I took one dose of Acticlate as indicated by my dermatologist. I experienced side effects of tummy rumbles, pain from the navel up, sinus headache, & general malaise; shoulders hurt, back hurts. I have not taken any further dose. How long should these side effects last now that I have stopped taking the medication? ## Hello, Dave! How are you? This just contains the active ingredient Doxycycline, which is an antibiotic and its common side effects usually include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. They shouldn't last more than a few days, if you only took one dose, but it would be best to have things checked out by your doctor. Are you on any other medications?

I have been on losartan 25mg for 3 weeks. BP well controlled at 125/70. Getting dizziness and weakness in legs. Are these side effects going to gradually improve and how long will it take? ## Hello, Paul! How are you? Has there been any change? It usually takes about 4 to 5 weeks for such side effects to improve, as reported by the U.S. FDA. You may also experience nausea, headache and increased urination. If they don't improve in that time frame, you should consult your doctor as you may need to try a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi am Hiv positive, my CD4 count is 175, am taking tribuss and purbac started last week and it makes me dizzy, nauseas and caused me diarrhea my concern is I just had a surgeon removing haemorroids so a runny stomach is a hustle for me, how long am I gonna experience this ## Hello, LouLou! How are you? Diarrhea is a very common side effect of the Purbac, but it may continue as long as you are taking it. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and non-allergic skin rash. You may want to speak to your prescriber about ways you can minimize it. There may be a medication you can take, or different foods you can eat to alleviate it. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am having great results. I have been taking it for three weeks and have lost 12 lbs. I am at full dose 4 pills a day. I have this horrible bitter taste in my mouth like crushed asprin and I have this loud ringing in my ears. I can deal with the ringing ear but, the only way to combat the taste is to constantly chew sugarless gum. Do these symptoms subside? ## You didn't specify what medication you're talking about. ## I apologize I am on contrave. And I have this unbearable crushed asprin bitter taste in my mouth all the time. ## A change in taste can be a normal side effect of this medication, according to FDA reports. It can also cause other side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and anorexia. I've had some medications cause stuff to taste very sal...

I've been taking Metanx for 6 days now; the pain in my feet has decreased but now I have tingling in both legs and at night I have some minor tingling in my torso and face. Does anyone know how long this type of side effect lasts? ## Hello, Niecy! How are you? Metanx is just considered a medical food, because it's a supplement that contains nutrients known to support nerve health. Thus, it doesn't actually alleviate pain or cause side effects, so to speak. The tingling may just be due to the nutrients improving the circulation in your body, but you should have it checked out, just in case. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on Lyrica for about 3 weeks now for neuropathic pain. I am an MS patient and the Lyrica is helping. I have had side effects of weight gain and sleepiness. I may have to increase my dosage because I am still having a little pain. Can anyone tell me how long the side effects last and does increased dosages ease your pain more. ## It is hard to say how long the side effects will last, it can vary from person to person, it can also vary according to your dosage and your drug tolerance, for most people it ranges anywhere from 2 weeks to a month. Whether or not a higher dosage will relieve your pain more is another thing that no one can say for sure. Some people get great results from these types of meds and some don't. You will just have to try it and see what happens, and fo...

I began Topamax a week and a half ago as a migraine prevention. I am experiencing random facial, hands, and feet numbness. Mental fogginess, dull headaches, and tiredness. For those of you who have had success with migraine prevention and have taken this medication for a long time: How long did your side effects last? I have heard only a few weeks. I'm not sure If I can deal with this constantly much longer. I am contemplating which is the lesser of the two evils side effects vs. migraines. I have lost 10 lbs. though. Any advice? ## I haven't used this medication, but what you are experiencing are normal side effects of it and I can tell you that in most cases, they start to taper off about 4 weeks, as your body adjusts to the medication. Have you consulted your doctor about the...

How long should a script of 90 loratabs last if taken every 6 hours ## Hello, Missy! How are you? How is has it been prescribed? Do the directions say to take it every 6 hours, or is it written to be taken on an as needed basis? If it's supposed to be taken on a schedule regularly, then 90 tablets would last about 22 and a half days, but if it's to be taken as needed, then this was most likely intended to be a 30 day supply. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, from the very first dose. The U.S. FDA lists the typical ones for this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and weight gain. Are you on any other medications? Hi all, Firstly a disclaimer, if you have just eaten and have a soft stomach, avoid this post. You've been warned. My dentist prescribed a two week regime of Augmentin for minor work that needs to be performed on a tooth. I finished the prescription one week ago. And I still have some odd side effects. Before I started taking this, I had a normal energy level where I could exercise and do my work, etc. Now I have wayyyyyy too much energy and even though I start to feel drowsy at my regular time when I got to bed, I can't fall asleep until 2 -3 hours later. The other effect I've been experiencing are dry lips. This is annoying. There is no change in saliva and my mouth is just as moist as before taking Augmentin. Also during the last three weeks it's been as my appetite h...

Hi! I went on Amox-Clav because of swollen lymph nodes, but no diagnosis as to why they were swollen. I was on a 7 day course. I had nausea, diarrhea, anxiety, palpitations, low back pain and loss of appetite while on the drug. I finished the course and started to feel better. However, its been 10 days since I stopped taking them and I still get chills, nausea and the sweats every few days at night. Is it normal to still have side effects this long after stopping the antibiotic? I have been taking probiotics to help, but its still not gone. ## Yes, those are normal side effects according to the FDA, and they can linger for several weeks, after finishing your course of treatment. You may also experience dizziness, diarrhea, and stomach pain. How are you doing, now? Has there been any cha...

Nausea, vomiting, and headaches in waves throughout the day. Can anyone who's been on this give me an idea how long the hard core side effects will last? hopefully they taper off soon, poor guy :( ## It could take about 4 to 5 weeks for things to improve. I was prescribed percocet 5-325 for a toothache. I haven't taken them in a couple days BT the dizziness hasn't went away and I keep having hot flashes. Is this normal or should I go back to the emergency room?? ## Hello, Heather! How are you feeling? Side effects shouldn't last that long, after stopping them. Have you visited a dentist, about the tooth issue, yet? If you have an infection, it could be what's causing these symptoms. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## ...remains in your bloodstream no longer than 20 hours. I have been taking Chantix for 4 days in a row and I feel horrible!!! how soon will this be out of my system?? ## Hello, Jodi! How are you doing? If you only took it for 4 days, it shouldn't take long for the side effects to wear off, a few days at most. What types of side effects did you experience? The most common ones are nausea, insomnia and abnormal dreams. ## It takes about 2 weeks for your system to acclimate to chantix. If you don't feel your side effects subsiding by then and you want to stop using it. You need to wean yourself off over a 2 weeks period. Or you will experience more side effects. Chantix is Bupropion which is Wellbutrin. Just so you know. Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

I've been taking xarelto 20 mg for the past 10 days, 1 a day, which I take at night and I'm nauseous and just a general feeling of unwell & no appetite. I was just wondering how long do the side effects last? Especially the nausea? Can anyone help? ## It may take about 4 to 5 weeks for them to improve and go away, according to the U.S. FDA. You may also experience headache, increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising. Are you on any other medications? What condition is being treated? ## Xarelto is an evil demonic dangerous drug that should be pulled off the market. How the FDA could allow this drug on the market is beyond me because it has no known antidote to stop bleeding and if you require emergency surgery they cannot do it because you may bleed to death. This is the worst drug ever! I had extreme shortness of breath and reported it to the FDA and my doctor. ## No - it is totally the affect of the medicine . I have hives from taking prednisone. My mouth also feels torn up, and some minor throat irritation. I was on the meds for 6 days. When will the hives dissapear, and other symptoms? Anyone have this experience? ## If you developed hives from taking it, there is a good chance that you had an allergic reaction to this medication, as reported by the FDA, and if that is the case, you will have to avoid taking it in the future, because such allergic reactions tend to get worse, with repeated exposure. Have you had your doctor check it out for you? A couple years ago, I discovered the hard way that I was allergic to the antibiotic Bactrim and it took several weeks for all of the symptoms to finally clear up.

how long do hydrocodone side effects last? I had gotten hurt by my horse and was in really bad pain, I took a hydrocodone I had left over from the year before when I had my wisdom teeth taken out. Shortly after taking the pill I became dizzy and nauseated. When I stood up and attempted to move I would feel the need to vomit. This lasted from 2:30 in the afternoon until noon the following day. Is there any way hydrocodone could have caused all of this continuing to the next day? ## It certainly can, especially if you're sensitive to it and it sounds like that may be the case with you. Hydrocodone is a narcotic analgesic, so it can affect some people that way and likely means you should avoid it in the future, since there are other options you can take that may not affect you so sever...
