6 Topics FoundI recently lost my doctor of 20 yrs. and am now trying to find a doctor who understands pain and is willing to prescribe pain medication ## I just moved to the columbia missouri area and am in search of a doctor. I have a long history and all the reasons in the world to need the relief from pain so I can enjoy life with my kids. I deeply miss my Washington DC pain clinic. Who in Missouri understands this? definitely not Boon County Hospital pain mgmt doc Patel. He is a judgmental person that treats you like a drug addict. plus while you wait for an hour for the almighty doctor to enter you get watch millipedes cross the floor. ## I am 51, have severe osteoporosis with 4 fractured vertebrae in my back. I originally wrote on 3/16/14 looking for a pain doctor in north central Arkansas or southern Missouri...I live in Mountain Home, AR & am willing to drive to Springfield MO or as far south as Little Rock AR, as far west as Fayetteville or as far east as Jonesboro. I moved from California to Arkansas to be with my sister a year ago & am still unable to find a doctor here who will prescribe the meds I was taking in CA, which were 60 mg MSContin twice daily, 350 mg Soma three times daily, and 1-2 10 mg oxycodone every 4 hrs, plus a 3rd one 45 minutes later if I really needed it. It is like the twilight zone here in AR; every doctor thinks you're a drug addict even though I have all my surgery records, films, discharge instructions (I'd been in a nursing home for 2 yrs befor...
In 2013 i got cancer for second time in life. My doctor put me on oxycodone. Recently he took me off because hes not a pain doctor. I also had 2 tumors in stomach and crones disease no to mention degenerative of spine and neck. I live in missouri and they do notbelieve in pain doctors here. Filed under Oxycodonewhen I went to the doctors on the 1st of last month they took away my oxycontin 60 milligrams and gave me 15 milligrams oxycodone they said it was due to CDC guidelines but I have read through all of that and it's only a recommendation I have never taken anything other than what they have prescribed me nor have I ever taken more than the amount they have prescribed me but now I find myself desperate I can't play with my grandchildren I can't get out of bed there's days I wish I never even would wake up I don't know what to do but I do know I don't want to live life in pain like this especially knowing that there is something they can get me so I'm not in pain I live in Missouri I'm just wondering if anyone else in Missouri has experienced this problem within
