What is the difference in the 2? I have gotten 2 different prescriptions for hydroco/apap 5-500 and one says generic for vicodin and the other says generic for lortab 5. ## PS I got one in August and then one again Yesterday (December). I have been taking pain meds for yrs. and when the lortab 7.5 was changed to norco, I do not get full benefit. My question is where can I get the old lortab 7.5 pill w/the blue specks in it? I don't know what the specks are but they make a difference in my body make-up and I would like to order or fill my scripts wherever I can get them again. Under them, except for a few exceptions, general practitioners and surgeons will not be allowed to prescribe opiate narcotics for long-term pain management anymore. They will have to refer their patients to a pain management specialist. I normally get either blue or pink lortab 10 mg for back pain. Today the pharmacy gave me a white one. It's also a 10 mg, but is not nearly as effective. Because everyone is different, your body may respond favorably with one medication and not the other, due to how you feel or based on whatever side effects present themselves. What would the name be on a bottle of liquid hydrocodone for being 5 mg ## Hi Carol, The only brand names I'm aware of are Lortab Elixir, Liquicet, and Tussigon. However, Lortab Elixir and Liquicet contain a combination of Hydrocodone + Acetaminophen; and not just Hydrocodone by itself. Tussigon also comes with Homatropine methylbromide, which is added to discourage overdosing. One other brand name containing the same ingredients as Tussigon is Hycodan, but this has reportedly been discontinued in the US. What brand name did you receive from your doctor?

I found a small, white (almost a pale yellowish color), oblong pill with 'M375' on one side & on the other side, there is a split that goes across the middle of the pill. Has anyone found out if Lortab or Lorcet is a better hydrocodone option for chronic pain, if you're one of MANY people that have had BAD reactions to many of the defective, generic 10-325 Norco? Serious answers from chronic pain patients, please. ## They all contain Hydrocodone as the active ingredient, with Acetaminophen. Thus, there won't be much of a difference between them, they are all different names for the same opiate. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. What type of bad reactions have you experienced? Can you please post back and clarify?

Hi & THANK you for your time!! Got a ?? of course, lol.. I had upper my teeth removed 2day--Dentist gave me Norco w/acet 5-325. . The bottle says hydroCODON & Acet, same #'s so I assumed it was a mistake When script was filled I po'd--I thought this was Vicodin 5's (lol ergo the 'narco response'.--Dentisit said it was going to be on a stronger med) or several meds, lortab, norco etc named the same but not??then I looked at the pills--lil whitish w/orange specks, the 'v' on 1 side & 3604 & a score line on other. is this indeed the same as hydrocoDONE?
