100+ Topics FoundThe drug I'm taking is probenecid 500mg tablet wat....what does " wat" mean ... Drug was given to me and a patient advisory leaflet was given to me and that's when I noticed "wat" at the end of the drug received .....It said :Probenecid 500 mg tablet wat ? ## Hi Robert, Based on my research "WAT" stands for the name of the manufacturer. So it could just be an abbreviation for Watson Pharmaceuticals. The way that it's listed on Costco.com's pharmacy page, depicts it as being the manufacturer's name as well: costco.com/Pharmacy/DrugInfo.aspx?p=1&SearchTerm=a&Drug=PROBENECID I hope this info helps to answer your question!

Can taking Folbic daily cause stomach problems. I have had pain bloating and gas since starting this med. about 2weeks after taking this I started having problems. ## Hello, Martha! How are you? Yes, with these potent multivitamins, the FDA does list them as potentially causing such side effects, in some people that take them. You may also experience nausea and constipation. How long will you be taking it? ## Not sure, I have west Nile so my neurologist put me on folbic in February. I will see her in November and in the mean time she said I needed the folbic and she didn't think this would hurt my stomach. It has gotten some better since my gi Doctor is giving me carafate and if xifaxim.
Hi, I know this may sound like a stupid question but I have suffered from Opiate-Induced Constipation for 15 years and have followed several different VA doctors recommendations, none of which really worked or else the VA pharmacy would fill their recommended prescription. My civilian doctor got me approved for Linzess which I have read great things about. By inpacted, I think it means where the stool is backed up and is blocking evacuation but now I am thinking that since opiates cause slow transit of stool through the G.I. tract, that might be the inpaction they are talking about. I have never had a complete evacuation of my G.I. tract (colon), only partial. So which is it? The inpaction around the evacuation point or up through the colon? ## Hello Lartomar, According to Harvard Healt...

What does the "LEG" mean on the prescription bottle immediately following the dosage (20 MG TAB LEG)? This was for acid reflux medication, nothing to do with legs. ## I found the answer. LEG means Lower Esophageal-Gastrointestinal (symptoms, treatment). The medication was for severe heartburn and acid reflux. ## Thanks for the helpful feedback Bruce! Just out of curiosity, which medication are you taking exactly? At first glance I was under the unique impression that LEG might've been an abbreviation for the active ingredient (since I don't normally see the indications mentioned on a prescription bottle - typically just the drug name in my experience), but what you have found certainly makes sense - especially if the medication was prescribed for a related condition. I h...

Anthem pathway is not covering Folbic. What can I get instead? ## Hello, Meatbe! How are you? Folbic is just a potent multivitamin, there are various others available, so you should just ask your doctor to prescribe an alternative that your insurance will cover, or that is available as a generic. Its nice to find something new that helps pain when you are suffering. I have had dry eyes for years but now I have an unusual problem caused by hypothyroidism: acne rosacea on my face and eyes. Now the dryness in my eye is much worse, often indescribable . If anybody suffers from acne rosacea of the eyes -- I have discovered that eating and drinking dairy products was making my eyes ring in pain. I then read an article that said to stop ingesting dairy and meat because both have hormones in them. I followed that advise and my eyes went from painful burning lumps of red lines to white open eyes. The Rosacea and dryness is tolerable now. just little bit of info to make life easier for the few people out there who are unlucky enough to have acne rosacea in their eyes., but look forward to...

I am unclear as to how to take this medication. My doctor just told me to take in the a.m. I have been told to take it before meals and others say after meals. I am unable to reach my physician at this time. ## In our facility we administer the med at 9am; once we are sure that breakfast is available and is eaten. Every individual has a special case and deoendant on how fragile your diabetes is, the doctor may have more specific concerns on when to take the drug(ie if you are fasting or vomiting etc) Since the doctor stated that the AM is the time frame the doctor may not be concerned about the before or after aspect of the dosing too much. But do folow up with the question. The key to diabetes control is the diet/weight management and prescribed exercise with the medication regimen tak...

Hello. I have taken 5 tablets of Follihair and I feel that a few unwanted hairs have grown on my face and neck, though on my scalp it did not show any efficacy. Its been only a week or 10 days that I started using it. Is it a side-effect of Follihair? Shall I continue using it or not? ## HI, Sonia! Sorry about the problems you're having. Follihair is just a nutritional supplement that contains a variety of nutrients that are believed, but not proven to help with hair loss. Thus, the question I want to ask is… How old are you? If you have hair growing in unwanted places, but are losing it on your head, it usually means that you are too high in the hormone estrogen and aren't producing enough progesterone. Estrogen stimulates the production of testosterone, which causes that...
is 400 iu of folic acid equal to 400 mcgs of folic acid? Thanks ## Years ago a dr told me to start taking 400 ui of folic acid. Now i find folic acid is labeled as 400 msg not 400 ui.Is 400 msg equal to 400 ui?ThanksF ## Generally speaking, you can't convert between IU and MCG. IU's measure the potency of a drug, not its mass or weight. You can only measure between MG and MCG. 1000 micrograms (mcg) = 1 milligram (mg); so 400 mcg will be equal to just 4 mg Folic acid 400 mcg does equal 100 percent daily value for this nutrient. NOTE: If you can determine what percent daily value 400 iu of folic acid is, then you can essentially compare mcg vs iu. Hope this helps! ## Thanks, that is the conversion I was looking for! ## I have a question as well what is the percentage of folic acid ...
