Started morphine pills for back pain 30 mg I took it at 9 p.m. It didn't kick in until 12:15...3 hours for reaction? As well, really strong as far as that feeling of "tightness" throughout neck arms etc. Instead of pain relief & anility to sleep, I feel the need to stay awake and monitor breathing. So I've been in the hospital for a while. I've used Dilaudid for roughly about 13 or 14 days through my pic line and IV . So they unsubscribed me to it but they say I can have Morphine. The Morphine isn't helping much and the pain was a 7-10 on a scale of pain and 10 being the worse. How long will it take till I can't take Morphine and it helps cause it really hasn't helped? I don't know what's wrong with me yet, but the pain does come back and fourth to a 5-7. ## What was the dosage of the Dilaudid and what is the dosage of the Morphine? My pain Dr. Writes 5 8mg. Dilaudid plus 1 60mg. Avinza 1every 24 hrs. time released morphine, I have been on the dilaudid 4-5 yes. Seems they don't work as well as they used to. Ive been on suboxin for just over a year. ive never had an acne problem before but in the last 6 months im always breaking out. has anyone else had this problem. ## I've never taken Suboxone, but I have had it happen with both Oxycodone and Morphine. Im want to kick my opiate addiction! I want to know how much suboxone will i need to take a day? Does it really work? How much does it cost?...etc... Ive been taking opiates for 10 years but only everyday for the past 4 years. I take 100mg-150mg of morphine or 20-30mg of methadone a day. I tried to quit cold turkey by slowly weaning myself down for about 2 weeks to nothing. What a mistake that was, even after 7 days of not taking anything i was just as sick as i was on day 1. I thought about getting on the methadone clinic but its too much of a hassle for me. I also dont want anyone to know about my addition, kinda hard to do when you need to go to the clinic everyday. Hello Lyrica has always worked well. at one time in my life @ 3 years ago I was takinf it with no opiates. I was having killer leg pain after 10 days post facet injectins in my lumbar spine. So I went to not being on it for 2 years and now im taking it Long acting morphine. The combination of the lyrica & ms contin (long acting morph.) took my pain away. the lyrica has me somewhat jumpy, like I hafta move it gave me an energy boost and with my conditions, I have chronic fatigue so i'm having great results beside the sulphur burps that smell and taste terrible has anyone experienced this? ive been in pain mgmnt for 15yrs. taken of percs(longterm use causing liver failure) put on roxys. have been on 30's for several yrs now. They work without making me high or woozy. LVPI has stopped prescribing eff jan 1. Are there any dr's not afraid of DEA? You may do better with a pain pump or spinal stimulator that are constantly working.

I was given a dose of taradol, 2mg morphine and dexamethasone through IV to help with pain due to a flare up from my ulcerative colitis. It's helped a lot but not completely. Now I'm wondering how long will this last? I have a long drive and work before my GI appt. f.u. I'm hoping to remain comfortable for at least the next day and a half. Pls help?

Fetanyl is a great pain medication but it is used primarily for major pain: i.e. IV's or post op surgical pain pump med (if morphine or dilaudid does not work) and/ or to get extremely acute pain under control. Cancer patients use the Fetanyl lollipops for break thru pain and it is one of those medications that I am glad to know is out there but I would avoid using it because for those of us with chronic pain that take meds daily for years and have built up a tolerance to pain meds. We need to have something that offers relief if pain escalates or if major surgery is needed. It can be difficult to get pain relief if you find should develop pain that is a level 7 or higher that is unrelenting.
