Statistics point out that opioid overdose related deaths are significantly lower in states that have medical marijuana programs in place. As a short or long term chronic pain patient, what are your views on this topic? Do you think marijuana (CBD's included) has effectively secured its spot as a means of adjunctive pain management where the excessive use of opiates outweighs potential benefits? ## So says my Doctor. Others say it helps to get off opiates. ## David, Absolutely! Before I started on a daily Rx for pain I used to consume marijuana a lot. I never had any problems sleeping or with depression, worked 75 hours every other week (Sat. 7am - Sun 7pm was 1 job, and I could sleep) and went to College Full Time. Then I had to take Rx's here and there, and then came the drug p...

I am experiencing a tight left shoulder joint and it feels like it is rubbing without lubrication during certain exercises and stretching. What medical remedies/exercises are available to deal with this condition? ## Hello, Doug! How are you? It really depends on what the specific problem is and there's no way to know that for sure from just your limited description. Have you consulted your doctor? You should do so, before it gets worse, as it may be something that's easily remedied. Do you do a lot of heavy lifting? Do you workout?

I have taken Drixoral for over 20 something years on a seasonal bases. Please bring them back and let us make the decision as to what the side affects are and if it is worth dealing with. Jeff Sessions said " Take Tylenol and deal with the pain" !. Comments like this coming from a Senator just makes me sick. People have no conception what Chronic Pain feels like and what we go through. Because know one wants to hear it. I am 67 years old and have OA in my neck and back, both knees and ankles. I am allowed 1 pill 7.5 mg, 325 acetaminophen every 4 hours. I am on Vicodin watch. I feel the need to stress my point with Chronic pain warriors. We suffer 24/7, we can't sleep do to pain. We take the blame for drug junkies. I have never met a chronic pain person who abuses their meds. But we are being treated like junkies. We did not ask for these conditions, we were handed a bad card. I would like to say to Jeff Sessions brake a leg, but you can only take a Tylenol on...

It is almost 2 years old. Now,after reading this, know why it has not helped me.I have a prescription for Tramadol 50 mg. It seems to work better... I also am taking Amoxiciln . 500mg. I was wondering if taking the Tramadol and Hydrocodone alterating if it will be ok? ## Hello, Kathy! How are you? If the Hydrocodone isn't helping you, why keep taking it? Why not just take the Tramadol that you've been prescribed? Hi. I have been going through a war now for years trying to manage my pain from my ruptured and bulging disk in my lower back. For years I just dealt with the pain. But about three years ago I was forced into a point that I had to work so I started going to a pain clinic in TN and after a year I moved to Florida for my husband to get treatment for cancer. When I moved I had enough of my meds for the month but I couldn't find a doctor to see me in time and ran out. I started with withdrawls and every doctor I saw down there didn't believe I was in pain. So I had no choice but to go to methadone for the withdrawls. Now two years later I'm trying to get off it and get back to a pain clinic. I've been going through withdrawal for 3 weeks and recently started getting migraine...

Re: The price of hydrocodone... I've been told big store chains now have limits on what they can order; store policy. The stores are now more afraid of robbery. So, each store is raising the price, not the manufacturer. Go to the small private pharmacies. I've been told they will have the medication in stock. They can set their own limit on the amount they keep in stock. Last time I went to fill my medication, they were on backorder. I checked 6 stores that were close and they had none. I had to drive a half hour to get it filled. Today, it was triple the price. For those who need medication to function, this is unacceptable. ## Since this is now a Schedule II, the increased security involved in dealing with this med is the reason for the increase in cost. The increased security...

I used to take high doses of narcotics for severe neuropathy pain. That crap almost killed me and destroyed my life, leaving me destitute and homeless. I had to move in with my sister, and then some friends to stay off the street. I have been taking lyrica for several years and it helped, even while on the narcotics. Since going off the narcotics, I have relied entirely on Lyrica to deal with the pain. My doctor changed my dosage about a month or so ago to 300mg twice a day and soon to 300mg three times a day. The difference has been amazing and the neuropathy pain is almost completely gone while the Lyrica is in effect. I do have some side effects though, like headaches, dizziness, sleepiness but I don't care. Anything is preferable to the pain, except for narcotics. ## Lyrica has ...

I was just prescribed lorazepam to help deal with the anxiety of my husband of 18 years divorcing me. He can't seem to wrap his mind around supporting me towards wellness, and he has contributed to the severity of the depression...for about 14 years. My concern is that lorazepam will make me drowsy and create muddled thinking. I really need my wits about me to navigate my way through the divorce. So, reducing anxiety at the cost of clear thinking doesn't do me much good. My Doc is replacing Xanax because it just knocks me out. What are other people's experience with this drug?
