Liquid, pink in color. it numbs my throat all the way down. ## While I can't speak as to what's in the specific one you are asking about, most of these contain Lidocaine, which is a topical anesthetic, which can cause such numbness as a side effect, according to FDA reports. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, headache, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was given pink magic cause of heart burn. It has mylanta, lidocaine, & benadryl when I asked the pharmacist. ## This medicine is helping my tongue but not my throat. However, I'm not swallowing the mouthwash, I'm spitting it out. how do i use it?? ## While this is a regional product and the ingredients may vary from area to area, in most cases it is intended to be swished through your mouth/throat, or gargled, then spit out. The FDA does warn that depending on the ingredients, it may cause numbness of the mouth and throat, as well as a funny aftertaste. You should follow the prescribing instructions for how often to use it, when to use it, and how much to use. Is there anything I can help?

Its bulls*** and it doesn't work. I was prescribed this for tonsil pain. And I'm still in excruciating pain. You cannot even see my throat in the back of my mouth. Just huge swollen tonsils. I can barely speak. I'm f***ing pissed. And I had to try to send this message 15 times for arbitrary Bulls***. ## I'm very sorry that you're miserable. I swallowed a little bit of it. I was rinsing when all of a sudden some if it got in my throat, and I spit it out right away. PLEASE HELP :( I'M FREAKING OUT. ## If you are afraid that your life, or the life of a loved one is in danger, you should always contact your nearest emergency services department, or poison control. That said, did you talk to your pharmacy or doctor? These products are regional and do not have the same ingredients everywhere, so I can't even say whether or not swallowing it would be harmful. Need more information ## Hello, I don't think there is very much info on Mary's Magic Mouthwash out there, but this is what I know from my sister's experience: It's mixed by a pharmacist (not necessarily sold as is like other brand name meds) It may contain Benadryl, an antiseptic, an antibiotic, and a pain reliever Once again, this info might not be completely accurate, this is just what I recall hearing about it. I think your doctor or any really qualified pharmacist should know as well.

tonsil swollen,liquid bottle ## perhaps this is a form of magic mouthwash made from maalox, lidocaine and dipenhydramine or benedryl. it is used widely for relief of mouth and throat pain ## I believe Laurie is correct. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, and mouth/throat numbness. And just to note for future viewers, Diphenhydramine is the generic for Benadryl, so they are one and the same. Has anyone else used this product?

MOUTH ULCERS ## Klacks mouthwash, also referred to as Klax or Clacks Solution is reportedly a prescribed mixture that you must obtain from a pharmacy. Interestingly enough, when I search for these names (noted above) I primarily get results for what's called "Magic mouthwash", so I'm under the impression that this is what it's most commonly known as. Magic mouthwash is indicated for use in treating mouth sores. I am taking a combination of lidocaine, diphenhydramine and nystatin for thrush that I get often from chemo, but this one seems different from the medicine I usually take and I am not liking it too much. My husband was prescribed this med after telling his oncologist that he felt like he had something in his throat that was making it hard to swallow. For the last 3 days now he has had constant hiccups. I mean constant(even while sleeping). He's about at the end of his rope. I suggested that he take a dose of the "magic mouthwash". The hiccups stopped for about 15 minutes and then came back. That 15 minutes has been his only relief for 3 days. He had chemo this week as well. I remember a really pleasantly distinctive ointment which my mother used on us. It was called 555 ointment. It was in a small green glass jar.
