My wife happened to consume meprate 10 mg tablets (twice a day for 5 day) in the third and fourth week of pregnancy. The doctor prescribed it for getting normal periods. Since the pregnancy test proved negative at that time. But later it was discovered that she was already pregnant. Now the fetus is 7 weeks old. I found that these tablets are not safe during pregnancy and can harm the fetus (abnormality in the genitals). What could be the risks involved and what should be done to minimize risk? The Meprate tablet was prescribed to me for regulating my periods. I was asked to take 10 tablets this cycle and then for the next three cycles (every 15-25th day) but this tablet is giving me lot of acne. I've already suffered from acne for the last 10-15yrs. I have endometriotic cyst for which my doctor gave me meprate tablets, but after taking 2 months of this tablet my period started and is not stopping. I have irregular periods due to pcod. I didn't have periods from April to July. Then my doctor prescribed me Regestrone. Once I took ten tablets, the periods came. Then from the 11th day of my periods the doctor asked me to take Meprate (one tab daily) for 15 days. Periods came correctly. Then from the 11th day my second course of Meprate started. AM 25 YEAES OLD. I got maaried in april 2016 .after marriage only i for irregular periods.I got periods on july 20 still i dont got my periods.my uterus anreverted and mesured 7.1×3.8×4.0 cm. myometrial and cavity echoes are normal.
