I have been taken these capsules daily for restless legs and pain, for the past two years I had Arterial Fibrilation - Tachycardia ## Hello, Annette! How are you? Have you ever experienced it before? Do you have any other medical conditions? Do you take any other medications?
I have had tachycardia and high bp for a week now. I went to the ER cause my resting HR got it 146. My normal values are 120/78 and HR low 70s. In the past week my hr has been between 90-100. I'll even wake up at night with HR bring 100. I can't even stand up without it spiking my HR. I had quite a few blood tests, EKG, echocardiogram and holter monitor and everything has come back fine. In 24 and healthy.... I've have never ever has and heart issues before. My GP gave me 5mg of bystolic to get my HR down til we figure it out. I've also stopped my newer BC pill that I started a little over two months ago to see if that caused the high bp? If I develop any bad side effects from this, because it's a low dose can I just stop taking it? ## BC pills can cause these types ...
So I have just recently moved from the USA to Italy and I take Toprol XL 25 mg. It works great at lowering my heart rate. However I have gone from pharmacy to pharmacy and have been unable to locate it. All they have here is something called (Metropolol Hexal) and it doesn't work hardly at all, my HR is constantly in the 90-100's and I am taking the same dose. Is there any other medication I can take so this doesn't happen? Or are there certain pharmacies in Italy that DO carry Toprol XL? Thanks.
Filed under Toprol XLFor two days I've had episodes of supra ventricular tachycardia which last much longer than usual with a pulse rate over 150. Should I just relax and rest? ## How long have they been lasting? Learn more Tachycardia details here. Are you on any medications for it? Is this a confirmed medical diagnosis? I was perscribed clonodine for tachycardia but have also been on suboxone for 6 years..which I would love to get off of. After research I see this drug also helps with the withdrawals.. can I use the clonodine to help withdraw from suboxone? Will I withdraw from the clonidine also if I stop taking it? Is it just another drug that I'll be physically addicted to? ## It's really hard to say, since we are all different, so much of it depends on you and your metabolism. But yes, Clonidine has been known to help with withdrawal symptoms according to FDA reports, and yes, you may experience some withdrawal symptoms from it, if you stop it abruptly, however, it depends on how much you were taking and how long you were taking it. What dosage are you taking? ## I just started taking the c...
My daughter has been suffering for several years and we have seen specialist after specialist all saying she is fine but she has purple cold feet upon standing, rapid heart beat upon standing, digestive problems, sleep problems, no energy, etc. etc. which are debilitating. We have recently read about POTS but she is afraid to be turned away by yet another doctor. Does anyone know of a doctor/specialist in Edmonton, Alberta, who is familiar with this disease? Thank you so much! ## Being in the U.S, no I am not familiar with any doctors there. However, has she tried any of the suggested lifestyle changes that can help treat and improve the condition? Learn more POTS details here. ## Thank you for your response. Since hearing of POTS about 2 weeks ago, we have been reading all we can. And ...
I have tachycardia, that normally is only a problem if I get o er a certain weight, but last June I was electrocuted by my range hood and my weight is no longer an issue with the tachycardia, in fact now I also have issues with low heart rate... I only take half of a 25 mg Metropolol up to twice a day, because I also have low blood pressure to begin with. But even taking the half a metropolol right now is not helping me much. My heart rate is almost on a cycle of constant fluctuation. When using a monitor I can see the pulse rate and sinus rythym and at times it completely stops then jump starts again... Believe me I am one tired out cookie!!! I have had one night so far where I woke up in pain feeling like there was something sitting on my chest, I could feel my heartbeat, felt it stop...
I have experienced tachycardia with EKG changes. Can levoxly while on chemo be potentiated in levels or effects on my metabolism? ## Yes, but just the Levoxyl can do it. That happened to me and I am only 23 and not on chemo. It went away after a day and the doc said not to worry. Im not sure what that would mean for you, though. I just know it can make a person go tachy.

I am taking bisoprolol 5 mg daily for tachycardia. I now have a lung infection for which I usually take azithromycin and prednisone. How do these pills interact? I desperately need to take the antibiotics, and prednisone, SO i WON'T END UP IN THE HOSPITAL. ## There are no interactions found (in the drug databases I checked in) between Bisoprolol and Azithromycin; however, this does not necessarily mean no interactions exist. ALWAYS consult with your doctor or pharmacist. I did check and find that there "are" interactions between Prednisone and Bisoprolol: Corticosteroids (Prednisone) may antagonize the effects of antihypertensive medications (Bisoprolol) by inducing sodium and fluid retention. Patients on prolonged (i.e., longer than about a week) or high-dose corticosteroid...
My caridologist just prescribed Dilitiazem for tachycardia and I have taken just two doses. This morning on my morning walk I had difficulty climbing a hill that I have climbed daily for the last five years. I know this is from the Dilitiazem. My question is will this weakness go away with continued use or will the weakness increase? ## You should call your cardiologist and consult with them about it. While it may be just a side effect, there is also a chance that it could be due to other problems or complications and it's best to discover which it is, before proceeding with any course of action. Have things improved, any?
Hi. I have been taking propanolol 80 mg LA for tachycardia, panic attacks, palpitations, and benign PVC's since age 19. I am 52 now. I have been taking it without any problems for years, it changed my life. Recently the opposite is happening, I have had a much slower heartbeat -- 52 on the propanolol, and I'm more tired on it. I have been under a lot of stress this past year and am feeling the after affects. I would like to take a lower dosage of propanolol to keep my heart rate in the normal range. I tried going without my 80 mg capsule last night but felt anxiety, PVC's, and headache. I am thinking about carefully opening the 80 mg capsule, pouring out half, then putting it back together to get a half dose. That way I could still have the long acting capsule in my system w...
I've been taking MT (for sinus tachycardia) 25mg twice a day for a month now and I've been feeling weak some days. I was told that vitamins can help me get my energy back. With that said, is it safe to do so? The vits contain Calcium 100mg, Magnesium 100mg & Potassium 15mg. ## There are no problems listed between using the vitamins with the Metoprolol, but you should check with your doctor first. Magnesium and Potassium can both have an effect on your heart and blood pressure, if they are too low, or too high, which means that in your case, a careful balance must be maintained. This, it would be best if your doctor did a blood test to check your levels of them, before you supplement. Have you consulted your doctor?
I have been taking Inderal LA 80 for about 25 years and it has really controlled my tachycardia and palpitations. But insurance is getting less and less on coverage and I am thinking of switching to the generic Propranolol ER 80. I just don't want to take the chance that it will not to the exact same as the Inderal. Has anyone switched and seen a difference? I'm really nervous to switch, but the cost is getting prohibitive. ## Have you discussed it with your doctor, or pharmacist? They may know from other patients, of a particular manufacturer that's reliable. There can be some fluctuations in the active ingredient of generic medications, but it's very small and usually only affects people that are very sensitive to medications. ## I was switched to the ER from the SR Pr...
I started taking metoprolol 25mg. Half in morning and half at night.3 weeks ago for tachycardia brought on by anxiety, ekg normal, chest xray normal, cbc normal, last couple of days i wake up at night to my heart pounding and sometimes a chest pain that comes and then is gone just that fast, i woke up and checked my resting pulse to be up to 115 to 120, then goes back down after a few minutes,bp normal. kind of scary why would this be happening, also went to hospital a week ago for stomach pains, did a ct scan with contrast and was told i was constipated. could this be related? never had this problem before, and no treatment is helping it. please let me know. ## Hello, Karen! How are you doing? There is a chance it may be related, anything that can cause pressure on your vagus nerve cou...
I'm a 25 year old female and I've been on 50 mg Toprol XR for several years now for Tachycardia. I've had Tachycardia my whole life, but wasn't put on medication until a few years ago after a full heart workup. I've noticed that my libido has dropped considerably as well as my ability to achieve orgasm. I am also on 300 mg Wellbutrin XR and a BC Pill. I know the BC pill can have that affect as well, but I noticed the side affect more so when I went from 25mg to 50mg of Toprol, so my suspicion is that it is that medication. I've done some internet research and it seems that Bystolic has less of an impact on libido than other Beta Blockers. My question is, for those who have switched to Bystolic, have you noticed any difference in libido? I am thinking of making an...
My cardio dr had put me on maintenance meds acebutolol 200mg once daily for almost 2 years for tachycardia. My HR goes up to 90-110 without this medication, had normal EKG and normal heart ultrasound. I am planning to get pregnant again, i wonder if it's possible for me to discontinue this medication? I am really scared of what might be the effect for my baby. thank u ## Have you discussed these concerns with your doctor? There have been no actual studies done regarding the use of Acebutolol during pregnancy, however, animal studies have shown it to be able to be used safely during pregnancy and it has been used by pregnant human mothers, as well, with no reported ill effects to the baby. ## thank you for your response. My first cardiologist who prescribe me with acebutolol said its...
