I just had my spinal revision surgery on 11/4/2016, and due to the severity of the issues and problems, the surgery took far longer than expected. This surgeon was expecting, and correct, that I would require a stronger pain medication regime following surgery. Through several trial and errors, and the need to be off of IV therapy to be admitted to rehab, we decided that I would be on ms contin 30mg XR and dilaudid 8 mgs x4hrs prn. Pain management working well with only minor breakthrough pain easily handled through controlled breathing. I have found that a dose of ms contin at 8pm followed by a dose of dialaudid at 10pm allows me somewhat decent sleep until 4:30-5:00am! Started cymbalta med in late 2006. Initially, I lost about 8 lb and besides some other "bad" side effects, the results to this day are good and 'steady'. However, in the last four years the weight has started to creep up little by little to where I can not (even with modest excessive) get back down to where it was initially in 2006. Also, as I eat properly and very cautiously, the weight now drastically fluctuates from day to day. I need to get off of cymbalta because I no longer have an ability to feel life. I no longer feel like I have what it takes to grow as a person and continue building myself. I feel stumped and I feel like my body shakes and aches because I am so frail. My life on Cymbalta is pure laziness and sleepiness. The problem is over-sleeping and not feeling active enough or energized enough to get out of bed. The active and energized person who had an ability to feel things and follow his drive has been completely tarnished by an over-use of this horrible daily drug. I'm prescribed 25mg xR Adderall, and have been for about a year, year and a half. I absolutely love the stuff, nothing has ever worked for me the way this med does! I've been on anti-anxiety and anti-depressants, I've tried Wellbutrin and Ritalin. Nothing ever worked.
