I Want Off Suboxone

I started taking suboxone almost 11 weeks ago. I was only taking 4mgs and today i went down to 2mgs. How long will it take me to taper to nothing and not have withdrawals? Please help. Regardless of how low you taper, you will likely still experience some minor withdrawal symptoms, once you finally stop altogether. Has your doctor provided any instructions? It does contain a very potent narcotic, to you do need to taper off of it as slowly as possible. I was using pain pills for a few years! I have been on suboxone 4 mg for 2 yrs. I have terrible anxiety & depression & am on Cellexa & klonopin for that. That helps! I tried detoxing myself off the Suboxone 2wks ago & went thru hell, after a wk I was better. But still no sleep, achey, nauseous,headache & overall felt like bad flu. Well I relapsed & now am back on it! I want to wean myself off-But am getting my Dr to get me in an outpatient rehab-I have a 2 & 10 yr old & live with my parents. They know it all & My Mom helped me go thru the withdrawls before & had to hold me from shaking. I want off of it fast!! I broke my neck and my back when I was 29. Never used drugs, I didn't drink or anything, then they sent me to a pain clinic and they never told me it was addictive. I got addicted to it real bad. I have 2 kids. I never neglected them except for showing them my time. I got to the point that I can deal with addiction and more so I wanted a different life. I was on Suboxone for 3 years now and it made my life ten times better. I was able to be the parent that I needed to be. Hi. I have been addicted to H/oxycontin for two years. I got clean for 4 months once and never got back to using everyday. I use at the most 3 days a week but most of the time I use just friday night and saturday. When im off opiates i always take 2mg of suboxone daily. Like i said this has been going on for about two years. I've never taken Suboxone, so I have no experience with coming off of it, but I can tell you that according to the FDA, some of the withdrawal symptoms may include nausea, headache, rebound pain, diarrhea and chills. How are you feeling? Is it going well? Others should be warned that this medication is a narcotic opiate, so it can be habit forming and withdrawing should only be done under the supervision of your doctor.

Hello everyone, I have been on Suboxone 8/2, twice a day for over 5 years. I want to get off it but I have major health compications. I've had major depression my whole life. My last psychiatrist put me on several other drugs for my depression. One of them is an amphetamine called Vyvanse. (70 mg.) I'm also on 4 mg of clonazepam, 200 mg. of pristiq and Dexilant for acid reflux. I have a history of a negative lipid profile. In addition, I have high blood pressure. I'm also 60 years old. Well yesterday was my last day of subs for me. I tapered myself all the way down to .5mg a day. I'm ok today but my back is starting to mess with me, but I'm fine. I was on suboxone 2 mg 2x a day for 4 years. I stopped cold turkey due to a request from and death of my father. 16 days until I could sleep more than 2 hours.. Days 1-5 weren't as bad as 6-14. After that it was restless legs.. Fatigue, depression, anxiety, depression again... Not until I began. Sleeping 6+ hours did most of it go away.. Still have depression and restless legs not almost 2 months later and everyday around my normal second dose time I notice I get very tired. F*** suboxone. Do not use it for more than a detox. A slow taper would be best and safest, your doctor should be able to help you set up a proper tapering schedule that will prevent most of the withdrawal effects. Have you discussed it with them, yet? This is an opiate, so withdrawal effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, fever and chills. I am trying get myself clean off H n just took a 6mg suboxone strip. Will it help if so long till it works? ## Hi Kitty! B 4 the suboxone will work, u MUST b in withdrawals. Otherwise, it won't work and can make u feel worse. As far as time, they usually take about 15 minutes 2 work. If the g don't work, u may need more. It all depends on how much and how long u were using. But, if you want 2 get clean, u r going 2 need more than a day or few 2 do it. U should go 2 a clinic or suboxone dr and do it properly. If u r not already doing that. Remember, the main thing is 2 b withdrawing b 4 u take the suboxone.

If you're trying to wean off I would highly recommend visiting a pain management doctor or specialist as opposed to a regular MD, since they are generally less reluctant to prescribe the types of medications. I'm on day four of no subs after a 24 mg a day treatment for pain and addiction. I wish i never touched the stuff. My pain management doc reccommended them to me after a year long perc and vic habit. I wish i just would of suffered throught the few days of WD from that instead of going on subs. THEY DID GIVE ME MY LIFE BACK. BUT!!!! They are very very very hard to let go of. I have been taking subs for about 5monthes now...had tapered down to 1mg a day and then I messed u and took 2-4 mg a day for about a week. Now I can't get anymore and I only have about 1 and a quarter of a pill left ( About 10 mg) ...am I going to be able to use this small amount to be able to taper enough to have light enough withdrawls symptoms so that I can still go to work...or am I screwed? ## IT is difficult to say, since it does contain the narcotic Buprenorphine, you may experience withdrawals, but the severity can vary from one person to another. I got addicted to Roxy's for 2 1/2 yrs when my dad died and took suboxone to get off them. Then started feeling the urge to take Roxy's again so got back on suboxone for the 2nd time. Have been on it for a few years now because I'm afraid to take a narcotic again. I only take a quarter of a strip a day. So yesterday was day 3 of taking 3 quarters from 8 mg. the doctor is weaning me and my fiancé from 8 mg to 3 quarters. The first couple days I didn't notice much of a difference. Yesterday I woke up after tossing and turning all night, I felt extremely depressed and to top it off I started my menstrual cycle and had very painful cramps. I usually am very busy and on the go.
