I had a treated uti two weeks ago I was fine until now. I have constant burning in my urethra but not when I urinate. I did a follow up with my gyno and uti was negative. Also negative for sti yeast infection and bv. She gave me bactrim just in case. I dont know if I should take it or consider I might have post infection inflammation which I dont need a anti. I have had constant burning for eight days and is getting somewhat better. Is it possible the uti test didnt show a mild infection still? I am very healthy and have no health issues. My wife was diagnosed with uri due to sinusitis. Why use such a heavy duty antibiotic? So many side effects. It's used on HIV patients and to treat certain STI's. I'm assuming she has neither. I was prescribed this antibiotic after receiving 7 stitches, one was internal. ( I was cutting raw meat) Anyway,two days later I had to return to the ER with severe headache, nausea, fever, chills, sweats, flu like symptoms. After several tests diagnosis...Viral Syndrome. Having taken Bactrim for about 3 weeks for a prostate infection, it now seems that the first urination after taking the pill exaggerates or possibly causes an extra burning sensation. My doctor told me it would be ok to take these two drugs together. They both state that nausea can be a side effect. When I was taking the Bactrim I had no symptoms but the day I took both, my stomach hurt for three days and of course I did not take another vyvanse since.
