I live in Metairie, Louisiana and attend a methadone clinic 25 miles away everyday. I have medicaid and would love a doctor close by or a clinic that takes medicaid. I'm a single mom trying to stay clean from drugs and methadone works but $165 every week plus gas to and from clinic everyday is taking every penny to my name! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! ## I live in californa and here it's called medical and it covers the clinic. I have been on the clinic for two now and I have not spent a dime so you should ask the clinic if they accept it or call your worker and find out becuase you might be able to get it for free! ## I live on the westbank... My pain management doctor has gone MIA (Dr. William Knight, Metairie, Louisiana). He has gone- there's no trouble reported to Louisiana Medical Board. Just gone. The 3 months worth of prescriptions he wrote me for Norco & MS Contin are almost gone too. I can't find a new pain dr. here (on the Mississippi Coast or New Orleans) who will take my Obamacare OR even take cash-pay patients. Additionally, I take a (low) dose of Xanax prescribed by the psychiatrist I began seeing with the onset of my chronic pain (bicycle crash). So, benzos, too. :-( Is there a doctor who will treat me in this new culture of pain medicine? I am really afraid. I am in my late fifties. ## Liz, I'm so sorry to hear of your predicament. Sadly,Even under ideal circumstances the concurrent use of benzo...

I'm looking for a compassionate doctor that will prescribe methadone in the New Orleans metro/Metairie area. Currently being treated at the UMC Medical Center in New Orleans for HIV. I'm prescribed Stribild, Adderall & Buprenorphine but I want to switch from Buprenorphine to Methadone. Please help!!! ## Hello, Nolaboy! How are you? Under current law, Methadone can only be prescribed for addiction treatment in a clinical setting by those specially trained in its use for such, thus it would be illegal for a private doctor to prescribe it. Thus, a clinic is your only option. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is ther...

Please I need to find a dr in Louisiana around Leesville/Many area that will write a rx for narcotics. I have had 3 knee surgeries and need a total knee replacement. I am in severe pain every day. I have no menisus left it's bone against bone. ## Have you considered a pain management specialist? There are several in that area, but there's really no way of knowing what they will, or will not prescribe, if anything. Another problem might be due to your specifically asking for narcotics, if that's what you're doing when you see a new doctor. Most doctors will see that as being drug seeking behavior. Does anyone else have any advice to add? ## DR.Troy Beaucoudray 504-885-3737 Metairie, La. He is a Neurologist can write anything so do not be fooled I see him you will get some...
