I am aged 52 yrs. Using tryptomer SR since last 5 months. Previously I was given tryptomer 25mg for 1&1/2 months.then tryptomer SR is continuing what type of side effects can be happened if I am continuing it for more than 8 months or more.

I GOT HERPES recently and took tablets valcivir for 10 days. and now dr. advised me to take tryptomer sr for 2more weeks.how far is it safe? should that be taken? ## Tryptomer contains the active ingredient Amitriptyline, which is a tricyclic antidepressant that's also used to treat some nerve pain. I am 45 year old lady taking Tryptomer SR 50mg for the past year. However, if I stop taking the tablet I cannot seem to get any sleep and then a headache tends to develop. Should I be concerned about any unusual side effects from either taking or abruptly stopping this medication? ## Only your doctor can say whether or not it is safe for you to continue taking this medication. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings, and weight changes. Are you on any other medications? Have you consulted a doctor about taking this medication?

I am also taking 100mg tryptomer per day taking 25 mg twice morning evening and 50 mg once at night.I do so because despite taking 50mg sr at night I experience some anxiety in day time Its helping me any ways besides I ' m fine with my epilypsy ## My doctor had advised me to stop taking tryptomer as it is an antiepilypsy Drug . ## Tryptomer contains the active ingredient Amitriptyline, which is an antidepressant that is also useful in treating anxiety. It is not an anticonvulsant. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?
