Im a 53 year old woman who was hit head on by a drunk driver many years ago. I've had physical therapy 4neck surgeries with pin and plates even went so far as having a electric stimulater put in my back. i have tried it all. I have degenerative disc disease and at this point have no life because im in constant pain. arthritis has set in. ive tried over the counter med ultram you name it. docs in my area are afraid to write pain meds like lortab because of the people who have abused these meds. now the ones off us whom truly need it are suffering. ive had it. I cannot go on like this any longer. I would rather be dead than to lay on my couch everyday and suffer. I am unable to even take a walk in the park. I just moved to Fredericksburg/DC Metro area of Virginia from Florida. I have severe chronic spinal pain from bulging lumbar discs, bone spurs, spinal stenosis and scoliosis (in mid/upper spine). My doctor that was treating me in FL had me on 60mg MS Contin 2xday and 10mg Percocet 4xday. Which makes it able for me to function with a lowered amount of pain. I went through 3 other doctors over the years that prescribed too little or too much before I found him. I would like to find a doctor/pain clinic that will prescribe me the same or similar in/around the Fredericksburg/DC Metro area of Virginia as opposed to having to drive back to my Florida doctor every month. Does anyone know of any in these areas?

Florida resident. Here in VA Beach. Im a patient in FL but cant get home now. I fell Jan 4th in NY and spent 9 nine hours in ER. I have copies. Plz, does anyone know any drs that prescribe Methadone for pain in Tappahannock or Richmond Va. area? ## Had spinal stenosis surgery, triple lactomactomy and when I came out was way worse. My surgeon said to go to their pain management and get an idea of what they came up with on file for any doctor to see or said to call them and they would help come up with a plan. They had me on methadone and oxycodone. My surgery was in 2009. I tried not to get on methadone. I was nervous. Hello, I am new to Newport News, Hampton, VA. I have been under the care of US Military for almost 15 years. When my husband retired from the Army and move back to Virginia. I was cut off of my pain medication. I was told that they will not be taking care of my long term chronic pain, that it was for active duty only. I was in shock. I am detoxing off 130 mg tht I have been on for 6 years. I need a doctor in VA or NC, I live near Norfolk. Everyone wants to prescribe suboxone but my doctor warned me that if I take suboxone and have ANY methadone in my system that it will throw me into SEVERE withdrawal. Also, we are going to be trying for a baby soon so I cannot take Suboxone while breastfeeding. I live in Virginia. Lynchburg VA 24501 to be exact. I've been on opiates 15+ years now and my doctor is retiring in 3 months. I've got all the MRI's, all my major issues and list's of my meds over these years. I was told I needed pain meds the rest of my life as they can't do operation. I'm on Oxycontin er 30mg 2 a day, 30mg oxycodone ir for breakthrough pain 8 a day, 240 a month. As I age, 40 now, I have increasingly worsening panic moments and more and more terrifying dreams. I have been on and off Xanax multiple times. I have tried every pain med there is. I'm allergic to the slow release meds. What ever is in them that let's them release slow brakes me out in hives. It took almost two years of trying diffrant meds to find the one that works. Now the Rehab center says after about 8 years they will not prescribe my oxycodone anymore.if that's not Bad enough the new doctor only gave me enough to get though for a week are two. I am looking for a doctor in virginia who will take self pay patients and who is not against opioid medications. I'm currently on Amatriptalin Tizanidin and Meloxicam (which is killing my stomach due to many years of nsaid). These medications help but they are not enough. I'm in physical therapy and the pain is preventing me any my therapist from being able to progress in my therapy.
