I am already taking 10 mg buspirone 2 times per day and my doc has suggested adding 0.25 mg paxil, to further help with anxiety. Is this safe? Was taking buspirone 5mg for anxiety and it helped but once Ihad my prescription refilled to buspirone 15mg (rectangle split in 5s) it has had a bad effect and isnt helping at all but making me worse. I've had a major double depression for four years. I take 400 mg. of wellbutrin. For the first year this medication was augmented with. .25 mg. risperidone. It saved my life. i gradually weaned myself off the risperidone (VERY gradually!) and I did fine then without it. Apparantely, it was only need to kick-start the wellbutrin. Recently I began taking busperone for anxiety (10mg. twice daily.. very small amount). Since I began this new drug I have developed restless leg syndrome. I don't know if there is a connection or just a coincidence. I am reluctant to quit with busperone but if it could put an end to the RLS I would request another drug for anxiety. 3 month old chihuahua licked the outside of pill called busbar 30mg, she is laying with me whimpering, heart rate 120 to 130/minute, lungs are clear, no rales or rohchi. she is drooling a bit, is walking around and wagging tail, but nervous. I have 2 busted ear drums and stints put in because they are so swollen the drops fall out. The doctor has me on 1 oxycodone 5 - 325 every 6 hours but I get no relief. Hi out there! I suffer from a panic disorder and am prescribed Zoloft and Buspar. I recently lost my insurance and have not been able to afford my Zoloft, so needless to say, that I have been going through a type of withdrawal. Which, in turn, brings on wild panic attacks. I've my Buspar becasue it's cheaper. My question is, has anyone ever taken the maximum dosage (60 mg) at once to help with the panic attack. I have to take 20mg three times a day. My prescription of Buspirone HCL 15 mg tablets, says to take 1 tablet 3 times a day. Does that mean take 45 mg (the whole bar) a day or 5 mg (15 mg a day)? ## Hi Chase, From my own interpretation of your prescription, I'm led to assume that it means you would be taking three 15mg tablets a day (totaling 45mg after your last dose). That translates to dosing every 8 hours within a 24hr period. If the instructions still don't make sense, I'd encourage you to contact your prescribing doctor and/or the local pharmacy who dispensed this medication just to be on the safe side. Okay so I really need help! I am on 52mg of methadone daily but going down 2 mg monthly to get off it, also taking 100mg Zoloft and my doctor just precribed 10mg buspar three times a day.
