Can I take Tylenol with Prednisone? I have a headache and this is all I've got. ## Hi Teresa - I checked medlineplus.gov and did not see any mention of Acetaminophen (the active ingredient in Tylenol) being listed as something to avoid while taking Prednisone. I did see blood thinners, as well as Aspirin on the list. Ultimately I would place a quick call to the pharmacy just to be safe. The doctor had me stop taking methylpredmosolone for dizziness effects one day ago. Now in bed I have a throbbing headache. Can I take am Advil ## Hello, Lynn! How are you feeling? According to the U.S. FDA taking it with the steroid still in your system could increase your risk of stomach ulceration. Most times, it is best to stick with just Acetaminophen/Tylenol, unless your doctor instructs otherwise. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness and headache. Tyenol PM or advil PM ## Can't sleep on prednisone what can I take yo)to. help me ## I would recommend staying away from the Advil/Ibuprofen, because it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and taking it with the Prednisone can seriously increase the risk of developing stomach problems, such as bleeding ulcers. There are, however, no interactions listed between taking the Prednisone, with the Tylenol PM, which contains Acetaminophen and Diphenhydramine, but you may want to double check that with your pharmacist to be certain. I started on prednisone for extreme knee and hip pain. Can't sleep. No relief yet. Can I take hydrocodone? I took Tylenol several hours ago with no relief from that either. ## I was put on Celebrex, 200 mg, for severe hip pain and arthritis. Can't mix Advil (only Tylenol) which does nothing for me. Tried cutting a 5/300 Vicodin in half and that sure helped take the edge off. Am going to discuss further with my neuromuscularskeletal doctor. Trying to avoid an epidural shot and surgery. I have been diagnosed with spinal stenosis and scoliosis, along with arthritis. ## Thank You very much for sharing your challenge with me. It definitely helped me. I decided to break one of the 7.50 hydrocodones in half (i know naproxen is a no-np). I took half and within 10 minutes I felt NO pain....

I took 20 of pred this am and I take celexa.. I have a horrible headache and need to take something for it.. Can i take nyquil or excedrine migrane or advil or something? its really a pounder.. thanks ## Hello, Tami! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the headache. If your doctor approves, the best thing to take is Tylenol/Acetaminophen, as most others can cause interactions with your other medications. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Acetaminophen as possibly including nausea, dizziness and headache. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi - is it possible to have bad side affects from only a 7 day course of the drug prednisone? I've been battling bronchitis and was prescribed 20 MG of the drug last Monday (almost 2 weeks ago). I was prescribed 40MG the first day, then 20MG a day for the next 6 days (my last dose was last Sunday). My bronchitis is alot better, but everyday I've had these wierd sinus headaches and diziness that start about noon and get worse throughout the day. I also had really bad insomnia - didn't sleep for almost 2 days after finishing the prescription. I've been taking Tylenol PM which has thankfully allowed me to sleep, but I don't like how I'm feeling during the day. I also feel alot of fatigue and bloating (my legs especially). Has anyone taken Remicade for Crohn's Arthritis? I also have had surgery for a small tumor of the kidney which was cancerous. ## Remicade is an immunosuppressant medication. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, irritability, and weight changes. Are you on any other medications? How are your kidneys doing? Was the cancer malignant, or benign? ## Thanks for replying...his cancer was malignant, but (no treatments required). He has been on prednisone since 1991 - 10 milligrams. He is taking 6-9 tylenol for arthritis daily and 2 atasol 30s each day. He isn't doing very well because the drugs he is currently on isn't helping with his mobility.

I was prescribed 20 mg predizone for my hands. I started taking them yesterday. I only took one o at 4: 00 pm. Now its 6/3/17 at 8: 07 am. I have a headache. My question is, can I take one excedrine now and then at 4: 00 take my next dose of predizone.? ## Generally, the FDA recommends that you not take the Excedrin with Prednisone, due to the Aspirin in it and the fact that it can compound the gastrointestinal issues that both risk causing as side effects, such as nausea, bleeding, and ulcers. If your doctor approves, it might be better to just stick with Tylenol/Acetaminophen, while you are taking the prednisone. Is there anything else I can help with?
