Metoprolol Substitute

Need drug that controls heart paplitations. Presently metoprolol is doing that but it is likely causing erectile dysfunction. ## I am traveling in Costa Rica and they say that they DO NOT have metoprolol. Is there another name for it in Spanish, or a suitable substitute?

I'm taking Metoprolol (50mg) daily. I've experienced a noticeable measure of ED. I wasn't aware of this side effect when I started taking it. Is there another Beta blocker equally effective that does not cause any degree of ED? ## I am afraid that this can be a potential side effect of almost all blood pressure medications, so there is no way to tell you that any one will not cause any degree of ED. I recently had trouble with Metoprolol myself and my doctor recommended I switch to Carvedilol, it seems to cause less side effects and problems for people that have had trouble with Metoprolol. It is also more powerful, so you usually require half the dose of it, that you did of the Metoprolol. More information: Have you tried asking your doctor about alternatives?

I have been taking metoprolol tartrate 50mg for 10 plus years. Recently I have been experiencing cold feet, especially when I lay down. My heart doctor checked my blood flow to my feet and said it was normal. He then suggested the culprit could be the metoprolol tartrate 50 mg that I was taking once daily. Does the drug cause swelling of the ankles? ## Yes, I was substituted this drug after using Toprol XL (50) and my feet started to swell almost immediately. I stopped taking this med and the swelling stopped. My feet are back to normal. I have been taking one Metoprolol XL 50MG (listed as a substitute for Toprol XL 50 MG TAB) tablet once a day. My doctor tells me it is now unavailable and he must prescribe an alternative. So I just received my new prescription that reads Metoprolol 50 MG TAB (substituted for Lopressor 50MG TABLET). My instructions are to take one tablet twice daily. Isn't this twice the dose I was taking? ## What you need to do is cut your 50 mg tabs in half and take 25 mg twice a day, or you will be getting double the dosage which could be very dangerouse. Doctor had prescribed me prolomet xl 25, i was taking the same. But this medicine is not avialable on stores from last 15 days. So, pls sugest me any substitute of this. ## Hello, Mahesh! Just figured out that multac is the drug causing hives and throat tightness. I had a heat stroke with amarideron. Taking for SVT with metropol and losartin. I am a patient suffering from heart disease. My doctor initially gave me Tolol AM 50 in my local hometown. But now I am staying in Delhi and the doctor here has given me Metoprolol Succinate and Amlodipine as a substitute for Tolol. Please suggest whether Amlodipine can be substituted for Telma H or not?

I am currently taking 5mg a day of Bisoprolol. I am running out before I go home. I have some 25mg Metoprolol from previous use. Can I substitute these? It will only be for 4/5 days.
