How I Got Off Suboxone
100+ Topics FoundI broke my neck and my back when I was 29. Never used drugs, I didn't drink or anything, then they sent me to a pain clinic and they never told me it was addictive. I got addicted to it real bad. I have 2 kids. I never neglected them except for showing them my time. I got to the point that I can deal with addiction and more so I wanted a different life. I was on Suboxone for 3 years now and it made my life ten times better. I was able to be the parent that I needed to be. Now I'm just scared that I'm not going to be able to bring myself off of these. ## Hello, Samantha! How are you? Actually, the great thing about Suboxone is that most people are able to successfully come off it and be completely drug free. It does require a slow taper, but that's why it is preferred ove...
Hi. I have been addicted to H/oxycontin for two years. I got clean for 4 months once and never got back to using everyday. I use at the most 3 days a week but most of the time I use just friday night and saturday. When im off opiates i always take 2mg of suboxone daily. Like i said this has been going on for about two years. This is the biggest problem i have when trying to get clean, I know its going to be a struggle but i preparing myself mentally to just grin and bare it but i end up going through this cycle everytime i try to go cold turkey off subs or opiates. The first day i wake up feeling s***ty but go about my day. I go to work and feel super weak and out of it, my nose usually starts running like crazy and its hard to move and I have zero motivation. As the day progresses my n...
Well yesterday was my last day of subs for me. I tapered myself all the way down to .5mg a day. I'm ok today but my back is starting to mess with me, but I'm fine. The highest dose I've ever taken was 8mg but didn't like the way it made me feel. I've been on subs for almost 5yrs now and it's just time to stop. I'M SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED!! It all started with a real bad car accident in which I rolled my car 4 times on I95 in Virginia almost 11yrs ago. Was put on pain pills and the next thing you know I was using oxy's and H main streaming it. Got clean then went right back to it. Went to methadone clinic, and then switch to subs and here I am almost 5yrs later. The hardest part for me right now is that I have a full time job that I like, an...

Suboxone contains Buprenorphine ...
I'm on day four of no subs after a 24 mg a day treatment for pain and addiction. I wish i never touched the stuff. My pain management doc reccommended them to me after a year long perc and vic habit. I wish i just would of suffered throught the few days of WD from that instead of going on subs. THEY DID GIVE ME MY LIFE BACK. BUT!!!! They are very very very hard to let go of. The WD is not as intense as dope sick but it is drawn out and mostly mental. The first week is achey and pissed off. I know that because thats how far i got before then started subs again. I'm on day four trying again. I got some valium this time to help me throught the worst of it so I'm hoping I will win the battle this time. I'm at work today and i'm an emt and i'm getting through on energ...
I read almost all your posts. I think I'm way off here probably just a little off in the head. I've been on vicoden and oxy's since 2003. 98% of the time I was buying the crap off the street. The other 2% I would intentionally hurt myself to get a script, pathetic I know. I took a leap of faith and stopped. Went to a Methadone clinic and regretted it ever since. Missed important life moments and lost all my friends. I was on that crap for 4 years and stopped after weening down to nothing. I was clean for over 6 months before cravings got the better of me and I started stealing family members suboxones strips. Now that member is stopping, I'm going nuts. Depressed and constantly thinking suicidal thoughts. I'm 26years old and I'm getting to thinking I need suboxon...
I have been off suboxone for 2 months. When I go see a pain doctor and they check and find out I use to be on the suboxone, they wont give me anything for the pain. I lost both my leg's 4 years ago but I'm walking now, it hurts like hell. I live in DENTON texas. If any one knows of a pain management doctor that is understanding please let me know. I do not care if he does not take insurance. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. DALLAS is fine too.
I have been on suboxone for about a year now and I'm wondering if I or my Dr is doing something wrong? I feel normal all day, but when I wake up in the morning, I feel like I got hit by a bus. I wake up and take my sub immidatly trying to advoid the pain but it normally takes me a hour-hour & a half to feel good enought to get dressed for work..etc. I don't know how to describe it other then it feels like my stomach is being twisted up. Any help or suggestions would be helpful. I only ask cause my Dr seems to blow it off and send me on my way. ## All medications only last a certain period of time, so it is normal for there to be a time period where it will wear off and you may have to wait for your next dose to kick in. So yesterday was day 3 of taking 3 quarters from 8 mg. the doctor is weaning me and my fiancé from 8 mg to 3 quarters. The first couple days I didn't notice much of a difference. Yesterday I woke up after tossing and turning all night, I felt extremely depressed and to top it off I started my menstrual cycle and had very painful cramps. I usually am very busy and on the go. I cried I didn't feel like doing much and I wasn't hungry all day. I have some female problems plus bi polar ptsd and high anxiety disorder. I ended up taking the full 8 mg and my xanax and i slept finally a full nights sleep. I woke up today not depressed in fact I have alot to do and I took my 4 MG when I got up because of the severe cramps. My fiancé told me to take the full 8 mg for 2 days t...
I got a white pill it's suppose to b a suboxen 10mg it has on one side 155 and the other side it has a D is it a suboxen my brothers comming off methadone he hasn't had ne methadone in 2wks want to b sure this is a sub so he can feel better ## Yeah that's a generic brand suboxone. There is no 10mg suboxone though. It is 8mg suboxone and 2mg naloxone. The imprint on the front side isn't a D, it's a crescent moon, the logo of the manufacturer. I hope this helps!
Went to my sub. dr. yesterday and he lowered my dose of 12mg per day to 8mg. or one film strip. I told him I want to get off sub. completely so he,s gonna taper me down to very low dose. I asked him about WDS. and he assured me that there would be next to none. I doubt this. He told me he would prescribe Tramadol when I got off the Suboxone and then wean me off it. Has any one tried or heard of this method? ## I've not heard of tramadol being used for WDS, but I tried it for pain once. It made me feel creepy, gabe me wierd dreams, and didn't help with my pain ( kind of like me subox expierence). Everyone is different though, and it migh work for you. We are all different. ## I also tried it for pain a long time ago and it did not work. Are you off suboxone, were the wds bad as t...
Can I take suboxone I waited 15 hrs and I feel like crap ive been on H about a half g to a g a day ## Hello, James! How are you? You need to follow your doctor's instructions and only take it, when you are in full withdrawal. Taking it too soon could cause you to go into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. The FDA classifies Suboxone as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have been on h for years well now I'm addicted to the h that has fentynl in it an I just got suboxane prescribed to me I'm trying to get off this crap but I have actually been thrown into really horri...
How do I best stop using this crap. Been trying to do less and less. I had shoulder surgery got onto perks and vikes. Long term stuff but weened myself off. This one isnt so easy. Thinking I should have done this tge hard way rather than try other folks advice. Any suggestions? ## Hi Mark, It really depends on how much your taking per day. Subs have the long half life so that makes things so much different then the usual pain pill wd. I can tell you this, when you get down to 3 or 4mgs you should not drop more than a half mg at a time. You need to wait until your body feels comfortable on that dose. I,m talking a week at the least. It,s because of the half life. It takes a long time but well worth it. If you do this the jump will be fairly easy.
day one quit suboxone any idea on anything other then vitamins or specific type of vitamins to help with aches and pains ??? ## Dear Patrick, I heard that clonodine and Tramadol help with the withdrawals. But, u have 2 get them from a doctor. ## ok thank u but thats not happin no doctor i have Quetiapine (Ceriqual) not sure if thats correct spelling but its for sleep. No Natural stuff ?? ## Check out addiction survivors.com and their tapering off and post taper section for ideas. ## Hi Jolter, how r u doing? I finally got my kitten. It has helped me so much with the loss of my Hannah. No more cravings and feeling down and out. I took your advise on spreading out the times I take my suboxone. It's working out pretty good. Catch ya later .
trying to detox from subone have been on 8mgs a day for 15 months need help please thank you. ## Hi confused, I hope I don,t confuse you more but heres what I did when I got down to 8mgs. By the way, it was my sub. drs. taper plan. For 2 weeks I alternated, day 1 8mgs. day2, 4mgs. day3, 8mgs.day4, back to 4mgs. This averages out to 6mgs. I kept this routine up for 2weeks then tapered to 4mgs. From the 4mgs I tapered 1mg. per week. After the last week on 1mg. I stopped completely. I was taking the strips and when I got down to 4mgs. sub dr. prescribed the 2mg strips just because it was easier to cut. Tapering this way was a walk in the park. No wds. bettween tapers. Last week on 1mg I woke up couple times thruout night but went right back to sleep. No problems after that. Been off subs s...
I was an opiate addict for numerous different years and I went to inpatient and outpatient rehab but they never gave me suboxone. The second I got out of rehab I did more opiates, and I did them for another year or so and I tried suboxone and that is what I stuck with. Well it is getting very expensive and I was not getting myself off it very good and now I am pretty much addicted to that. If I can't find suboxone I usually find another opiate to take. My main question is, if I go to an outpatient rehab, is there anyway I could still get suboxone? I want to get off suboxone and other opiates and I do believe this would be the way to do it. Suboxone withdrawl is rough so any thoughts or anything would be appreciated! ## Hi Andy, I don't know how the outpatient clinic type places ...
I take 2 subs a day. I just left the pharmacy and the total price for 60 at walgreens is $613.99. I have a suboxone coupon you can get off the suboxone website. It brought it down to $396.00. I do not have insurance either. What worries me about getting generic is will it cost more since there is no coupon for it as far as I know???... ## Prices for many medications have gotten totally outrageous. You could just ask the pharmacy to compare the prices for you, they shouldn't have a problem doing so. Prices can also vary widely from one pharmacy to the other, so you should check different pharmacies in your area. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Have ...

I had as bad a opiate habit as I have ever heard of from anyone until six years ago. During my final days, I was taking 12+ 80 mg Oxycontin a day. That's right, a day. that's the equivalent of 180 regular 5 mg Percocets a day when I finally OD'd on Christmas day. I was a 55+ yr old professional, married for 32 yrs, with 3 adult children. Sadly, they were prescribed by my Doctor. It's unbelievable now that I think back on it. Started out 1 perc 5 mg at a time 30 yrs earlier for my back. Loved them and kept it up until BOOM. Anyway, I tried many times to get off, but when I OD'd it was definitely time to succeed and I started on Suboxone 8/2mgs 3 times a day and have been on them for 6 years. I got my life back and it has been pretty normal since(if any life is normal)...
