I previously was dependent on opiate pain meds, then got put on suboxone and have now become dependent on that. I wanted to be completely off everything so I stopped taking the suboxone and have used a fentanyl patch for a week so I didn’t have horrible withdrawals. My question is, after the patch wears off would I still have withdrawal symptoms? Is the patch simply delaying the withdrawals? My Pain Specialist who prescribed fentanyl actin lollipops 800 mcg has retired and I can not find any doctor anywhere who will. Please explain to me why your company took at least 3 plus days to deliver the compounding base formula of Fentanyl to the pharmaceutical companies to prepare and deliver the product on time so that patients like myself and so,so, many others didn't have to suffer this past week. I recently had to change pain drs b/c mine closed his practice. I have been fighting w/my WC company to detox from the pain meds I take for the last 5 years b/c I'm having a lot of detrimental secondary side effects. The new doc's PA is having me come off of the Topiramate (1200 mg daily) to 400mg daily in one month. This seems a little crazy fast to me. I think it is a dam shame that there isn't concrete information about self detox.as far as morphine to suboxone my dr put me on oxy for a week and on subs after the week within a month I was off everything I started with a half of a strip of suboxone 2 weeks later a quarter and so on so maybe it was 6 weeks It's all about the money for pharmacy pain mgmt it's a shame but when you have chronic pain I guess your only option is to become an addict Find a good dr who will detox you I did detox but I'm back on pain Meds fetynal patch supposedly you build up a tolerance ## Unfortunately, there really isn't, and never will be, any definitive concrete self-detox instructions, because we are all different, so what works for one person, might not work for another. I'm so aware of the returning withdrawal symptoms since I dropped down from 1/2 strip to 1/4 strip of Suboxone. Is it the closer you get to being done with the Subs the stronger the withdrawal symptoms occur? I've been on the 1/4 strip for 8 days now. I haven't been able to sleep, constant turning, weird leg feelings. I don't want to go up a 1/4 as I need off of it! Back surgery and recently 2 MORE bulged lower lumbar level discs in my back make pain meds almost a must. My partner is on a buprenorphine detox. He gets regular drug tests and passes. Yet i swear he's taking something. His eyes r pinned his breathing is slow and heavy.
