What are the side effects of Seroquel? ## I was put on 25mg. of seroquel 7 months ago for trouble sleeping. While taking even this low dose I started having severe back and legs pain. Spent all kinds of money during 6 months going to massage therapist and chiropractor as I was so tight with horrible pain, plus I had no appetite, was extremely fatigued, I have been having horrible headaches everynite so I decided I needed to get off this crap. The Phsychicatrist that gave it to me said to cut 1/4 tablet for 2 to 4 weeks which would help with withdrawals. Well its been 17 days of cutting1/4 tablet less and I am still suffering from nausea, headaches, sleep problems, no energy whatsoever, and above all cannot eat, no appetite at all.I have read that the 1/4 tablet the doctor tole me to cut...

My son has been diagnosed with ADHD and OCD. He tried Zoloft and it was like someone shot him full of speed. My doctor and I discussed the possiblity he could be bipolar. He first tried him on Abilify. After two pills, he went into a manic episode so we took him off the meds. We then tried Seroquell. He took half of a 25 mg pill within two hours he was so drowsy he could not keep his head up. The next day, he was very tired and complained of headaches. He developed diarrhea. We went to the movie theater and go very upset. He was scared of the movie and wanted to leave. He sat by a big man and it made him very nervous. We had to get up and leave because he was so upset. These are not normal behaviors for him. Can he get like this after one dose of Seroquell? ## Yes, while these are not c...

Quetiapine, sold under the brand name Seroquel among others, is an atypical antipsychotic medication used for the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder.[6][7] Despite being widely used as a sleep aid due to its sedating effect, the benefits of such use do not appear to generally outweigh the side effects.[8] It is taken orally.[6] Common side effects include sleepiness, constipation, weight g...

I would like to know if anyone has experienced skin and muscle mass changes while on Seroquel? I was put on this medication by my psychiatrist almost a year ago to help with manic depressive disorder and sleep problems. At first it seemed to do a wonderful job with minimal side effects (increased appetite and a bit of a dry mouth). I then was given a gradual increase in dosage when sleep problems started to become a problem again. At the increased dosage of 400 mg daily, I noticed that my skin was suddenly taking on a crinkly, crepe paper like appearance and there was a dramatic change in my leg and arm muscle mass with dramatic weakness and leg muscle pain so severe at night that it awakens me from sleep. My skin has become so paper thin that when I shave my legs, they bleed. At the ag...

theraquil side effects ## I think this poster may have been referring to the prescription medication Seroquel, which contains the active ingredient Quetiapine. It is an atypical antipsychotic that's used to treat conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. This class of medications do tend to cause some side effects that can be problematic, such as sedation, severe drowsiness and weight gain. There are more Seroquel details available here. Although, I will admit when I'm wrong, so if anyone does know of one under the name Theraquil, I'd greatly appreciate your posting and directing me to information on it. Are there any questions or comments? ## There is a medication called theraquil.

My Doctor prescribed this med. for sleeplessness. About three weeks later I felt pressure in my head, felt faint, short of breath, or like a very bad hang over, or like I've been poisoned. Plus a high rise in blood pressure. I don't drink or do illegal drugs. I stopped taking the drug and feel 90% better. The only thing is I can't sleep now, I get about 2 hrs a night. ## I've been taking seroquel/quetiapine. What can i do for sleep when I'm not taking these drugs? ## Take Diphenhydramine. It's OTC and safe. ## I've been on quetiapine for the last 4 years. If I continue taking quetiapine for my entire life does it become harmful or cause any side effects? In recent days, I stopped regularly checking-in with my doctor. ## Take an actual sleep aid, unless you ac...

I was taking 100 MG of Prestiq, 300 MG of Seroquel, and 150 MG of Wellbutrin. I slowly whinned myself off of everything, but the Prestiq. I lowered my dose from 100 to 50 mg's, and stayed on that for 2 weeks. I quit taking the 50 mg's of Prestiq on Sunday. I am having withdrawl side effects. The side effects include extreme nausea, headache, throbbing in my head and ears, dizziness, vomiting, irratability, and I snap at the least littlest thing. I feel like I have no control over my emotions. Has anyone went through this before? How long will the side effects last? ## I didn't do it with Pristiq, but yes, I did stop taking 100mgs of Zoloft, cold turkey. Pristiq is an SSNRI antidepressant, since this affects the chemical balance in your brain, it can be as hard to get off of ...

I have 50 mg tablets and they expired on 2/20/2015. I recently found them buried in my closet and started taking them. What harm can it cause? ## No harm, but they may not be as effective as they were, when new. Medications do tend to lose efficacy over time, according to NIH reports. However, the caveat I will add here is that the U.S. is one of the only countries that requires expiration dates, most others do not. But, it is always best to check with your doctor or pharmacist. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is there a servere reaction if you take them both at same time i got sucidual ## Hello Christian, Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between Prozac and Seroquel. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate. In conclusion, these two medications are regarded as being safe to take together and shouldn't present any problems outside of the normal side effects associated with each medication. However, both of these drugs individually have side effects that may lead to suicidal thoughts. In this case, you may want to speak with your doctor about switching medications or consider a natural alternative. I hope this helps to answer your question!

im taking sertraline hcl 100 also mylan clonazepam 0.5mg and seroquel xr 300mg ive been gaining alot of weight and i not eating alot grilled fish and meats and veggies i was wondering if any of thes medicines are making me gain weight also if i stop this medicacine will i just get the way i was be for like depresion panic attacks and axaity ## You actually have two possible culprits here that could be contributing to the problem, both the Sertraline and the Seroquel are known to cause weight gain. The Quetiapine in the Seroquel is known to increase appetite and, thus, cause weight gain and the Sertraline is known to cause it, even without appetite changes. However, if you have been taking them for a long period of time, you shouldn't just abruptly stop them, as this can cause withdr...

I am taking Seroquel for a depressive episode that began almost three months ago, gradually increasing the dosage until I have now been at 150 mg. Seroquel xr for the past 24 days. Throughout this time I have suffered severe hangovers from the Seroquel (drowsiness, severe headache, lack of energy). My psychiatrist tells me that these side effects will lessen or disappear as I build up my tolerance to the drug, but now I've gone 24 days without increasing the dosage and the side effects continue. I am taking solely Seroquel xr (not ir) and try to take it as early in the evening as possible, usually anytime from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Do these side effects disappear eventually at the 150 mg. dosage or should I begin tapering off this drug? I also heard that the side effects disappear ...

I was given 50 mg trintellix and seroquel 10 mg to take combined. They don't know if I'm manic depressive or just have major depressive disorder. Wondering what it might be supposed to do for me exactly. I recently lost my insurance and now I just have my prescription. ## These medications can be used to treat depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and some cases of bipolar disorder. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings, and weight changes. How are you doing on them? ## The highest recommended dose for Trintellix by the manufacturer is 20 mgs. daily. Did a doctor actually prescribe you such a high dose of Trintellix? ## Yes my insurance will only pay for 20mgs of trintellix, so far the FDA has only approved...

Five years ago I was put on Seroquel during a very anxious, cyclic, bipolar episode due to tremendous stress in my world. What should have been a short term medication (for me), turned into an endless health nightmare. Weight gain, high blood pressure, trouble with making simple sentences in speech, extensive pain from weight I just could not fight, immune system compromised. After a while my anxiety increased and my Dr. increased the Seroquel and just kept pumping it in without listening to me about how physically miserable I was. I changed Dr.'s in November, and he is a Godsend. He put me on Lamactil and I have no side effects from it. However, even though I tapered off the Seroquel, I still suffered a horrible withdrawal that virtually lasted almost 7 weeks. I had a few good days...
