Have you had any tests done to see what's causing it? ## I have never had it checked but will do so ASAP. Thank you!

I was recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism after having my thyroid tested and my TSH was 5.9. I have been taking Levothyroxine since the end of June. The middle of July I started having non-stop ringing in my ears and still continues. I also have experienced severe hair loss and cannot put weight ON. Is it okay to stop taking Levo to see if the ringing in my ears stop? I really don't want to be on this medication, but don't want to cause additional issues as I'm getting married soon. I have been taking doxycycl hyc 100mg for about 2 yrs now. I have also had ringing of the ear about that long. Just wondering if the doxycycl hyc could be the cause of my ringing of the ear? ## Hi Kim, According to Harvard Medical School, Doxycycline is one of many drugs that can cause or worsen tinnitus. Apparently it damages the nerve cells/hairs that send and receive signals to and from the brain. You can read more about that in the article linked below: health.harvard.edu/newsletters/Harvard_Womens_Health_Watch/2011/September/tinnitus-ringing-in-the-ears-and-what-to-do-about-it I hope this helps to answer your question!

I have been on 0.1 clonidine now for several years. Recently i have been getting very high spikes. My doctor increased me. I was taking 0.1 twice a day. I now take 0.4 split up into 3 times a day. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? It is driving me crazy and cannot function like this! ## Jewels -- I started taking Clonidine 0.1 mg three months ago for occasional blood pressure spike to 160/105 (I believe I have panic attack or anxiety disorder). Has anybody experienced buzzing or ringing in their ears from Cymbalta? It's called tinnitus. ## It is possible, but not common, and when someone does experience it as a side effect from Cymbalta, it usually goes away in a few weeks, since such side effects are transient, and tend to go away, once your body gets used to the medication, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, appetite loss, weight changes, and laryngitis. Are you on any other medications? ## Change your anti depressant. I have Tinnitus but not from any drugs. Whenever you “ experience” a symptom of a side effect, it needs to be changed. Usually the older antis are the better ones. I only notice my tinnitus when it’s very quiet. There are also soft noise ...

I have been using this spray for almost 2 mo. and have developed ringing in my ears(tinnitus) so I stopped it and went to an ear, nose &throat Dr. who told me to go on a low salt diet and resume the Veramyst. Haven't been able to find the tinnutis as a side effect of this drug so I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem with it ## yes, been taking for 1 week now (2 doses each nostril, 1xday) and I've just developed really bad tinnutis in both ears about 20mins after the last dosing. I was just prescribed methylprednisolone 4mg for ringing in the ears. After reading so many negative reviews I'm afraid to take it. Is there something else I could take with fewer side effects? ## Hello, Mar! How are you? This actually is the steroid that's known to cause less side effects and problems than the others. And you also need to remember that the negative reviews are only left by a very small number of people that have actually taken it. The larger percentage take it without a problem and thus, have no reason to be hunting up a website like this to look for more information on it. I took it myself last year for a cyst and the worst effect I had was a slight blood pressure and heart rate elevation for a few days. Is there anything else I can help with?

10 weeks pregnant. Have a terrible cold. Today my ears are ringing and hurting. Is it OK to take amoxicillin 500 mg. I did not have a chance to see my doctor today. Me pain started like 2 ours ago. Please help. ## Hello, Marce! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're sick. If all of your symptoms are just due to a cold, then Amoxicillin won't help. It only treats bacterial infections. And, since you are pregnant, it's very important that you see your doctor for a proper diagnosis, before you take anything. Otherwise, you could place both you and your baby at risk. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?
