I have been taking 160 propananol for a long time for anxiety and hogh blood pressure. The Dr has told me to half the dose as she thinks it is making me very tired. I am afraid of doing this although I have to as she has only prescribed the half dose. In hosptial a while back for something else the Specialist said this was an ' old fashioned ' drug. ## Scottish scientist and St. Andrews graduate James W. Black successfully developed propranolol in the late 1950s. Common side effec ts while taking Propranolol are Constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, upset stomach or cramping, difficulty sleeping, vomiting.
