethal? ## Hi John, While there's no exact number of pills for a potentially lethal dose, I can tell you that for your own safety, the FDA recommends NO MORE THAN 4000mgs a day of Acetaminophen, and that is to be spread out over a 24hr period - NOT to be taken all at once. They also state in their warning that anything over 325mgs in a sitting has been shown to cause liver damage/failure; which from my understanding can eventually lead to death if liver damage is severe. So why don't you just ask the doctor for something stronger if Vicodin isn't cutting it? The tablet with the BP 643 10 on it contains 300mgs of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone, while the one with the HP 10 660 marking contains 660mgs of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone. I have hydrocodone 5/500. I got 30 tablets from Walmart for 25 cents each! No insurance. These price differences are crazy. But I can see how the 10mg ones would be double that price because the non-acetaminophren part (the Hydrocodone itself) is the narcotic, but more than $1 a pill just doesn't seem right.

I started on prednisone for extreme knee and hip pain. Can't sleep. No relief yet. Can I take hydrocodone? I took Tylenol several hours ago with no relief from that either. ## I was put on Celebrex, 200 mg, for severe hip pain and arthritis. Can't mix Advil (only Tylenol) which does nothing for me. Tried cutting a 5/300 Vicodin in half and that sure helped take the edge off. Am going to discuss further with my neuromuscularskeletal doctor. Trying to avoid an epidural shot and surgery. what is a white oblong pill with the imprint ip 207 on it? ## Hi dale, From what I could gather, a white oblong pill imprinted with IP 207 reportedly contains 7.5mgs of Oxycodone + 325mgs of Acetaminophen, prescribed for moderate to severe pain. I haven't verified the manufacturer, but I believe it may be a company called Amneal Pharma, who is known to manufacturer similar pills with an "IP" imprint followed by a three-digit set of numbers.
