Hi, I started taking Exforge Tab 5/80 mg for three days and I feel like I have the flu! This is my first time ever taking a high blood pressure medicine, and I am a foreigner living in Taiwan. Not sure if I have confidence they gave me the right med, as I saw online that Exforge is usually given when other high blood pressure meds have not worked. I have slight fever, chills, aches, sore throat, headache. I need to travel to Nepal in a week, and don't want to feel like this. Wondering if I should hold off until I get back. Wondering if these symptoms are normal.

my name is Barbra and I have flu symptoms my grandson has the flu now I'm sick my body aches all I want to do is lay around to somebody tell me please do I have the flu flu ## Hello, Barbra! How are you feeling? Those can be symptoms of flu, but they can also be symptoms of other health conditions, such as Mononucleosis, as listed by the NIH. The only way to discover which it is would be to consult your doctor and be checked for it. Do you have any other symptoms? Do you get a flu shot each year? ## thanks for asking how I'm feeling I'm feeling a little better but put that second one you pronounce I don't know how to pronounce is mono on could you tell me what that is thanks

I'm just not sure what is going on...I've been on Aggrenox for several weeks, at first I just had a mild headache for a few days and that's about it...and then I came down with a cold & running nose with body aches....it's about 5 days later and I'm still having a sick-like flu feeling...I'm trying to figure out whether it's the Aggrenox or if I'm still infected with the flu virus...all my family at present has the flu... ## It is hard to say, because Aggrenox has been known to cause upper respiratory tract infections, as a side effect in some people that take it, along with coughing, nausea, headache, and dizziness. So, it could be the medication, illness, or even a combination of both. How are you feeling, now? Has there been any change? Have you co...

Was given a steroid injection for right knee pain & was given lodine 2x daily & took glucosamine chondroitin with msm. Felt better in 2 weeks. Stopped taking med & suppliment but suddenly developed stiff achy muscles & joints, specifically backs of knees & neck. Have headache, fever, chills, shakishaking ness of breath (feels like I took in too much chlorine water @ pool-w/out swimming). Am normally healthy 59 yr old female, active swimmer, jogger & golfer. ## Hello, Menaches! How are you? Have you had this checked out by your doctor? It could be due to the steroid, but it's hard to say for sure. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness, weight gain and acne. However, there is also a chance that it was due to the...

Has anyone experienced a sick flu-like feeling, blurry vision, dizziness, headache and general malaise from taking metoprolol succ ER? ## Hello, Lily! How are you? Yes, those can be side effects of this medication, along with nausea, increased urination and hypotension. They should go away, once your body gets used to this medication, but that may take 4 to 5 weeks. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking fluoxetine for approximately 4 & ½ yrs now. If I stop taking them will I have any side effects / withdrawal symptoms? ## You might, the NIH lists the withdrawal effects as possible including nausea, dizziness, headache, rebound depression, and anxiety. Why are you stopping it? ## I don't feel like im benefiting from my medication, I seem to be stressing out over nothing, my doctor has also prescribed mirtazapine to take of a night as I have terrible sleeping patterns, (I suppose I need to speak with my doctor) but all she seems to say is we'll increase your dosage) thankyou for your reply

Started using symicort about 3 weeks ago for possibly asthma or bronchitis...havent really gotten a definite diagnosis yet...but my question is I all of a sudden feel very lethargic and weak...kinda like the feeling when I'm getting sick with fever but do not have fever...is this a side effect of symicort and should I be concerned...i go to my pulmonologist in 3 days but I just feel like complete mush...also have a headache. ## How are you doing, now, Deborah? Has there been any change? The FDA does list these symptoms as being possible side effects of this medication, but they do advise you consult your doctor to be safe. Other side effects may include dry mouth, odd taste in mouth, nervousness, and insomnia. What did your pulmonologist say? Are you on any other medications?

I've been taking Prodep 10 mg for the last 6 years. Now I want to stop taking those tablets and would like to know if there's any side effects (withdrawal symptoms) if I discontinue treatment? ## Prodep contains the active ingredient Fluoxetine, which is an SSRI class antidepressant, so yes, there can be some problems and withdrawal effects if you stop taking it abruptly, especially after being on it for so many years. Stopping these medications suddenly often results in rebound effects of depression and anxiety, which can be worse than they were when you started taking it. You may also experience withdrawal effects, like drowsiness, dizziness, diarrhea and chills. It is best to taper off of these medications slowly, with the assistance of your doctor.

In 2003, I was given Neurotin to use for a period of six months. Shortly after starting taking the drug, I developed a cold/flu symptom. I had a terrible running nose and the nose was always blocked. I was breathing through the mouth. Now, even after completing the dose over the six months period, the cold/flu is still persisting. It is almost four years now. My nose is always running, sometimes I finished a roll of tissue paper in a day. The nose is always stuffy and blocked, forcing to breath through the mouth. I also devloped constipation symptom. I persistently pass gas through the mouth, an average of once every one and half minutes. Please if there is anybody who had similar exerience with me should kindly let me know how he/she resolved these conditions. My e-mail address is {edi...

Hello, I've been taking cephalexin to treat an arm infection and I've had an itchy/runny nose, sneezing, and mild headaches since I started taking it. I don't see this as a side effect. Has anyone else had this response? It seems like a mild allergic reaction. ## Hello, Raquel! How are you? It's possible that you have just caught a cold or are having an allergy attack to something environmental. It would be very unusual for an oral antibiotic to manifest an allergy with those symptoms. Have you consulted your doctor?

The doctor took me off Losartan and now my ankles keep swelling. Could this be the cause? ## It is possible. If it was stopped abruptly, the FDA does warn that it may cause some rebound effects, such as elevated heart rate, blood pressure, and fluid retention. Are you on any other medications? Have you informed your doctor of the problem? Uncontrolled edema could cause congestive heart failure, which has the potential to be fatal. ## I have been on Losartan 25 mg for a month and have side effects from it. I tried to stop it and my B/P went up higher than before I started it. It went from 140/90 to 170/104. Please advise how to stop this drug without causing this side effect.

I am a soon to be 71 year-old female with paroxysmal A-Fib--started 5 years ago. I take Eliquis 5 mg/twice daily. I generally am not in A-Fib, but for some dental and surgeries have needed to discontinue Eliquis 2 to 3 days prior. I have researched everywhere and spoke to my cardiologist and PCP as well asking about withdrawal symptoms. As even missing one dose, I get flushed, shaky, and increased heart rate until I go back on the drug. Even asked pharmacist but they look at all the info on the warnings label. I also take 240MG Cartia XL and 7.5 MG Norvasc and OTC omeprazole and Vitamin D and that's all. Anyone experience this? ## Hello, Mary! How are you doing? Hello, thanks for having this site. So, I have a couple things going on which I am trying to get handled with my Doc. Along with the fact that I have not being taking my generic brand of Lexapro consistently. Really Dumb. I know. I was taking it, then forgetting. Now, I am getting a pins and needles feeling in my face and really in other areas too, achy flu like symptoms and being emotional and very anxious. Any of these symptoms sound familiar with withdrawal? My anxiety is so high that I am very paranoid it's M.S. or something. Sorry for sounding nuts. Thank you again for your input. ## Hello, Amy! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you've been having. In order to be having withdrawal symptoms, you'd need to have been taking it consistently for a long period of ...

I have been taking generic loratabs for RA for a long time. I'm worried about symptoms I'm having, like not sleeping good, etc. ## Is this medicine better for sleep or as an atidispresent? ## Neither! Lortab is a narcotic pain reliever. And yes to the first poster, if you have been taking them for a long time and stop suddenly you will suffer some withdrawal symptoms. You should never stop these narcotic medications abruptly and you should be under medical supervision while doing so. ## Yes he's excactly right lortab is a narcotic pain reliever uses for moderate to severe pain!! I have just come from the doctor now and she prescribed Alzam 0.25 mg and says I must take half a tablet when needed. I went to her to discuss full blown menopause which is what I have. The symptoms are very extreme with me having severe headaches and feeling very emotional at times. Some times I feel a little down in the dumps and I would cry. These are all symptoms of menopause including insomnia, irritability, mood swings, hot flushes and night sweats amongst other things. I am so skeptical about filling out this script, especially after reading how habit forming the drug is. Also the withdrawal symptoms when you stop taking it. I don't like the side effects of the drug as it will make me feel exactly the same as I'm feeling now. Maybe even worse! Any advice out there for men...

Am 52 and have not been having my periods for two months. Have l started my menopause? ## Hello, Josami! How are you? It is possible. Aside from the cessation of your periods, the NIH lists other symptoms as possibly including nausea, hot flushes, irritability, headaches, PMS-like symptoms, chills and dizziness. Have your periods been irregular, at all, over the past few years? Have you been more irritable? Crampy? Have you had any spotting, between periods? ## I'm 51 years of age and I'm experiencing premenopausal symptoms. Hot and cold flashes and also mood swings.
