when i get off my 100mcg patch to early, i get freezing cold ,is this some withdrawls,if so,how long will it last and what can i do to warm myself up? ## Yes, some minor withdrawal symptoms, such as this, can be normal if you are taking it off early. When I stopped pain management medications cold turkey, the best way I found to beat the chills was to soak in a nice, hot tub for awhile. A shower may also work. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on a baby dose - 12.50 mgs. of sertraline for over a year with a low dose of escitalapram and clonazapam. I recently had my sertraline increased to 25 mgs. as a means of helping me to get off of the clonazopram and Escitalapram. That was over two weeks ago; and now for the past week I have had this terrible sore and burning feeling under my skin in the front and back of my ribs. I have been to the doctors two times saying it is an inflammation of a nerve and to take 2 aleve 2 times a day. I don't seem to be improving and am beginning to wonder if it is the sertraline. Any ideas? ## Hello, Hope! How are you? Yes, I've had similar symptoms, when I first started taking Prozac for perimenopause symptoms. However, the good news is that it all cleared up around 4 weeks in,...

How are you? I'ms sorry about the problem that you're having. Yes, you may want to discuss that possibility with your doctor. They may not have you at the right dosage to last you all day, this has actually been happening more frequently recently, there have been quite a few posts similar to yours. The FDA classifies this medication as being an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. You can always lower it ag...

I have been on .5 xanax twice a day for the last 3 or 4 months. I took my last dose 2 days ago and only took .5 for the day. I was afraid of getting addicted after all the horror stories. I don't feel sick but my eyes feel weird and my head feels funny and my lips feel numb. Is it dangerous for me to just quit? Should I go get my refill? I don't wanna be hooked on something. ## Well. you weren't on it for a really long period of time,, however, it is normal to experience some withdrawal symptoms. Have you spoken to your doctor about stopping this medication? You may also experience: chills, nausea and diarrhea. If you do feel that it is getting worse or putting you in danger, you should contact your doctor or go to your nearest ER. ## do you think 2 alprazolam(xanax) tablets...

I have been on norco 10-325 for 5 years and take 2 to 5 per day. What would be a good schedule to us to taper off and quit using it. I have heard that cold turkey may not be the best way to do it. ## Hello, Steve! How are you? Cold turkey could result in your experiencing withdrawal symptoms, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, fever, chills, depression, anxiety and rebound pain, so yes, a slow taper is best. There's no specific taper schedule that always works for everyone, however, in most cases, the preferred method is to have someone starting spacing their doses farther apart, while gradually taking less and less, usually a change is made every week or two. Have you consulted your doctor? They should be able to help you set up an appropriate an...

Aside from the cessation of your periods, the NIH lists other symptoms as possibly including nausea, hot flushes, irritability, headaches, PMS-like symptoms, chills and dizziness. Have your periods been irregular, at all, over the past few years? Have you been more irritable? Crampy? Have you had any spotting, between periods? ## I'm 51 years of age and I'm experiencing premenopausal symptoms. Hot and cold flashes and also mood swings. I've bern on xeljanz for 3 months for RA. It worked great at first but the last month I've had joint pain and the stiffness return along with constant chills and insomnia since commencing this drug. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms? ## Hello Sandra, I did some research and I sourced the list of adverse reactions that the manufacturer claims that are associated with Xeljanz. upper respiratory tract infections, headache, diarrhea, and. cold symptoms such as sore throat, runny or stuffy nose. The chills that you are describing as feeling could be part of the cold symptoms that they claim some of their users are experiencing. As for the joint pain and stiffness there could be a number of reasons that the medicine stop working. One of them is that your body has started to d...

I had my first colonoscopy yesterday. Used Prepopik, got as free sample from GI doc. I was freaking out from all reviews on this product. I took this advice and it seemed to work for me: following a low residue diet 3 days prior to procedure&1 day prior only clear liquids. I started really hydrating with pedialyte, propel,& other clear liquids 3 days prior to test. I got a prescription for Zofran to help with nausea. Took 1 of those about an hour before each dosage of prep was due. Make sure you chill water so you've got really cold water to mix the powder in. Drink the prep through a big straw. The first sip wasn't horrible but then I caught sense of that sour-ish fruit aftertaste,& that almost made me choke. I had results about 30 minutes after starting. I noticed ...

Guys, I've been on about 1-2 mg of Suboxone a day for about 2 years. Since the dosage is so low, is it possible to quit Cold Turkey? As listed by the FDA, withdrawal symptoms may include nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, rebound pain and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can the prescription Nitrofurantoin be taken for the sympthoms of earache, sore throat, headache, and skin sore to the touch? I was also chilling twelve hours ago. ## Nitrofurantoin is used to treat urinary tract infections. Nitrofurantoin is in a class of medications called antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria that cause infection. Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections. That said, I think it would be best to diagnose the underlying causes of your sore skin, headache, sore throat, and ear ache. In my honest opinion, a naturopathic doctor would best suit your needs for all the above symptoms and conditions. Additionally, I do see some antibiotics being prescribed for ear aches; however Nitrofurantoin is primarily used for UTI's, so you may also want...

I've been taking 60 mg temazapam for years for sleep. Ran out 4 days ago and refill in 4 days. Am I in any danger? I know doctor won't go for emergency refill as I had one 2 months ago when I lost bottle (I really did). Will any OTC meds help? Thanks ## Hello, Rolf! How are you doing? Have you experienced any issues? Stopping this medication abruptly can create the risk of seizures, so it you need to be very careful not to run out, as warned by the FDA. Other withdrawal effects may possible include nausea, dizziness, chills, diarrhea, anxiety, and insomnia. ## No real issues other that it took a few more glasses of wine and 100 mg benadryl to get to sleep. Face feels a little flushed and tender, oddly. I didn't think 60 mg/ day was that high of an amount anyway. I've got...

I'm 41, I have suffered in winter for many years from bad circulation, or so I thought! Until I visited the doctor, I regularly suffer from chill blains, my fingers and toes turn white with cold, and then as they warm up, turn Blue The bright red then all pins and needles which is quite painful. I recently visited the doctor for something else and happened to mention about my fingers and toes wheni got cold, that's when she informed that I was suffering from Raynauds Phenomenon, where the blood vessels in my extremities close up blocking blood supply to the the ends of my fingers and toes. She told me about Nifedipine, which opens up the blood vessels allowing free flowing blood, I thought great, I'll give it a go! She did warn me of the side effects, head aches, nausea, diz...

I have been on norco 10 for about 10 months. The first 2 to 3 months I was taking 2 to 4 a day. The last 6 or 7 months I have been taking 1 and on a very rare occasion I have 2. I stopped 2 days ago and the nights are horrible. Can't sleep, have very bad RLS and my stomach hurts! Shoul I start taking again and tapper down? ## Hello, Brent! How are you? According to the FDA, the symptoms you've described are all normal withdrawal effects. However, since you were down to taking so few for the last few months, they likely won't get much worse and shouldn't last more than a week or 2. You may also experience chills, nausea, drowsiness and diarrhea. How are you feeling, now?

I was on Metformin for 25 years. Dr told me to stop using it switch to Gilpizide because I am 80 years old. Apparently it could take you out in that age group. Cold turkey, I had severe chills for a couple of days accompanied by muscle and joint pains and a headache. Day 10 was somewhat improved as far as chills go. I am hanging in there with the glipizide Dose that was doubled. But the glucose level is still high. DDose that was doubled edzide ## Experiencing withdrawal effects is normal when you stop a medication cold turkey, after being on it for so many years, according to the NIH. It is likely also coupled with side effects from starting the new one, so a kind of double whammy. The FDA lists the side effects of Glipizide as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pa...

I have 30 pills left. Will weaning myself off 4 - 200 mgs, Modafinil cause me a lot of problems? I can't go into a rehab for personal reasons. ## Hello, Candy! How are you? A very slow taper would be best, if you've been taking such a high dosage for a long period of time. According to the FDA, abruptly stopping a stimulant, such as this, could result in some withdrawal effects, such as nausea, dizziness, chills, fever, drowsiness and diarrhea. Withdrawals can, sometimes, be dangerous. So it is best to be careful and get professional medical help.
