I have been on Adderall XR 20mg once a day and my dr wrote it for 10mg twice daily; yet the pharmacist filled regular generic adderall xr; I know this because I compared those with a photo from Barr! I am currently without insurance and I had to pay $275 (cheapest I could find) for my GENERIC Adderall XR 20mg/60 count. I have read that Teva was the only one to produce the generic version for 180 days from the launch date, which was 4/2/09. My math indicates their 180 days will be up in two days (9/30/09) but I can't find out if any other companies are going to be producing the generic which should drive the price down significantly. How does everyone find the Extended Release (XR, ER) version of Adderall to work when compared to the Immediate Release (IR)? ## Adderall XR, maybe I got a bad generic but it's crap, it does not reveal in your system. I hate all XR meds they are awful. My doctor put me on reg Adderall and the quality is night and day, reg last 4 hours that's okay. I take another one, and get the same quality. The xr is weak and seems to last a shorter time than the IR. Everybody is different I know, and I'm no doctor, so take what your prescribed, and please do not abuse drugs, take it like its prescribed. It works trust me. My daughter has had very treatment with the prescription of dexedrine 15 mg extended release spansules for many years. Recently, a different pharmacy filled it for what turned out to be labeled as "dexedrine sulfate(salts)" and my daughter's behavior was worse. She has never tolerated adderall. That particular pharmacist said it is all the same. The other pharmacies say it isnt. Now, years later, at a pharmacy just purchased by the Kroger that supplied the adderal mix before, she has received spansules from corepharma that do not seem to match and the behavior is again intolerable. Would like to know what color the beads inside the capsule look like? ## @Nikki, Just curious, why is the color of the beads so important if you're obtaining your Adderall legally with a valid prescription? If you have to question the bead color in order to determine if it's real then I think you should probably throw it away. I don't know about the 25mg bead color, but the 20mg generic amphetamine + detroamphetamine extended release blue capsule from Actavis contains white beads. I've also heard about Adderall capsules containing peach colored beads as well as combinations of orange and white together. If you have one why not open it up to find out?

Hi: I've been prescribed Adderall 20mg IR (generic amphetamine salts, 2x daily) and I found I was just dripping sweat in any type of heat or even at 40 deg after some exertion. My doctor switched me to dextroamphetamine (again, generic, 10 mg, 2x daily), and there is no improvement. The new drug is not as effective as the Adderall. Adderall 20 mg xr (blue capsule) with r3060 on it. This has white beads in it. Is this normal because the orange capsules have orange and white beads in it. ## I can't seem to find a photograph of the pill, but I can confirm that your blue capsule imprinted with "R 3060" is identified as Amphetamine + Dextroamphetamine extended release 20 mg. These ones are manufactured by Actavis Elizabeth LLC, so yes, they are real. Manufacturers can also change the look of a pill without any prior notice.
