I am having some serious withdrawals this early morning. I just took an 8 mg of Suboxone at 4 am and I wanna go to the Methadone clinic at 5 am. I usually take methadone and I couldn't find my medicine, I cut a suboxone strip and cut it into 4 pieces and I took a 1/4 of it at like 11 am and I feel horrible my body is aching plus I found my methadone so since I just took a 1/4 of a strip I can take my methadone and it help my boddy , and withdrawals???? ## No, the Naloxone in the Suboxone has likely started some precipitated withdrawals and now will prevent the Methadone from having any effect for about 72 hours. I took 15 milgrams of methadone after not taking any in over 2 years am I ok to take a piece of a suboxson ## The answer to this may be different for each individual (as far as how long to wait), but if it were me I'd probably try to wait 3 days for methadone to be excreted, due to it's long half-life. Other patients on here may feel differently though. Based on your situation I have a feeling you'll be alright to take suboxone sooner than later, but if in doubt I would still encourage you to contact your prescribing doctor first, just to be on the safe side. If you're on Methadone can you still take Suboxone safely? ## NO! They are both very strong narcotics, it is not safe to take both. In addition, Suboxone also contains Naloxone, which neutralizes other opiates. i am starting on suboxone next week...one of these messages says never tell the suboxone doctor you were at one time on methadone..why is that so,if it is ? ## I've never heard anyone say such a thing, nor have I read it anywhere. I am guessing it may have come from someone that was abusing it, rather than using it for treatment. There are many people who have successfully switched from Methadone treatment to Suboxone treatment to finally beat their addiction problems. I have been taking 40mg methadone everyday for almost a year now and I really would like to switch to suboxone. I know you can't take suboxone until you've had atleast 48hrs from your last dose of methadone, so yesterday and today I've taken an op 80 instead. My question is will I be able to take a suboxone tomorrow and not go into immediate w/d since it will be over 48 from last methadone dose? My suggestion is to switch to a short-acting alternative for 2-3 months until the Suboxone is off your receptors, then taper down and be sick for only 5 days. In my experience, the thought of quitting is worse than the reality of quitting it. Just do it!

Okay, so I've gone through a lot on this site and nothing is really helping me with my question. I started taking methadone almost two years ago. I got up to 70mgs and stabilized for awhile then my counselor and I decided with all the positive changes I've made that tapering down would be a good option for me. I have been tapering very slow since last May "2016". By January I got to 30mgs of methadone and once I got to 26mgs I asked to be taken back up to 30mgs. I stayed on 30mgs for another month and then realized I was moving to Florida very soon. Problem is I have the state insurance and Florida programs will not accept the insurance I currently have. If your only dose was 60mgs of done sat morning and you haven't take any done before or after that I say your good. Hi, I started suboxone yesterday after being on methadone for 3 and half years. I went from 85ml to 30ml. I waited 36hrs before taking my first dose of 8mg yesterday, it made me feel ok but not great. I took 16mg this morning @ 8:30.
