About a year ago my dr prescribed flecainide 100mg twice daily started taking it at home no warnings of problems I was diagnosed with palpitations. It was working nearly perfect. Now a year later and fifty pounds lighter (done on purpose)I'm struggling with near constant fluttering ,skips, occasional pain and numbness. Everything I read says this drug is for serious problems. Went to the ER recently was asked why I was on it. I'm now really worried. I feel awful half the time. Should I worry? ## Hello, Sus! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. Have you stopped taking it? Have you consulted your cardiologist? Unless your cardio feels there is something to be concerned about, you're probably worrying needlessly. Many people take this medic...

I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis nine years ago. I've had a lamectomy, a spinal fusion, and numerous outpatient surgeries since then without success. I've been prescribed methadone HCL (30 mg every 12 hours); Valium (5 mg every 8 hours); Butalbital ((APAP-CAFF 50-300-40 every 8 hours for headaches complicated by these opiate combinations); and dilaudid (16 mg every 8 hours) since then. It is important to know that I have a high level of tolerance to these opiates. In fact, even with these prescriptions my pain score is consistently 7-8/10. As of late, surprisingly, within 15-20 minutes of taking dilaudid I experience strong heart palpitations, which go away within 20-30 minutes of deep breathing and lying down with my legs elevated. However, I'm now really worried and af...

I took my first day of a medrol pack and after my last 2, before bed heart racing/pounding started. Approx 100 bpm. For about an hour now. ## Hello, Dee! How are you? That can be a normal side effect of corticosteroids, such as this one. As reported by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, acne and insomnia. It's generally nothing to worry about, unless it starts going even higher, but you should always consult your doctor to be sure. Is there anything else I can help with?

If you have heart palpitations and your doctor give you Buspirone to help with your panic attacks, will it help with your heart palpitations? Or will it cause more heart palpitations? ## According to FDA reports, it has actually been known to cause palpitations as a side effect. Thus, in your case, I think it really depends on what's causing your palpitations, if you experience them due to panic attacks, the medication might help, if it works for you to get them under control. But there is also a chance that it may not stop them from occurring. However, most side effects are transient and tend to go away, once your body gets used to a medication, which could take 4 to 6 weeks. Are you on any other medications? Is there some other reason for your palpitations, or just the panic attac...

I have been having heart palpitations on an off since I started cloindine 1 mg. Should I quit? ## How long have you been taking it and how long do the palpitations last? The FDA does list palpitations as being a possible side effect of this medication and they may continue for 4 to 6 weeks, while your body is adjusting to the medication. In most case, palpitations are harmless, unless they are accompanied by other symptoms, such as dizziness and chest pain, according to the NIH, or if they last for very long periods of time.... but, it never hurts to have your doctor check things out to be sure.

I was having heart palpitations and the dr suggested I see a cardiologist for them. 4 days before I saw her I was having episodes of them along with some chest pain and at one time blue nails. It all subsided now. My pulse rate and BP were good but because heart disease runs in the family she put me on metoprolol 25 mg split in 2 doses and told me to go to the hospital if my pulse went down to 60. It did, so I went to the hospital, had all tests done and everything was normal. They even gave me an angiogram with no problem there, but my pulse continued to fluctuate between the low 40s to 50s. My primary stated she gave you this for heart palpitations and to get off of it now. She did something wrong and she never told me why I needed to go to the hospital if my pulse went down to 60. I was prescribed Macrobid 4 times a day for 14 days back in June 2015. After 10 days my heart was racing , I had a headache so bad it felt like my brain was swelling. After reading some blogs and seeing what other folks were experiencing I quit taking them on day 10. I am still having severe palpitations 3 months later and feeling my heart skipping beats. Until the Macrobid I have never had this happen. I recently was put on a 24 hour heart monitor and it only worked for 14 hours before it errored. When they downloaded the recording it showed I had over 5000 incidents in the 14 hours. I'm scheduled now for an echo cardiac ultrasound in 3 days and my physician wants to put me on a low dose beta blocker. I feel nervous about the beta-blocker so am waiting til the ultrasound. My questi...

Had a Prolia injection last week (thought it was a calcium supplement) Two days later woke 4am with heart palpitations and feeling light-headed. Went to Dr and my blood pressure was 139/85-normally it is 90/60. Still over a week later have to lie down mostly to keep my heart from racing. Never again! I was not told of any side effects or I would not have had it. ## I am very sorry about what you've had to deal with, after being given Prolia. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including eczema, nausea, diarrhea, and afib. But, it is also well known to cause odd side effects in many people that try it, just like other medications used to treat osteoporosis. My mother-in-law's doctor talked her into trying one, and within half an hour, she couldn't control her bowe...

Was taking the eltroxin , and because of palpitations ,the doctor change me to euthyrox I have 12 days taking them but still have palpitations every night and sometimes through the day , I need help please ## Hello, Bale! How are you? If you experienced such a side effect with one, it makes sense that you'd also experience it with the new one, since they both contain the same active ingredient, which is Levothyroxine. Other typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly including headache, hair loss and weight changes. However, unless there is some other problem going on, such as a heart issue, palpitations aren't usually anything to worry about. It is actually you just becoming aware of your heartbeat, when you usually aren't. In most cases, they are benign and th...

I have come to think the extreme anxiety depression heart palpitations and tingling in my left fingers are related to the 20 mg lisinopril I started just over a year ago. I also take amlodpine and warfarin ...I cant believe it took me so long to suspect this. I will speak to my doctor but also want to see what those who quit lisinopril have to say about the weaning period and side affects while cutting down and quitting . Please advise. This is horrible beyond anything I have ever experienced. Please help if you can ! ## Sorry, I just saw this post with more details. In this case, since you are on several medications, it is hard to say which one might be causing your symptoms, if they are due to a combination of them, or if they may be unrelated. I had radio frequency ablation twice due to having A fib. The first one was performed Dec. 2015. It made my palpitations less frequent and lighter. The only sign of A fib after the first procedure was I could just be sitting in a chair and I would get short of breath as if I could not get enough air. Sometimes no palpitations at all. I had second procedure Feb. 2016. I went off the Multaq April 15th. Wore a heart monitor from June 13 to July 13, 2016. Just got the results July 26th. I am A-fib free. I am overjoyed with the news. I have had Paroxymal A fib for six years. I planned all vacations by searching for hospitals in case I had to go to ER for conversion. It has been a journey. So if you have A Fib you might consider having an ablation. I stayed overnight in hospital rested at hom...

I have been on 100mg/day of losartan that I take 1/2 a pill twice a day for 6 months or so. Kathy, have you informed your doctor of what you're experiencing? Ref: Geodon Information Hector, taking it along with Xanax may increase the risk of experiencing some side effects. I have been taking xarelto 20mg now for 2 weeks after being on 15mg twice a day for 30 days. I had a dvt blood clot that ended up with two pulmonary embolisms. Just in the past three days I have developed heart palpitations which I have never had. My heart skips a beat about every 3 beats. Not so much in the morning as in the evening. Does this have anything to due with the meds ## It is possible, according to NIH reports. Are you on any other medications, or just this one? Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising.
