Ihad my angioplasty done on 1st Aug 2011. I have been taking plavix 75mg for the past 2 weeks. This medicine is very costly 14 tablets costa around Rs1500/-around 30 dollars.I am from India. Can I replace this with Clopilet A 150 which also contains the same active ingrdinet clopidogrel anti coagulating agent pl advice I cant afford this medicine. ## Actually, Clopilet-A contains Clopidogrel and Aspirin, so I wouldn't advise switching to it, without your doctors approval. The regular Clopilet would be the equivalent medication that just contains Clopidogrel and, in that case, there should be no harm in switching, as long as you are taking the correct dosage. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Thank you sir for your reply Regards P.R.Narayanaswami ## I was takken off lipit...

Hi last month my mother had undergone angioplasty doctor prescribed him tab ecosprin 150 mg 2dose,clopilet 75 2dose storvas 80 1 dose i want to know that is there any side effect after taking these tabs.is it ok to take every day ## All medications carry the risk of side effects, however, with a heart condition, the risks are far greater if someone doesn't take the proper medications to improve heart function and circulation. Most heart patients take medications like this, daily, to keep their condition under control and reduce their future risk. Ecosprin contains the active ingredient Aspirin and, in such cases, it is used for its blood thinning properties. Feel very weak in the evening find difficult to walk and have breathing problem after taking ecosprin150 at 1 pm I am also taking Sompraz 40 one 7 AM and 7 PM o clock for last one year. I am also taking clopilet 75 one at 9 AM and one at 9 Pm. What could be reason for my weakness. Is it necessary to continue Sompraz 40 in the long term ## Actually, Sompraz is only meant to be taken for short periods of time, usually only up to 4 months, because long-term use of it can increased your risk of hip fractures, as reported by the FDA. As to the other issues, that can be typical side effects of the Clopilet, according to the NIH, so you should consult your doctor as you might need to switch to a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking ecosprin 150 mg for the past 2 years and currently my doctor prescribed clopilet A75. Are both of these the same or what? Please tell me. ## No, they are not the same. Ecosprin only contains Aspirin, which is used for its blood thinning properties and heart health. But Clopilet A contains Aspirin and Clopidogrel, so it contains an additional ingredient to help prevent clotting. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation, and increased risk of bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I used to be prescribed: 1. Pantop 40; 2. Deplatt A 75; 3. Rasuvas 20; 4. Met xl 50; 5. Cardiopril 2.5. Now another doctor after 3 years prescribed: 1. Hello, My father, a diabetic from last 10 years, suffered from a heart attack 2 months back and had an angioplasty done with 2 stents implanted. He has been prescribed medicines such as Aspirin (Ecosprin-AV 150 ) and Clopidogrel (clopilet 75) among others. After taking these medicines for 2 months, he suffered from extreme gastrointestinal bleeding and had to be hospitalized under ICU care and was also administered 6 bottles of blood. Now he is fine, but it is known that the main undesirable side effects of aspirin are gastrointestinal bleeding, stomach bleeding, etc especially in higher doses. My doctor tells me that it is necessary to continue with the aspirin for the sake of stents implanted. I am afraid that continuing with this medicine may cause another bout of stomach/gasto-intes...

My father had done an angiogram a few weeks back and found blocked arteries lcx 99% d1 and d2 80% and one 50% and had done pci to lcx two weeks back. He just started to take insulin novamax 50 20 unit in the morning and 14 unit in the evening, avrly 1mg twice daily, siptin 1000 in the morning and siptin 500 in the evening. My husband had undergone angioplasty 10 months ago. He has been prescribed Cardace 10 mg, clopilet 75 mg, ecosprin 150 mg, covance D, rosuvas 20 and amlopres AT. How long should he continue with all these medicines. Is it ok if he takes either ecosprin or clopilet as in my opinion both these medicines are for thinning of blood. Please suggest. ## First, I would like to state that this site is not medical professionals, so we cannot possibly suggest any changes or duration to his use of these medications. How long he needs to use them is something he will need to discuss with his doctor, it may even need to be a lifelong thing, but only they can decide that. Now, there is probably a reason that his doctor has him on both the Clopilet, which contains Clopidogrel and the Ecosprin, which co...
