You should speak with your doctor immediately, so the condition doesn't worsen. He/she may need to prescribe a different antibiotic or lower the dosage. You may also want to consider taking a probiotic while on the antibiotic, to reinstate good bacteria in your body. Have you had negative reactions wi...
I have a gum infection from a tooth that needs to come out, I have no coverage for eyes and dental, the only antibiotic I have in the house is from my lady's stone removal ## Hello, Willie! How are you? Yes, antibiotics just eradicate bacteria, they are not gender specific. However, it would be best to see your doctor and let them prescribe an appropriate antibiotic. Any doctor can do so, it doesn't have to be a dentist. The FDA lists the typical side effects of an antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?
Started out with a gum infection and started taking amoxicillin 2 days ago. Went to the dentist and found out I had a root infection under my crown. He said he fixed that today and just take Tylenol since I'm pregnant. However, few hours later and I'm still in severe pain and can't touch the tooth. Is it normal for the actual tooth to hurt this much still? I figured I'd get a little relief. ## It may take a few days for all of the symptoms of the infection to go away, according to NIH reports, as well as my own experience. Are you still taking the antibiotic? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Has there been any change? If not, you may need to return to your dentist.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. It will not, however, treat pain. I have a abcess tooth which one is best cipro septra or keflex? ## Hi Brenda, From what I could gather, Ciprofloxacin is not commonly prescribed for dental infections. So it's probably not the best choice as a first line treatment option.. Septra and Keflex on the other hand, are more commonly prescribed by dentists for tooth and other mouth related infections, due to their broader spectrum. You may want to talk with your doctor about either one of those last two options to see what works best. Sometimes the right decision has to come from trial and error, depending on how your body reacts to each medication. Have you taken either of these medications in the past?

Can this drug be used for a tooth & gum infection & what are the side effects for a man ## Hi jeff, Which medication or drug are you referring to? It does not appear that you posted the name of what your talking about in a specific forum or within your topic or description. If you could post back with this bit of info, I'd be more than happy to do some research on the indications and side effects of that particular drug. If you do have a tooth or gum infection, I would also suggest looking into getting some clove essential oil from your local health food store or online, and gargling or brushing your teeth with it for more immediate relief. I hope this helps!

But my dentist prescribed Tylenol and amoxicillin now the question is my gum turned red like it was bloodshot after my first dosage of the antibiotics then the next day I discovered that it became really soft and had like a pulse... few hours later blood and what not came out of the pulse and it felt numb like I wasn't feeling any pain again but it's still swollen a bit . I have a gum infection because I have a bad tooth that needs to be pulled. The dentist prescribed me Amoxicillin 875 mg. I'm just wondering how long will it take for my gums to return back to normal. I've been taking the pills for 7 days and I have 3 days left. ## Hello, Shauna! How are you doing? The general rule for antibiotics is that you should start to see improvement after taking them for a full 3 days. If you still have swelling, it may not be the right one to treat the infection you have and you may need to ask about taking something else. When are you having the tooth extracted? It would be best to do it after the infection has improved, otherwise it may not numb properly. ## As rightlly said by Verwon, at seven days you shud ave had an improvement if not complete heali...

I have a gum infection. My dentist prescribed Amoxicillin 500 mg, 4 times a day. Would this be considered to be a "normal" dose of the medication? I just need some guidance on this. ## It can vary, depending on the severity of the infection being treated and thus, can range from 2 to 4 doses daily. And you also have to remember that in this case, where it is a gum infection being treated, you have to eradicate the existing infection and prevent reinfection, since you have to eat every day and expose your gums to further possible contaminants. A higher dosage might cause more severe side effects, such as worsening of the nausea, dizziness and diarrhea that antibiotics can cause. Are there any other questions? You can ...
