My mom is suffering with blood sugar since 2 year she is taking aurvedic medicine but nothing happen. Today I checked the result FBS=153 and pp=293. One my friend suggested me to take Galvusment 50/850mg & Reclide 80 mg. Without any consultant of doctors may i use this medicine for my mom. Please reply ## Hi guys. I been using Galvus 50mg + Glucophage 500mg since 6 months I have my blood sugar level only 150 maximum. Is that ok to use both tablets? I use Galvus only at night. ## Hi, Suraj! sir my mother has a diabities for last 5 years she is talking a medicine (dianorn m) for for few days her sugar will not in control i'll consult to the doctor they will give a medicine galvas met 50mg/500mg ....but this tablet will be very costally what will i do... ## Ask the doctor for a similar tablet that would cost less. Some NGOs also have diabetics care program's where they distribute medicines free of cost or at a subsidy. Most state governments have a senior citizen program and some pharmacies also give 10 % discount to senior citizens.

I have Diabetes 2. I am also an epileptic and take Tegrotol CR 400 mg three times a day as well as Sedabarb 30 mg three times a day. I have been on Tegrotol and the equavalent of sedabarb since 1969. Dosages have just changed as needed. I am now also on Galvus Met 50/1000 for plus minus 3 years. The side effects I am now showing is: The shin, in the fold of my leg, my whole back and arms are itchy. On my back I have small sores as I am scratching. The itching is rediculous. My ankles and feet are puffy and uncomfortable. Sir I am diabetic patient level II and the decease was discovered in my body in 1991. Lately I was advised by my Doctor Galvus Met 50/1000 1 + 1, with diamicron MR 60 one and half tablet before breakfast as well as one 10point insuline dose at 10 am daily. With above medication although i had good control and my hbA1c checked last week was 7.1, but I was experiencing low sugar level often in late afternoon ( twice or thrice weakly) whenever I had much fatique of running arround. Now I have replaced my morning dose with Metformin 850 instead of Galvus met 50/1000. since then I not have low sugar problem any more, but my randum sugar comes 200 plus some times. Pl advise if this combination of medication is ok or shuld i go back to Galvusmet 50/1000 1 +1. Thanks a lot for your consideration.

I am suffering from Type-II diabetes. My doctor prescribed me Galvas Met 50 500mg, one tablet in the morning only, along with Glycomet 500mg in the morning & evening. Apart from these medications my doctor prescribed me Clopitab 75 mg & Aztor 10. I wanted to know if the combination of these medications are good for Type-II diabetes. What is the purpose of this medicine prescribed by my doctor? ## I have been taking Gluconorm SR 1g in the morning and 500 mg at night + Vobit 0.2mg in the morning and in the afternoon. Now my PBS goes up to 250 and my doctor recommended Glynase Mf (1 in the morning) + Galvusmet 50/500mg at night. Where do I stand with everything? Is this combination of meds safe? My wife, age 60, has had diabetes for the last 6 years. She is taking the following medications after her angiography in 2008 along with diabetes medicine for the last 3 months: Deplatt 75, Eritel ch-40, Metorol xr 50, Rozavel 10, Razo-d-20, Thyronorm 50+12.5, Gluformin g-1 forte -or Glycomet gp1 forte, Galvus 50, Voglistar 0.2 mg, Lintus 42. She is complaining of swelling in her leg and ankle, as well as joint pain. Her weight is also increasing. Are there any side effects of any of the above medications? She is also suffering from arthritis.

CAN GALVAS 50MG BE PRESCRIBED IN CONJUNCTION WITH NOVOMIX 24 UNITS BD AND AT WHAT DOSAGE ## Hi Ian, Information I've gathered states that Galvus (vildagliptin) can be combined with other anti-diabetic drugs. It mentioned Metformin being one of those drugs, but does not go into great detail about which other ones are fine to take as well. Because NovoMix contains Insulin and I've read details stating how taking "Vildagliptin 50 mg twice daily exhibited efficacy when added to insulin in a 24 week study", I can only assume that they may be alright to take together; but you would have to discuss proper dosing with your doctor. I am diabetic type 2 for the past 16 years & also hypertension medication I am taking Glycomet Trio 2 before breakfast & Galvus Met 50/ 1000 mg before dinner . While my Post lunch sugar levels are by & large within normal range for my age ( 84 years) my fasting sugar levels are always beyond normal range ( 130/137) Do I need to change the before dinner medication ( Galvus Met 1000/50)
