can seroquil be a cause of mitral valve prolapse ## Hi Monica, While I haven't found any information relating Seroquel (Quetiapine) to Mitral valve prolapse, I did find "fast or irregular heartbeat" to be a severe side effect associated with this medication. I do wonder though if this side effect, in and of itself, can eventually lead to Mitral valve prolapse? If you're experiencing any unusual or disabling side effects by taking Seroquel, then I would recommend asking your doctor about switching medications or opting for a more natural alternative to the drug. I have MVP and take propanolol and was recently prescribed meloxicam for arthritis. Is it okay to take the meloxicam with having mitral valve prolapse? ## Hi debbie, Based on my research, Meloxicam is contraindicated for the treatment of peri-operative pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. I haven't found anything specifically relating to MVP in that regard. I am 64 yrs old and diagnosed for mitral valve prolapse. My cardiologist prescribed to me concor 5mg. I feel pain after taking the concor 5 so i reduced it to 2.5mg yet i still feel a the pain. I have decided to cut in half the 2.5mg but still i feel some pain. Shall i continue taking it. I have a normal blood pressure. ## What type of pain? Generally body aches, or stomach pain? The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. If you really feel that you can't tolerate it, you should see your doctor to find out what you alternative options may be.

I just need to wonder if celebrex is ok to take if I have Mitral Valve Prolapse, heart murmur, allergic to sulfa medications will be ok for me to take without further hurting my existing problems. I also have a Hiatel Hernia and Reflux syndrome. Do you reccomend me to take this? My Dr. says it is up to him and to take it, even if it is not helping my pain. I am on 100mg's a day. I have been taking eliquis for 4 mos, because of a clot in my leg. I have recently been diagnosed as having heterzygous, I went to a hemotologist and he told me to just discontinue the medication, i want to know if this is safe?
