I got this in Mexico last week for a bladder infection. Is this just for the pain of a bladder infection? Or does it help cure one too? ## The active ingredients are 500mgs of Nalidixic Acid and 50mgs of Phenazopyridine, it is commonly used to treat urinary tract infections, because some bacteria that cause them are sensitive to the acid and will be killed by it. That said, however, it is not an antibiotic, so it may help clear it up, but there is also a chance that it won't. The main side effect warned about when taking this is photo-sensitivity. I have a urinary tract infection but don't have medical insurance therefore can't afford to go to the doctor. My mom purchased acido nalidixico fendazopiridina for me in Mexico. But for how many days? ## Hi Barbara, The number of days you take something is usually determined by your prescribing doctor and/or the pharmacist who dispenses the medication. It would also depend on how many pills you were given... However if you had gotten them over-the-counter in Mexico, then I can see how that information may not have been properly conveyed... That said, I can only speak from my own personal experience taking various types of antibiotics for general bacterial infections, in that I'd usually take anywhere from 1 to 3 tablets a day until I run out. In your case, at a rate of 1 tablet every 8 hours, that would be 3 tablets per day until you run out. I hope this helps. But please be sure to consult...

I have a UTI Pirifur & Fenazopiridina have been recommended, should I use both or just one? ## Were these medications recommended by your doctor? It is probably best to go with your doctors recommendation (rather than someone's online opinion) since he or she would know best, based on your medical history, and various other methods used for determining if a specific drug is suitable or not. In the meantime I think it would be wise to research and try some natural remedies to help fight the infection without the extra side effects that come with prescription medications.

Urinary Tract Discomfort ## I have had a UTI of and on for about 6 months. I've been on different antibiotics (now on Doxycycline Hyc 100 mg. 2X a day. with no positive results.
