I have been on Subutex for a couple years. The doctor I have went nuts and told me he is closing shop and hates all his clients. Anyway he switched me to suboxone film for my last script. I have been on it for 4 days the 1st two days I didn't feel great but it was manageable and now yesterday and today I am so sick. I feel like a I am in full withdraw i tried taking more but it made it worst. I have no opiates in my system I have only taken subtext for years. There is nothing online showing why I would be sick with the switch. I tried calling the doctors office but I think he closed down. I have a thoracic Syrinx's and severely ppinched general nerve that makes my left thigh feel like a second degree burn, as well as various herniation and bulges. Am moving to northern California and want to find a Dr who will prescribe methadone. I have been prescribed it before and had great success. Was on 240mg oxytocin's and still agonized. Last six months i have tried subtext 24 mg per/day and cymbal's. Dr said it would "heal my pain". Well the hopelessness is gone but am in worst pain ever. Can someone please tell me what the difference between suboxone and subutex is? And , why one doctor would prescribe one over the other? ## Hello, Cats68! How are you? Subutex contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, but Suboxone couples it with Naloxone to prevent the abuse of other narcotics, while someone is being treated with it. Thus, that also explains why some doctors prefer one over the other.
