Alabama Medications Prescribed Information
14 Topics FoundMy dr in Mont., AL has been prescribing me 3 80mg oxycontin for several years. My visit last week he refilled my script and said it could be the last because he was told there was diversion possibly coming from his practice. Btw that was 3 a day. If he doesn't refill my script on my next visit, I need to find a Dr. quick. Is it legal not to wean a patient off? The pain clinics in this town are full. ## If he cannot continue to prescribe, he should be able to refer to another doctor or clinic that will accept his current patients. Has he suggested anyone? And yes, it is perfectly legal for a doctor to stop prescribing your medications, even if they are habit forming, at any time. They are not obligated to treat you or prescribe anything, unless you are in life threatening danger. As ...
This is so sad. If medications were legal for responsible adults, we would not have this problem. This problem lies with the fact that many people sell their medication or abuse it. Be honest with your physician and you will be amazed at the help you will get. BTW, methadone will kill you. If you aren't ready to detox, go to someone that prescribes Suboxone. It will not cost you anymore than methadone will. You will get a monthly supply. Just reading these posts breaks my heart. It is obvious that many of you are drug addicts. I am not throwing stones but why would someone go for a week without their medication if it is needed? The reason is that they sell it. Dr.'s are not stupid. We can smell a lie a mile away and we don't want to get our license revoked because of your li...
In need of a new doctor. Mine is still my family doctor but cut me off of all my pain control, anxiety, & sleeping meds when I tested negative for Lortab & Percocet after a 9 day trip with my daughter's school to D.C. & 6 states in which I didn't carry my meds.I need one in Northwest Alabama that will continue to prescribe my Lortab, Percocet, Valium, & Ambien for chronic pain, anxiety, & sleeplessness. Any suggestions appreciated. ## Hello, Little Mister! How are you doing? Sorry about the problem that you're having. Why didn't you take your medications on the trip? If you need them, it only makes sense that you'd take them all the time, as prescribed. I'm sure that's why your doctor has taken such an action. If you require such medicatio...
I have been prescribed Suboxone for 6+ years after choosing to come off traditional opioid pain medications for chronic pain. I have also been prescribed Adderall for many years for ADD. My current physician (as well as others I have contacted who prescribe Suboxone in my area) is telling me that he cannot prescribe Suboxone for pain. He acknowledges that I have never abused drugs, but says that he "has" to put it on paper that he is treating me for opioid dependency. I am required to go to meetings. Now he is telling me that because of new laws in Alabama, he will no longer be able to prescribe my Klonopin. He has never given my Adderall which makes my life so much harder. He admitted when I last saw him that he would prescribe the Adderall if I were being treated with traditional
Filed under SuboxoneI am a electrician for 17 years and my knees hurt and occasionally have bad aches in my feet and I've took other pain meds and for use to them and started getting use to them and took methadone and it works great ## Hello, Darrell! How are you? There is no such thing as a Methadone doctor, technically, any doctor that has their license and can prescribe medications can prescribe it for pain. However, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing bass for the treatment of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? That would most likely be the fast and easy way to find the help you need. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the...
I've been on xanax for 3 years & my doctor left his practice. I need a new doctor just to keep me on my medication. I have all of my Doctor's medical records. Thanks ## Personally, I think if you suffer from anxiety/depression and need a Benzodiazepine class medication (like Xanax), usually your best bet is to see a psychiatrist, rather than a regular medical doctor. Reason being, is that they are better trained in the types of medications that handle these problems and can also help you treat the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression, as opposed to covering up the feelings and emotions with medication; unless you decide that you're ok with only treating the symptoms for as long as they persist... I'm stating this based on personal experience with severe dep...
Need a Dr who will prescribe Methadone for chronic pain..haven't taken any in approx 2 mos...am severe depressed and back pain is relentless...I'm 61.. not in good health..really need help...Live in the state of Alabama... ## Hi, Patti! Sorry that you're so miserable. Is there a special reason that it has to be Methadone? There are many other treatments options available for pain that use much safer and more effective medications or therapies. Do you have a general practitioner that you're currently seeing? If so, they can most likely refer you to a pain specialist. Learn more Methadone details here. The big issue with Methadone is that due to its very high addiction rate, doctors are very reluctant to prescribe it for pain, except for in very severe cases. ## I do not u...
I work two, jobs neither of which provide insurance, so I honestly cant afford to go pay a dr $100 to tell me that they dont prescribe any medications. i used to take 120 x 30 mg Roxicodone a month. I was in a horrible car wreck. I only want to get my lortab/Norco written along with an anti inflammatory med, can someone please make some suggestions of a good doctor?
Filed under LortabI am prescribed lortab 10 every 4 hours as needed, soma 350 mg 1 every 4 hours as needed, 15 mg of ambien each night. I am sleepless n Alabama and need to desperately find a safe way to get off this medication. I have no insurance.....please help. ## If you're simply looking for a powerful sleep aid to deal with insomnia, I'd highly recommend considering medical marijuana (that is of an indica variety). It may also be of great benefit to any emotional pain you might be dealing with when it comes to withdrawing off those medications. I'm not aware of the legality of cannabis in Alabama, but for someone with no insurance, it's something you can easily grow for personal use at very little cost. Have you talked to your doctor about a safe way to taper off?
I have just moved here five weeks ago from Birmingham, Alabama. I now find that I cannot get a doctor to prescribe the pain medications that I have been using for some five years. I have had three cervical surgeries and one lumbar surgeries. I have among other things, degeneration of the spine. I also have a list of about seven other maladies that I can't begin to name because of their names. I am in constant severe pain without my Exalgo and Hydromorphone. I will run out in ten days and I'm told that I won't be able to even get into a doctor who prescribes these types of meds for at least five weeks. What do they expect me to do in the meantime? Does anyone know of a doctor that prescribes pain medications that doesn't have a LONG waiting list. I'm desperate. I also...
Where in Mississippi or Alabama or Florida can I fill a script from my doctor in Houston for Oxycodone? ## I need Help! I was seeing a doctor for a few years who gave me Suboxone, buprenaphrine, Paxil, Klonopin and trazadone. Unfortunately he had to go to prison and I miss him. I found a new doctor asap because these medications are physically addictive. I found a Suboxone doctor she is nice but made me pick between Suboxone and buprenaphrine. The reason I took this combination was because when I take 2 Suboxone a day, my heart beats fast, I get anxiety and I already have an anxiety disorder! She didn't care so I picked Suboxone since buprenaphrine doesn't have a blocker in it. At first she helped me by giving me prescriptions for Paxil, klonopin and Suboxone. I have been on klo...
Anyone know a doctor that will prescribe pain medication in Mobile Alabama? Suffer from severe arthritis and neck and back problems. ## HI, Daisy! Sorry that you're in pain. Since you're in Alabama, the best suggestion I can make is that find yourself a regular, general practitioner and then discuss the issue with them, so they can refer you for pain management. Basically the area of the U.S. from Iowa, Arkansas and etc. over to the east have all been hit with a ton of new regulations for the prescribing of pain medications, due to the heavy rates of improper and over prescribing that were going on. Under these new regulations, general practitioners are restricted in what they are allowed to prescribe for pain and how long they can prescribe it, so most patients requiring strong...
What's going on with roxicodone ?In south Florida they are not available now for 3 weeks. Can anyone tell me when they will be back on the market.I have been on this med. for 3 years, and I am deadly afraid of withdrawels.Any news ? ## there's no roxicodone to be found here in Alabama either. the pharmacies say they can't get the 15 mg anymore. my friends doc changed her to the 30 mg pills, which are still availabe, & just cut the # of pills in half. maybe that would work for you as well. ## there s a shortage of all generic pain medications due to ineffective or unapproved ingredients, check FDA recalls especially for kv pharmicetiucals an ethex corp. also watson pharmicetiucal questionable, i would suggest you talk to your dr an ask for avinza, a time released morphine ...
My pain clinic was manageing my pain until 3 months ago. I went to pick up my scripts and was surprised at the change n my meds without my knowledge! I was on 4 60mg morphine er and 3 30mg morphine ir a day and my pain was manageable. They cut me to 2 100mg morphine er and 11/2 30mg morphine ir. no warning something about DEA or DEU regulations changeing. Now this month they changed it to 2 60mg oxicontin er and its a joke!!! what's going on with Alabama pain clinics and what they can or can't write their patients?? Does anybody no what's going on? ## Hello, From what I can gather, Alabama ranks high amongst the country for the use of prescription pain killers- in turn, Alabama has been linked to a string of unnecessary deaths in recent years due to prescription medications. ...
