Is Mobic a substitute or equivalent drug to Norco? ## Hello, Tracey! How are you? No, it is definitely not. Mobic contains the active ingredient Meloxicam, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. However, Norco is classified as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Doctor going to try this for me.I have diabetic neurophopy. ## Hello, Marie! How are you? Was it possibly Norco that your doctor mentioned? It is a narcotic analgesic that contains a combination of Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, so there is a risk of it being habit forming and it can cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Learn more Norco details here. ## Is it safe to take hydrocodone while also taking Mobic? ## Brenda, There is no listed contraindications between these two substances but as ALWAYS YOU SHOULD CONFIRM THIS WITH YOUR PRESCRIBER since they are best equipped to handle this inquiry. I hope that answers your question adequately .Regards, Kenie.

I was on vioxx and Bextra for years, but no longer. I also take Mobic, 2 Darvocets per day, but the patches cause severe itching, which is why I am asking about the codiene content.
